INTERVIEW EXCLUSIVE: JONAS ARMSTRONG & ARIELLE KEBBEL TALKS BITTEN, THEIR CHARACTERS AND POSSIBLE SPOILERS! [/b][/size][/center] Early yesterday it was announced that The VPN had picked up Bitten, a supernatural/drama by creator Darrin McCann. Last night we caught up with Bitten stars Jonas Armstrong, and Arielle Kebbel, at a production party, and asked them about the show, their characters and possible spoilers! VSGUIDE: So, How did you find out about the pick-up of Bitten? ARIELLE: Funny story actually. I was sitting drinking my morning coffee and reading the newspaper when I got this phone call from Darrin. He was hysterical. I couldn't make out a word he said. Finally I said, Whoa dude, calm down, pronounciate. [laughs] Then I was really excited, and went into hysterics. [laughs] VSGUIDE: What can you tell us about your character? JONAS: Will's a complicated fella. He's trying to be a man, but at the same time he's acting like a child by running away from his responsiblities. And he's got a curse. Complicated. ARIELLE: And then he meets Sara, and everything goes horribly wrong. [laughs] JONAS: [laughs] It's true, he gives up one set of responisiblities for another. VSGUIDE: You two seemed to have the right mix of chemistry, does this come through with your characters? JONAS: Yeah, Will and Sara hit it off instantly. They meet at a time in their lives when they need something normal, little do they know that they have to fight for that normality. ARIELLE: Exactly. Love at first sight. It's rare, and unusual but it happens. But the thing these two people don't understand is that no love is perfect, so I think there will be struggles. VSGUIDE: So what's instore for these characters? ARIELLE: Secrets. Big, big secrets. [laughs] VSGUIDE: Care to dish? ARIELLE: Well Crescent Bay isn't your normal, average town. It's a town built on secrets, and scandals and I think that if you live in this town you have a secret. So expect big reveals from all characters. VSGUIDE: Recently, Hudson Leick was added to the recurring cast as Louise Hale, Sara's deceased mother. Um, deceased? ARIELLE: [laughs] Yeah, things are not what they seem. Louise is dead. She died, but that doesn't stop her from walking around. Again another big secret. VSGUIDE: You're not really giving away too many secrets? What gives? JONAS: Darrin will kill us. I fear for my life. ARIELLE: Diddo. I guess people will just have to tune in and watch the drama unfold. Or more then likely, explode. [laughs] VSGUIDE: Thank you so much for taking the time to talk with us, guys. JONAS: It was our pleasure. VSGUIDE: Excited about Bitten and what's to come? Sound off in the discussion thread. And stay connected to Bitten, coming soon!

INTERVIEW EXCLUSIVE: BITTEN’S SHOWRUNNER SITS DOWN AND TALKS US THROUGH HIS UNIVERSE [/b][/size] [/center] Recently we got the chance to sit down with Bitten’s showrunner, Darrin McCann, who graciously stepped away from the computer long enough to chat with us, and answer some pretty tough questions. VSGUIDE: How’s the writing going? DARRIN: Slower then I had anticipated. VSGUIDE: Well, what’s the hold up? DARRIN: A combination of many things, mostly due to my ever changing mind. [laughs] The more I write the more I add to the overall mythology. Items, ideas, situations, relationships, they keep growing and changing and it’s really putting the screws to my simplistic ideas I originally had. [laughs] VSGUIDE: Sounds intense. With all these new ideas and such coming forward, what can we expect from Bitten. DARRIN: Well in the first two episodes the Bitten gang are divided with individual and separated group problems that culminate into a joint story by the end of each episode. The third episode is more of a character-building episode where everything is more emotional and raw. However in order to keep it interesting I had to throw in a villain. VSGUIDE: But as a whole what can people expect? DARRIN: I hope you don’t expect anything, I don’t need that pressure. [laughs] I’m trying to put as many twists and turns as I possibly can because that’s what excites me in a show. I’m not a huge fan of shows that pussy foot around “secrets” or give a direct conclusion at the end of each episode. I like shows that keep me guessing ‘what’s going to happen next’ but keeps me satisfied with enough answers at the end of the day and I really hope that Bitten does that. VSGUIDE: You mentioned that episode three was more about the characters, so the tough question would be: do you have a favorite to write? DARRIN: I love all my characters equally, but Gwen is definitely a favorite of mine, as well as Griffon. I find they have some of the best lines, mostly because they are sassy and sarcastic which I think they get from me. [laughs] VSGUIDE: Specifically speaking, what can you tell us about the Bitten universe? DARRIN: Well in the Bitten universe the werewolves of today have actually evolved just as humans have done. They are no longer ‘monsters’ but actual wolves. Bitten werewolves however still cling to their hunger for human flesh, and that’s a battle they have everyday, however the rejection of this is easier for some then others. They are not controlled by the lunar cycle, but are still deathly allergic to silver. There is actually a werewolf monarchy that descends from the original werewolf Remus, as well as a counter-culture