As I was watching the Buffy TVS 1992 movie and then watching Becoming Part 1 (during the Buffy flashbacks in LA), I wanted to write a prequel series before Buffy came into Sunnydale.
This is after she was called as the Slayer but before she burned down her school gym.

Hi Joshua, as this does seem like a very cool idea, It just doesn't seem to be enough story there. I mean, I love Buffy as much as the next person but that gap between Buffy becoming the slayer, and coming to Sunnydale, doesn't seem as strong enough as a series to go on with. We really already know what happens in L.A with Buffy and such. She didn't face many monsters there and Sunnydale is really where the story kicks off. And with the Original movie, it does not relate close to the Buffy canon we all know and love today. It was just one big flop.
I don't want to discourage you though. Try thinking of your own story, try and stray away from something that has a set canon, it's a lot harder to write, especially if you're a beginner. Create your own series and look at the other pitches on the forum for pitching series. Take sometime, plan out the story, plan out your own characters. But as for a Buffy Prequel, it just would not work out, seeing as how some of the events before Sunnydale have been seen and discussed on the Original show already. Do something that is all your own and your own creation. If you need some help, there are tutorials on pitching shows, and also you can check out Script Writing 101 forum on the site and on there, there are a lot of tips and more about creating your own show. I can't wait to see what you come up with in the future.
