A short description for "Lockdown" has been posted by Virtual Wonders: 'Chloe (Allison Mack) and Bruce (Christian Bale) are trapped inside Wayne Enterprises in a lockdown protocol, with a shooter on the loose. Meanwhile, Perry (Michael McKean) is forced to expose the identity of one of Gotham's vigilante heroes. But who?'

Virtual Wonders have answered some fan questions:
"One of my favourite characters on the show is Helena. Is it true that she might be pushed to the side this season?" - Marcy
I have some good news, and some ... not so good news! Producers have exclusively told us that Helena is very much a part of the season. "She has her own storyline that kick starts in the second episode," the producers announced, "And an overlapping one that connects to the main storyline in the first run." Yay, right? The bad news is that what happens to Helena in the second episode isn't the greatest thing in the world, especially to someone who has been through so much trauma as a young girl.
"A new trailer was released that had clips of Supergirl in it. Will Laura Vandervoort be on the show this season?" - Eric
As revealed earlier, the Justice League return in all its glory this season, and I'm told for a possible two-parter. As for Supergirl, I'm told Laura Vandervoort may be in more than one episode this season. "We really want to throw Chloe into a familiar universe, and there's an episode that'll feel like just another day in Smallville." I'm also told that executive producer, Chris Davis might be tackling the episode. Something to look forward to!
"What kind of obsticles will Chloe and Oliver be facing together as a couple? Are they still together this season?" - Thomas
"We're building towards something big between them, this season, and when it finally happens, you'll all be shocked," executive producer, and creator Jack Malone told us. From our understanding, things will be rather slow between them, but by mid season, something huge happens that shakes their world up. I'm also told Oliver hasn't given up on the proposal, but finding the right moment may be quite an obsticle to overcome.
"I was so worried Perry would be the one leaving last season. So glad he's back! What will he be up to?" - John
Perry White will be dealing with the consequences of using fate's helmet, and the repercussions of that and how it effects him hit him tenfold. "We really didn't want to just forget that ever happened. We want to explore it, and see where it takes the character." That, and dealing with two reporters now, Chloe and Selina, well ... let's just say Perry has a lot on his hands.

Romance is in the air when Selina Kyle (Eliza Dushku) shows up in Gotham City. The newest reporter at Gotham Daily, Selina is partnered up with none other than our very own Chloe Sullivan, but her journalism isn't what's between her and Bruce Wayne! Our sources tell me a relationship will begin to blossom as soon as the femme fatalle steps on our screens. "They're [Chloe & Selina] both sent to get the scoop on Bruce's return, but in Chloe's absence, Selina makes her move on the billionaire playboy," Dushku shares. "I can't say what kind of relationship they have, or where its leading, but its very fun to dig my teeth into, especially this early in the season." Eliza Dushku tells us that her scenes for the first two episodes are done, and they're prepping for the third episode of the season: "Lockdown." "Chloe is a bit upset when she hears Bruce has his eye on Selina," Dushku dishes to VSGuide. "Choe approaches Bruce at Wayne Enterprises to get him to cancel the date, when something happens that puts them in lockdown. Selina will be up for discussion in the long time they're trapped." The producers have informed us that Selina is a slow burning character. Once the DC Comic Character is introduced, things begin to slow down, story wise for her, before picking up around mid season into overdrive. "We've got an amazing story planned for her as the season progresses. I think the comic book fans, and those of the show in general, will be very pleased." As for the relationship between Chloe & Selina this season? Last we heard, they get off to a bumpy start in the premiere, but end on good terms at episode's end. "There's always something going on between them. Things are slowly building towards a climactic encounter mid-season. Lets just say Selina puts the "cat" in catfight." Watchtower is currently scheduled for a late April, early May return.

