I saw the trailer for it the other day. It looks great...I also can't wait for Operation Raccoon City. I miss Resident Evil Outbreak like you wouldn't believe. I played those online with my friends (one of them being robearsoul) for HOURS all the time XD I was SO mad when both the Outbreak games went offline. I'm glad to finally have another online, multiplayer RE game out besides Resident Evil 5. Don't get me wrong, I was glad that it's two player but...it just wasn't the same. I miss Raccoon City and all the zombies, and Nemesis and Mr. X. The only thing I'm iffy about is the fact that we're playing as Umbrella Security operatives... I mean, it's a cool concept but I liked playing as the survivors, in all honesty.

I'm more worried by its squad shooter thing. And the shooting of humans as well as zombies is just another thing I really don't like. Resident Evil is a survival horror series. The movies couldn't portray that and the games lost that idea from 4 onwards. For me, Resident Evil ended with Code: Veronica, everything after is just fun.
I doubt I will get Operation: Raccoon City, and just continue playing single player of the Outbreaks.

RE4 and RE5 were not Survival Horror in the slightest. I'm not happy with ORC being the squad shooter, but...at least it's back to zombies. I just wish they had kept it more Outbreak-style than this new style they like to keep trying. I want my classic RE back so bad.

They should make a Outbreak File #3 with everything from the first two plus a ton more. Lot's more levels, many more enemies, lots of items, constumes, endings, and a heap of unlockable characters. Having the option of online AND split-screen would also be nice.

That would be AMAZING. There was a rumor a long time ago that there was an Outbreak File #3, but then it like...disappeared. I stopped hearing about it. But I agree, that would be awesome. I would get that in a heart beat.

For now, we'll just have to make do with what we have. What I'm interested in is Resident Evil 6. I've heard it's going to be a reboot, so I'm hoping it goes back to Raccoon with zombies and not this Plagus stuff that they have now.

Resident Evil 6 will hopefully be better than what we've been getting. I'm so tired of stuff like RE4 and RE5. I'm SO over the Los Plagas/Uroboros XD I want the T-Virus back.

Set it back in Raccoon City, have it based on the T-Virus and make it a survival horror game, and they can't go wrong.
What would you like to see in the game?

All that you mentioned above would be fantastic. I'd like to see maybe an updated gameplay mechanic, similar to RE4/RE5 but not exactly, because that makes it too much of a shooter. I mean, if they don't change the gameplay I am FINE with that because unlike a lot of people, I honestly didn't mind the stop, aim straight, up or down and and shoot thing. I'd also like to seem them go deeper into the storyline from Umbrella's side. Like, the work that went on behind the scenes. Like with Wesker, Nicholai, all of them. Maybe not PLAY that part, because I love being the survivor and not the problem causer XD but...I dunno, like cutscenes and stuff to show us that. Not that they didn't do a good job of it before, because they did, but...you know what I mean?

Yeah, like having us a survivor but also showing Wesker and thats point of view through cut-scenes. That would be sweet.

Yeah exactly, I would LOVE that. I wanna see more lickers, too. That's totally random...but they are one of my favorite enemies in the entire series. XD

Lickers and Hunters. Lots of them and you have a "Game Of The Year"...hopefully. Unfortunately I doubt anything this good will happen, knowing Capcom lately.

Rant: Resident Evil (2002)[/u] - Aimee Nicole
Okay so, I feel like this rant, by me, is long overdue. These movies are the bane of my existence and in light of a few things I've heard about the new movie set to come out next year, this had to be done. I'll do all of the movies eventually (or all tonight if this rage fit stays). This is going to be coming from the words of an avid Resident Evil game fan who is extremely disgruntled by the fact that Paul W.S. Anderson took this amazing, iconic series and turned it into complete trash. In short, these movies were a bad fanfiction come to life. And by bad fanfiction, I mean really bad.
There were a gazillion things wrong with this film. Sure, the action was awesome, but the actual adaptation from game to film was terrible. Facts were destroyed, storylines were terribly warped. This movie was a start to the madness that ruined Resident Evil as a film.
The first thing I want to get out of the way is that the movie could not have even happened in the first place. Why? Because Spence broke the vial of the T-Virus and it "evaporated" into the ventilation system and spread throughout The Hive. This is not possible. The T-Virus was never airborne, and thus could not have been spread through the vents. It would have been useless unless someone licked it off the floor or something. Granted, they saved it a little by having the place flood with the sprinklers, because the virus is then able to infect via any open wound on any of the scientists. However, I stand by the fact that it WAS NOT possible for the computer to trigger the alert just because it cracked on the floor and got into the vents. Umbrella isn't dumb enough to create a problem for themselves like that.
The T-Virus was transferred by bite, scratch, ingestion, infection (through open wounds), etc. and injection. Each form of infection had different outcomes. Those directly injected with the virus didn't turn into zombies, they turned into Lickers. The movie got their information wrong.
Secondly, the Hive was not an underground office building with a lab inside. No. It wasn't even called the Hive, though I'll give it to them that that was a mighty creative name. The Hive was actually the Raccoon City Underground Research Facility, located beneath Raccoon City. It was a lab that was accessed via the Raccoon Police Station and a few other methods. None of which involved a mansion. The only lab to be accessed via a mansion was the Arklay Underground Research Facility, which was located underneath the Spencer Estate in the Arklay Mountains. The mountains were in Raccoon Forest, several miles from Raccoon City. "The Hive" was featured in both Resident Evil 2 and in the Resident Evil Outbreak scenario "Below Freezing Point". The only thing they got right about this lab was that it had a train that granted access to it.
Thirdly, the cameo appearance of Lisa Trevor was awful. Lisa Trevor was not an office worker. She was a nine year old girl who had her mother and father killed by Umbrella, and she was experimented on for years. She had so many strains of the virus in her that it screwed her up extremely badly. She was disfigured on the outside, but even though her body was nearly 40 years old by the time Resident Evil 1 (the game) took place, she had the mind of a nine year old still searching for her mother. She even wore her mother's face over her own, hoping that it would bring her mother back. She had also mutated so badly that she couldn't be killed. How can you take a story such as that and make her into a traitorous office worker? Ugh.
Next, the Lickers. The Lickers are born two ways. They are either humans directly injected with the T-Virus, OR they are Crimson Heads (or V-ACT Zombies. This happens when you kill a zombie and don't decapitate it or incinerate it) that have been left for too long and eventually mutate into the Lickers. The second part is questionable, even for the game, but we'll go with it for this rant's sake. The Lickers' main flaw in design was the fact that their brains were exposed and they were blind. This made them imperfect, which was the whole damn point. But the movies did not give them those flaws, making Umbrella discontinuation of that type of Bio-Organic Weapon ridiculous. Another thing they got wrong was the mutation. The Lickers do not mutate after "feeding", they mutate if they are killed and their bodies are not incinerated.
Last, being scratched by a Licker does NOT turn you into a crazy mutant tyrant thing. It turns you into a zombie. Crazy mutant tyrants are engineered differently. MUCH differently. But I'll get to that when I review Apocalypse. For now, I'm done with this one. XD What I WILL say about this movie, however, was that it was the most tolerable out of the four.

This video alone is better than the ENTIRETY of the Resident Evil film series.
