At the moment, my sister is trying to prepare a 5-lesson-plan on the concept of a hero, and she came to me asking what my concept of it was, who my heroes are, and what springs to mind when I think of the word 'hero.' Basically, I thought this was a great discussion to open up on theVPN. You know, this site has so many shows that have a definitive hero, or group of heroes, that are showcased at the forefront of their series. The Outcasts has Spider-Girl, and a whole group of mutants - people who aren't accepted by society, yet, still fight for these people. The Path Not Taken has this woman, Jenny, who has suffered some great hardships, but has fought through them and came out stronger. Basically, I think this could open up a lot of great discussion to talk about: A) Who are your heroes, and why? B) What is your understanding/concept of a hero? C) What are the qualities that you look for in a character to perceive them as a hero? Whether its super-strength, their own sense of mortality, and humanity, or whether its something that you can relate to, or aspire to? There are so many other great things to talk about, and hopefully I can point this thread into the direction of my sister who could use some help with this project for university. XD
