I recently viewed almost all of Series 5 in its entirety, and I found it to be a terrific show. I debating whether I want to go back and see the new series from the beginning before I move onto Series 6.
Any Doctor Who fans here?

I am a BIG fan! I watched a bunch of seasons back to back and it left me with a temporary accent. Which went over really well here in TEXAS I can tell you XD.

I had watched a few episodes of the revived series off and on over the years, but after hearing good reviews (and reading some spoilers) for Series 5 and 6, I started watching the first season with Matt Smith.
Coming into the show at Series 5, despite my knowledge of some of the back story, it is definitely like watching a new show. The Doctor is a new actor with new companions (minus River, who appeared in David Tenant's last series/season) and new storyline.
It is sort how I felt with Stargate SG-1, when the Ori Storyline started. It felt like a new show as I was watching from the beginning, despite having watched the series regularly since Season 6.
Suffice it to say, Doctor Who is a great mix or fantasy, science and humor with just enough horror to satisfy most fans.
My only question is what will happen when the Doctor needs to regenerate himself beyond his race's self-imposed limit?

Well the limit was as you said is self- imposed and since there is no council he can approve more generations for himself XD.

I'm totally upset about Rose being left in a parallel world, though. It was so sad seeing her go. And the Doctor didn't even get the chance to tell her that he loved her, but I think she already knew. I saw the Christmas special with Donna, and my god, is she a character. Instantly fell in love with her. Now onto series three. xD

ROSE IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE! I cry every time I watch Doomsday! I dislike Martha very much but Donna is epic and I can't wait to see your reaction to when she comes back XD.

Doomsday was such a sad episode. But Rose had such an epic ending. I love that moment when she explains why she doesn't want to go to the parallel universe; she doesn't want the Doctor to be alone. Gah. There's no point shipping them though, or any relationship on this show, because the Doctor is cursed to be alone, which sucks. But, yes, I love Rose. She was my favourite character. xD

The show feels a lot different with Rose being gone.
The Doctor seems very lonely with Martha by his side.

That's cause Martha is too busy trying to get him to fall in love with her to comfort him and be his friend....I hate Martha.

I can't believe what happened to Donna Noble. I loved her. I mean, her whole journey on the show was about learning that she wasn't just a nobody, that she was special, and that she had a purpose. The Doctor helped her see that, and discover that, and it was amazing. I loved how she developed, and I loved her heart, her snark, her clever one liners ... and I loved her relationship with the Doctor. He needed a friend, and he got the best of the best. It really upsets me that she had that all stripped away from her. She doesn't get to remember any of it. I just hope it doesn't take her another lifetime to realise how special she truly is.
And I'm also annoyed at how they wrapped Rose up. She gets to be with the Doctor, but its not him, really. Technically, yes, but still. I prefered her ending in 'Doomsday.' Season Four didn't do Rose justice. When she returned, they made it look like she didn't belong. She couldn't make contact with the others, yet all the other companions could. She couldn't find the doctor, yet everyone else could. And when they were finally reunited, the world was crumbling around them, and he nearly died. I don't know. I felt like they should have brought Rose back when there wasn't so much going on, but its a sci-fi show, and the storyline was bloody brilliant. God, this show is amazing.
I could never choose between who is my favourite companion between Rose and Donna. They both fulfilled a role in the Doctor's life that he needed at each stage of his life, and they did it brilliantly. They're my favourite characters. And I'm totally spending the next few days ripping all the seasons (that I've seen so far) to start making videos. This is my new favourite show!

You have no clue how happy I am there is another person who shares my feelings on Rose and Donna!! I felt cheated by all they did with them, but of course they wanted to wrap them up "neatly" since David Tennant was leaving. I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL YOUR VIDEOS!! I am certain they will be spectacular as per the usual.