Virtual Wonders interview with Justin Hartley and Allison Mack: Last season, Oliver Queen was ready to pop the question to our favourite blonde, and even asked Chloe's parents, Gabe and Moira Sullivan, for their blessing. With no such luck, the life-changing question is yet to be asked. "You'll definately see that this season," Hartley assured us, "that was a huge moment last season that the producers didn't want to squash into the last few episodes of the season. They wanted to flesh it out." Hartley adds: "I can't say if you'll see a proposal, or not, but I can say, it will be addressed." This season, Oliver will be keeping a deep dark secret from the group, as well as the woman he loves. Will this be what ultimately tears them apart to introduce the relationship from the comics between Dinah & Oliver? [Alaina Huffman is set to appear in a handful of episodes this season]"You know, we get so many questions about the mythology and whether or not these two characters will end up together, and of course, if Oliver will ... you know .. end up with Dinah," Allison Mack told Virtual Wonders, "all I'll say is that the producers have a huge story planned between Chloe and Oliver for the bulk of the season." Hartley went on to tell us about the secret his character will be keeping from the rest of the group. "The audience will be carrying the secret with Oliver, and I think it'll stir the pot a lot when that secret comes out. I know I can't wait to see how people react, especially Chloe." The producers have confirmed that Chloe and Oliver hit quite a "rough patch" as they put it. They have definately been quite the perfect couple, in terms of anything else on the show, so what is so big that could get between them? "They sort of break up, in a sense," Hartley confirmed. "There's an amazing episode where Chloe gets caught in this lockdown, trapped with Bruce, and both of those characters that are trapped inside Wayne Enterprises realise what they want most in their life, and what they're willing to give up to find it." Mack concludes Hartley's statement in saying: "Its more of an argument that ends with the two parting ways, but finding each other again. Chloe needs to realise what she has in her life, and learn which is better - having someone that truly loves and cares about you, or keeping a job?" Last season, Bruce was very much an obstacle to overcome. At least for Oliver, who didn't seem to impressed - especially when he planted one on Chloe. Has Eliza been booked to the show as yet another obstacle? "Selina is very much looked at differently by each character," Mack shares, "to Chloe, she's annoying, a bit childish, and not the kind of person she wants to hang around. To Oliver, she's someone that needs saving. Someone he looks at and realises he has a second chance at helping someone [like he did with Mia]. And then there's Bruce, who has this connection with her he can't put his finger on. He's very much falling for the wrong girl. At least that's how Chloe is perceiving it." The relationship between Chloe and Oliver has been an amazing journey so far. They've gone from friends, to that of which holds benefits, to denying their feelings, to ultimately becoming an item. And now, are in Gotham, where Oliver is ready to propose."It's been so fun. I'm so excited to get to work so closely with Allison, I think she's an amazing actress," Hartley raved, Allison blushing with a small "thank you." Mack told Virtual Wonders that she enjoys how mature Chloe comes off in this relationship, and how its two adults who both deeply care about each other. "I think with Clark, it was this crush, and slowly built up to something that never happened for her. Then with Jimmy, who I hold a great deep of care and affection for Aaron [Ashmore], was a lot more 'growing up' and getting to understand what it meant to be in a relationship, and testing the waters, so to speak. The smart girl got the great guy. And I think now, with Oliver, its about finding your soulmate, and the struggles of a normal, honest relationship." Mack concluded in saying she believes Oliver is the right person for Chloe, and she hopes that when all is said and done, they'll still be together.

Alessandro [Juliani] is only in five episodes this season, That's so sad....i really like him!! Have the writers told you or Allison whether or not Chlollie is endgame? I know there's been a lot of fan discussion on whether he ends up with Chloe, or matches comic canon and takes off with Dinah -- Alaina Huffman is set to appear in several episodes this season -- but have the producers informed either one of you of the outcome? really?? really?? not here pleaseeeee.....no more talk about comic canon or Dinah...really it's so annoying...... she will appear in many episodes?? why? do we really need her?? I have been told that the producers have a 5 year plan for the show that's a wonderful news...5 years for sure?? that means 5 seasons?? ;D

My original idea was to have Emil be on the show for the entire series, but the way things escalated last season in writing the character, it didn't seem possible - so he'll only be in a couple of episodes in season two. With Dinah, she'll only be in a handful, nothing huge. As I've said, there is a huge Chloe/Oliver arc this season, and I think once the 'big' moment happens mid-season, you'll be very, very happy. I do have a five year plan, which does mean five seasons. Just depends on the reviews and how the show does, to get to that five year plan. I really hope I can get there, especially if I could reach 100 episodes of 'Watchtower.' About the secret Oliver is keeping, I'd love to narrow it down for you, but I don't want to ruin it. I'll just say its not personal - its not a disease he has, something from his past, etc. Its just something he's keeping from Chloe and the others. That episode is "Lockdown." I'm currently writing it now. Its a lot of fun to pen. Both Chloe and Bruce have these big things going on in their lives, and being locked in a building where there's a gunner on the loose really gets them talking - especially thinking this could be the end. Has some great moments in it -- and a good Chlollie outcome At the moment, and I know I'm going to get some backlash for this, BUT, I'm thinking around April/May. Only because I have 11 episodes to write for the first run, and need to get as many done before I begin airing. I want at least 6/7 written before the show returns. Won't be too hard. So probably around the time Smallville hits its final few episodes, or is finished completely, will be when Watchtower returns for season two

