I have to agree. I'm pretty much done with marvel....well until the new young avengers series comes out Then I'll love marvel again. I at least thought after the shotstorm DC did with revamping there heroes, marvel would have the common sense to do it right And killing Peter Parker....just wait till Tony and Steve find out!!!

For all of the VPN comic book readers out there, would y'all be interested in reading/reviewing a series together? Basically we would decide on a series (or mini-series) and then read and issue or two at a time and review/discuss them together? I got the idea from here: forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?344006-Reading-the-Ultimate-Universe-from-the-beginning! I recently downloaded the main run of Marvel's Ultimate Universe and was looking for a reading order and stumbled across the activity/discussion in their forums. Would anyone be interested in this? If we can decide on a series I do not mind trying to head this up. Thoughts?

I have to admit that I am not a HUGE comic book reader. In fact I've maybe read a total of 20 my entire life. However, lately I've been wanting to get into reading them, and I think this would be a great way to start. I'd definitely do this.

Darrin, what comic book series are you interested in, or that you have access to, that could work for this?

I'd be down for anything, Chris. Pick a series and I'll make sure to get my hands on a copy.

Anyone else want to join us? I know there are more comic book readers around the network.

Okay, so, I thought about supporting Marvel's "All-New X-Men" series, but the more I see of it, the more I'm re-thinking that decision entirely. I loved Brian Michael Bendis' work on Ultimate Spider-Man, but he really needs to step off the X-Men because he doesn't know them at all. I mean, Emma Frost talks like she has a awful Southern accent and she is totally out of character in almost every line she speaks. I like what he's doing with Jean Grey, from what I've seen, but...I dunno, it seems like the rest of them fall flat compared to what they used to be. So I don't think I'll be supporting that book. However, I'm really interested in the all-female relaunch of the X-Men series. That is gonna be pretty awesome. Also thinking about supporting Fearless Defenders as well. If I do, this'll be the first time I've actually subscribed to a comic series as it comes out and I think I'd feel pretty good about supporting those books.

So, I finished reading "Blackest Night" today (I know, I'm pretty behind), and... omg. Omg. OMG. I loooooooved it! Ugh, I just thought it was perfect. All of the characters that were in there (and there were A LOT) all had a purpose, and there were so many twists and turns and ugh... READ THIS IF YOU HAVE NOT.

I do think that Marvel and DC are trying to get the next big event ready for the Summer, with Marvel just releasing "Age Of Ultron." I read Batman: Death Of The Family storyarc, and it was scary as hell itself with ...well read the book to find out.
I do have a great collection of digital comics on my Nook I read while I get ready for work. I just read JLA/Avengers on my Nook, and it was great than just reading it on my computer. I just wish DC stops making more comics to replace their cancelled ones for their New 52 thing and bring back the Wildstorm imprint.
