EPISODE 1x01 - "Pilot"
Description: Gordon Sophoes (Karl Urban) is somewhat unwillingly inducted into the special branch of the government that deals with time-travelling and other strange cases. On his first time out, the team work to track down a local crook, working for an unknown boss, who is using illegal technology to get shipments from the future. Meanwhile, reporter Carrie Dunn (Katie Holmes) gets stuck with a story that could be something bigger than expected.

CASTING EXCLUSIVE: EVANGELINE LILLY TO RECUR ON 'SYNTHESIS'!
The first scoop on new sci-fi series Synthesis is here! Producers have confirmed that actress Evangeline Lilly ( Lost, Ant-Man) has just finalised a deal to appear on the show in a potentially recurring status. Lilly will play Dina Theroux, a by-the-books government agent who gets involved with the task force on a particularly difficult case. Not only that, but Dina also happens to be the ex-wife of series lead Gordon Sophoes (Karl Urban). The reunion goes anything but smoothly, and the two must try to work out their differences while getting the job done. Lilly will make her debut in the series' fourth episode, "Only By Blood", and may appear again this season schedule-permitting, according to insiders. Synthesis is expected to premiere exclusively on theVPN. Stay tuned for further announcements.

EXCLUSIVE: 'SYNTHESIS' ADDS FOUR TO CAST
After booking Evangeline Lilly, the producers of upcoming series 'Synthesis' have today announced the casting of four new recurring characters.
Ken Marino (Veronica Mars, Marry Me) will play Cliff Lowell, described as a "smarmy, opportunistic agent" who heads a task force similar to that of the main characters that are known as "the black sheep" of the department. Jurnee Smollett-Bell (Friday Night Lights, Underground) will feature as Kaya Montez, a "fiery and wicked, but brutal" agent, working under Lowell, known for her violent tendencies. Lowell and Kaya's fellow teammate, the "boneheaded but imposing" Tane Kravensale, will be portrayed by James Lafferty (One Tree Hill, Crisis).
Finally, actress Dianna Agron (Glee, Bare) has been locked to appear as Hartley, a friendly young police detective who becomes a voice of reason to Gordon but, like so many others, there is more to Hartley than meets the eye. Agron's part was previously confirmed, but had to be renegotiated after the role grew in importance.
Production on the second episode of 'Synthesis' is currently underway. Stay tuned for any further updates. |

EXCLUSIVE: KELLY BISHOP SET FOR GUEST ROLE!
With work having just begun on the fourth episode of Synthesis, with it comes another casting coup. The VPN has learned that Tony award-winning actress Kelly Bishop ( Gilmore Girls, Bunheads) has been snagged for a guest stint. Bishop will feature as Lydia Anderson, the mother of regular character Anders (Jeff Hephner). An overbearing but loving figure in her son's life, Lydia arrives amidst a recent tragedy to pay her respects. However, the team soon learn that she may be more pivotal to their current case than they initially assumed. The third episode of Synthesis has nearly wrapped, with pre-production on episode four currently underway. Stay tuned for more news before the series lands in 2017. |