Exclusive: Dinah Returns, 'Dollie' + More! Actress Alaina Huffman has booked a recurring role on the show's second season as the crime fighting, Black Canary. VSGuide was lucky enough to grab an interview from the kickass actress, discussing her arc, episodes, and whether or not she can put an end to this Chlollie vs Dollie debate. "I'm back for a bunch of episodes, just here and there throughout the season," Huffman revealed, "and I'm really excited about it." The actress tells VSGuide that the show will be exploring the character of 'Dinah Lance' as opposed to the fishnets-wearing superhero, Black Canary. "She sets up camp here in Gotham, and even has her own business." In the comics, Dinah Lance is known to run a flourist shop. Huffman shares with us that we'll be seeing that come to fruition this season. "Dinah will be the sort of ... guiding light for Helena in her time of need. Someone she can look up to. Dinah helps her get a job at her shop, and we develop this friendship that will play out during the season. We're like sisters." The actress tells VSGuide that Dinah will also be a role model for Helena, in that, she shows her that you can lead these two very different lives, and make the most of it. Speaking of the comics, Dinah and Oliver Queen shared a marriage, that recently fell apart. "As much as I'd love to work closely with the Justin, who is just such a terrific actor, I don't think the producers want to take on a relationship that is 'doomed' to end. And that's what Dinah and Oliver are, they're an unhealthy, doomed relationship in the comics." Huffman went on to say she'd rather see them bring on Batgirl/Oracle for some good chemistry. "Something is definately going on between those two in the comics. I mean, wow," she laughed. The Mid-Season Finale, "War," involves the return of the Justice League. But will we see Dinah before the triumphant return? "No. Dinah returns with the rest of the gang, and decides to stay in Gotham." Huffman adds: "The first half is pretty tightly packed, from what I've heard, and I think the fans will really enjoy Dinah's return." She concluded in promising to stay away from the two love birds, jokingly. And when questioned about a regular spot down the line: "I'm in negotiations with the producers at the moment. They've been asking for quite some time, but I was too busy during the hiatus [for Watchtower]. Its a wait and see, at this point."

I could air the first seven episodes, have a small break, and then air another 5. It just depends how many I get done, at this point. So I'd say, March/April or May.

Exclusive: Producers Promise a 'Darker' Season! After the press release this morning, VSGuide was able to schedule an interview with the producers on a return date, and some information on the new season of Watchtower. The producers revealed that the network was looking for a much more edgier, darker season for 'Watchtower' to shake up the characters, especially Chloe Sullivan (who has been a character on television for many, many years now). "We personally feel its a great idea. Not only has the character been known to face trauma, and tragedy in her life, but how she overcomes that has always been what has evolved her, and turned her into the woman she is today," producers shared, excited about the changes. "We were already taking a step down a darker road with introducing the Dark Knight, and from that point on, things will grow deeper and deeper." The show follows the character of Chloe Sullivan, who has faced many traumatic events in her life. As of last season, things started to look up for her -- Oliver was ready to propose, she was reunited with her parents. "Because of the changes, we won't be giving tragic ends to all the stories being told on the show. The humor will still be there, and the romance between Chloe and Oliver will still be blossuming." Allison Mack had this to say about the changes: "I'm really excited. I think our characters will be shaken up this year, and you'll definately be able to relate to their pain, their real life struggles, and they'll become even more three dimensional than before." The actress is no stranger to playing darker characters. "One of my favourite things to do on Smallville was in "Legion" when I got to sink my teeth into the Brainiac character. And also, in the ninth season where Clark had the power of pursuassion, and Chloe was ordered to watch his back. The lengths she went to ... it was hilarious to play out." Producers have confirmed that they are currently planning to shorten the first run of episodes to have the season start earlier. "There's a lot of development in the first six to seven episodes, and so we're currently negotiating a late February, early March return." Excited about the darker changes to the season? Happy to see the show returning earlier than the expected April/May date? Sound off Below!

CASTING NEWS *Producers are currently in negotiations with actress Alaina Huffman (Dinah Lance, Black Canary) for a series regular spot on the show for this season. *Julian McMahon has been bumped up to series regular this year, playing the father of Helena Bertinelli, Guido. *Alessandro Julian's episodes have been revealed to be: "Identity," "Fear," "Arkham," "Sacrifice," and "War." *Laura Vandervoort has signed on to return as "Kara Kent" for two episodes this season. Her first appearance will be alongside the rest of the Justice League in "War."*Casting calls have gone out for two characters. The first, clearly fitting the description for "Scarecrow," but check out the second one: "A beautifully toxic woman who thrives with femininity, and devours men unworthy of her love. Her care and affection lies for only one thing, that of which transcends romance."

I'm really excited about Dinah as a series regular! Black Canary is awesome! I wonder what this means for Chloe & Oliver's future now that she'll be more present in their lives. Guess we're gonna have to just wait and see how it all plays out.

I'm really excited about Dinah as a series regular! Black Canary is awesome! I wonder what this means for Chloe & Oliver's future now that she'll be more present in their lives. Guess we're gonna have to just wait and see how it all plays out. At first she was only going to be in three-five episodes this season, just as a small role with Helena, but I think, with this bigger season, I don't have to make that 'storyline' so short, and I think Dinah has never really been 'fleshed out' on Smallville as much as I'd like her to be on Watchtower. In terms of Chloe and Oliver's future, I think I'm on shaky ground with some readers for bringing Dinah on board in a regular spot. All I'll say, which I've continued to say since the start of the season: I have a huge season long storyline planned for Chloe/Oliver that doesn't involve any third parties.

I'm glad you're excited about her coming on board. I don't think she'll be in a great deal of episodes this season (coming in more towards the second half of the season) ... BUT, I think she plays a huge role in the season, and hopefully seasons to come. What I needed was a character who would be a friend to Helena, someone from the outside. It couldn't be Chloe, or Oliver, or even Bruce. It needed to be someone else. And that's where Dinah will come into play. I hope you and other readers enjoy her 'arc' on the show
