Six months ago, with the outbreak of gang violence and criminal behavior, a bill was passed by the governments of the world to ship every man and woman with outstanding criminal records (mostly murderers, thieves, gang members, serial rapists, etc...) to a massive and remote island in, what seemed to be, the middle of nowhere. Known, simply as, ''Gangland,'' by the criminals who reside there, it serves as a prison for those who have proved themselves to be far less than model citizens. Confined to the island, as the surrounding ocean is infested with sharks, salt-water crocodiles, and more; there is no escape. The government-funded project has been active for half a year, and even though there is no physical government presence on the island, they have been known to send survival packs. However, no such package has been delivered in over a month, which causes an uproar within the already violent population.
This series follows a group of thugs, bandits and other criminals as they attempt to stay alive on the criminal-ruled island. Also, low on supplies, the islanders will do anything in their power to make sure their group gets what they need, even if it means wiping out another; and as a number of different affiliations and gangs rise up, they make it their business to either evade them, or take them down, in hopes of becoming the island's most feared, and respected.
Welcome to Gangland. Where the rules of society, no longer exist.

CHARACTERS
Marcus Holden has been in the business of killing since the age of sixteen. He took his first life as an initiation into the Blood Lords, a very dangerous gang in Lower City Los Angeles. After escaping a "highly fortified" prison in Idaho, he soon slips back into his life of crime, drugs, and death. Then, the Gangland project was launched, and he was captured. Waking up on a remote island in the middle of nowhere, he puts together a crew of guys almost as bad as he is, and claims the island for himself, but there are hundreds of men, just as powerful and dangerous as him, that beg to differ. Marcus is a bad guy; plain and simple. There is no moral conflict in his heart (at least none that we can see). No inner turmoils. He is a killer. Getting what he wants, without asking questions, Marcus is the one of the best candidate possible that can get him and his own to the top of the barrel.

NOTES:
"Gangland" is a drama series at its core, with a strong western vibe. The show, itself, is not something even I would imagine myself doing, but the concept has been screaming at me for a while now, and I just thought I've give it a physical voice. The ensemble cast will be a natural fit for the character driven tone of the show. The pitch is not fully developed as of yet, but will be added on frequently.
