"Forget everything we ever knew, or believed in..."
Professor Thomas Lake is a teacher at a University, whose personal belief is that the Holy Bible is a ficticious lie, to hide the truth about our own past and history of where humanity came from. For decades, he has searched for some form of evidence to prove what he preaches, which has lead him into conflict with his colleagues, students and even the Dean of the University on many occasions.
When he's contacted by his ex-wife, Mia, who he hasn't heard from in over a decade since they parted ways. It leads the two on a journey into the deepest jungles of Africa, and reports from a man regarding notes and carvings on the interior of a volcanic mountain that has laid dormant for a long time. It sends the Professor on a journey to uncover the truth, and look for an item codenamed 'The Scripture' that is said contains the true history and knowledge of humanity's birth.
As he sets off to Africa, along with his trusted colleague (Lei), a student (Tessa Murphy) who seems infatuated with Lake and taken along to record the adventure, and supported by his ex-wife (Mia) and an ex-sas soldier for protection (Bruiser). The group encounter Armando Nesta, a man whose personal intentions are only defined by the wealth he can receive from helping them, who leads them into the jungle and within the confines of the tallest dormant volcanic mountain, Kilimanjaro.
Where inside, Lake and the team discover the secrets that has been hidden from the world for millions of years. The 'Scripture', which holds the knowledge of past and can finally provide evidence to Lake's beliefs. But, the greed of what is discovered grows too much for Nesta who steals the Scripture and leaves the others for dead, buried alive within the mountain.
The group soon realise they must escape, and return the scripture to it's rightful place as Mia soon uncovers not only the reason why the scripture was buried there, but the removal of it unleashes a dangerous enemy of alien existence, dormant since the birth of humanity and more powerful than Heaven & Hell that is set to be unleashed and could be the catalyst of the world's population becoming extinct on our own planet that hasn't been witnessed for the past 65 million years.... when dinosaurs became extinct from our world.

The Professor has been hindered in his search for the truth, and the 'Scripture' for decades with little luck. A man who is driven by his own personal beliefs that there is more to humanity's beginnings than we are lead to believe. Unfortunately, his search for the truth could result in the downfall of humanity altogether.
Mia (Portrayed by Rachel Weisz)
Mia is an expert on ancient languages, and the ex-wife of the Professor who got divorced from him over ten years prior due to his drive to find the truth that pulled them apart. Her feelings for him have never faded though, and she finds herself soon believing everyone of his crazy ideas, but conflicted with the actions of what they have done that could change humanity's future.

Bruiser is an ex-sas military man, who has seen death and war and lived to tell the tale. He's as hard as they come, and has a deep passion more than most for violence. He finds himself hired by Mia as the protector of the group while searching for the scripture in Africa. But finds that this could be the toughest test he has ever met, and an enemy unlike anything faced before in which he may not make it back alive.

Tessa is a student at the University under Professor Lake, and has a huge crush on him - even though he's more than twice her age. She joins the adventure as an understudy to record everything that is discovered on his behalf and immediately has a dislike to Mia (Lake's Ex) who she sees as getting between her and the Professor, but soon finds herself wishing she was back home in the warmth of her dorm and friends.
Notes:
This was my entry into January's MOTM, and winner. I believe their is potential here for a movie, and MJ's interest in it also give me the idea to try and make something of it if I can.
The film would be considered a thriller/horror, about the search for our past and uncovering things that should be left buried for eternity which could result in our own extinction upon Earth by things we do not yet understand.
Think of it as Indiana Jones meets Alien, sort of lol.