that rejects the idea of Remus being the original werewolf, and following the belief that his younger brother Romulus was the original werewolf. Vampires, and witches also exist in the Bitten universe as well as an array of other things that go bump in the night. All this will be explored in the first season. VSGUIDE: This all sounds extremely fascinating but complex. DARRIN: That’s really just the tip of the iceberg. [laughs] VSGUIDE: How much research, if any, did you put into this project? DARRIN: A lot of what I write is simply an image flash, or a small idea that I build on. Not a lot of research is done. I will admit that the idea of Remus and Romulus comes from the mythology of the birth of Rome. I expanded on the idea of these two brothers and warped it to fit my universe. There are also elements of the show that are influenced by different mythologies throughout the world, especially in the first season. I try to stay clear of research because it distracts me. [laughs] I have found in the past that sometimes I procrastinate by researching, and researching and researching. [laughs] VSGUIDE: When can fans expect Bitten to start airing? DARRIN: Honestly that is the furthest thing from my mind right now. [laughs] I’m in the process of writing episode four, and after that I have three more to write before I can even set an airdate so we’ll see. Hopefully sooner rather then later. I’m aiming for a Fall launch, and now that my schedule is starting to settle down I feel more confident with that goal. VSGUIDE: Well, thank you for taking the time to talk with us, now get back to work. DARRIN: [laughs] My pleasure. VSGUIDE: There you have it folks. Inside the mind of showrunner Darrin McCann. Have any questions or comments, sound off in the discussion board and stay connected to Bitten, coming soon!

EXCLUSIVE: AND THE WINNER IS... [/b][/size][/center] Bitten's first contest has come to a close and the winner is... Amin. We got a chance to sit down with Bitten's showrunner, Darrin McCann, and he had this to say about Amin's character. "Amin's character is going to be a formidable foe by chance. He's not really after anyone in particular but takes a keen interest in Sara. And from this courtship comes a lot of darkness, and possible bloodshed." When asked if there could be a major death coming to Crescent Bay, Darrin had this to say: "No ones safe." Congratulations to Amin! INTERVIEW EXCLUSIVE:
ABBIE CORNISH & IAN HARDING TALK EPISODE FIVE AND AMY ACKER? [/b][/size][/center] The stars of theVPN's BITTEN were out in full force last night at the Magnetic 84' Production party for the newly released movie The Boogeyman. We caught up with Abbie Cornish and Ian Harding and talked a little shop on the red carpet. VSGUIDE: So, How's everything going on the set of Bitten? ABBIE: Really great, actually. We just got back to filming this past weekend. Episode five in fact. And everythings back in full swing. VSGUIDE: That's great to hear. Can you give us a little snippet of what we can expect? IAN: Well, Jeremy definitely gets a boot in the pants in episode five. [laughs] ABBIE: [laughs] It's true. A friend, well, kinda friend, from Gwen's past breathes into Crescent Bay bringing a dark secret from Gwen's past with her. It kinda puts the screws to the growing, possible relationship with Jeremy. And then there's also another death in Crescent Bay, some cheating, and some kidnapping. I don't think any of the characters are safe. [laughs] IAN: I think a lot of things happen that changes each of the characters in this episode. VSGUIDE: Death, cheating and kidnapping, oh my. [laughs] Tell me a little more about this death. Anyone important? IAN: There's actually a few deaths that take place in this episode, but the death, I think, both of us are talking about actually happens at the end of episode four but is not discovered and dealt with until episode five. So, to answer your question, yes and no. I mean it really depends on how you look at it. This character's death will affect everyone but on different levels. Is it sad he's dead, well probably not but is it sad how it affects certain characters, yes. ABBIE: Yeah, I think the fallout from it will draw lines between the characters, for sure. VSGUIDE: Lately there's been some big name guest stars added to the roster of Bitten, can we see this trend continuing? ABBIE: Oh for sure. In fact we just found out that Angel alum Amy Acker will appear in the end stretch of the first season. VSGUIDE: Amy Acker? Wow. That's big news. What can you tell us about her character? IAN: Not a heck of a lot, actually. [laughs] Not cause we don't want to, just because we get our scripts one at a time. We never know that far in advance. But what I have heard her role is big. Big as in big bad. But that's between us. [laughs] Just so were all clear I'm starting the "Save Jeremy" petition now because Darrin's going to fire me tomorrow. [laughs] ABBIE: I'll sign it. [laughs] VSGUIDE: Me too! [laughs] Well thank you both for stopping and giving us some big news and huge spoilers. ABBIE: No problem, it was our pleasure. IAN: Just don't forget to sign the petition. [laughs] VSGUIDE: You heard it here first, folks. Amy Acker joining BITTEN and possibly the big bad. Let the salivating commence. Sound off in the discussion thread. And stay connected to Bitten, coming soon!
