Interview Exclusive: Famke Janssen talks "Heroes Never Die"! The news has been broken! The Outcasts' mock-finale, "Heroes Never Die", has been given an official airdate: Tuesday, July 24th, 2012!. With the end of the show's original debut season less than a week away, VSGuide was caught up with the actress who portrays the woman who the producers tease to be the central character in the finale -- Famke Janssen! VSGUIDE | What can we expect from the finale?JANSSEN | A lot of action, sadness, a lot of death and chaos. It's pretty wild. The producers weren't kidding when they said it would go out with a "bang". You kind of go into it knowing that no one is safe and anything can happen. VSGUIDE | The Marauders and the Demogoblin are said to team up. With a team like that, the X-Men are obviously going to duke it out with them. Will this struggle end up with many fatalities?JANSSEN | More than I think anyone wants to admit. There are fatalities on both sides, some more heavy than others. It's a mess, really. VSGUIDE | It's been said that a few of the deaths are "main" characters. How many of them are X-Men? JANSSEN | There has been one confirmed death, but I'd personally argue with that and say two. A lot of them are still up in the air though, so you'll just have to wait and see. VSGUIDE | I'm guessing we can expect a ton of twists, turns and unexpected things to happen in the finale, correct?JANSSEN | That would be correct. [laughs] Just when you think you've got it figured out, things could take a sharp turn. Like I said, it's pretty wild. VSGUIDE | We understand there is a character with a questionable name entering for this episode. Can you explain this... "Mindfuck" character?JANSSEN | From my understanding, the character is the "alternate" to a character from the X-MEN comics named "Lady Mastermind". But the producers didn't feel that using the name "Lady Mastermind" was appropriate because the character whom Lady Mastermind's pulls her name from has never been on the show, and the other possible alias was "Mastermind II", which wouldn't have worked either. [laughs] "Mindfuck" was their only acceptable answer, I guess. She was originally meant to be Jean's equal, or close to it, but as the episode progressed, the role changed into what you'll see when the episode airs. VSGUIDE | Will Jean be kicking any ass?JANSSEN | Lots of it. [laughs] She goes head to head with a few different people, but the most important battle she has will be with the Demogoblin. VSGUIDE | Will the Phoenix Force play a role in the finale?JANSSEN | The Phoenix Force actually plays a huge role in the episode. It's the main reason why Jean and those closest to her are so important in this episode. Everything that happens, both around her and to them, sets it all in motion. Whether it turns out to be bad or good, you'll just have to wait and find out. VSGUIDE | We've seen Kristen and Jean become closer and closer throughout the season, can we expect their relationship to be a big factor in the finale?JANSSEN | Oh yeah, definitely. Their relationship and how close they've gotten is crucial to the outcome of the conflict. I can't say any more than that. VSGUIDE | It's been said that a character will make a move that will, ultimately, prove fatal for her team. Can you confirm what team?JANSSEN | The Brotherhood. The move -- or decision really, is made by Mystique. But I guess you could say that her decision also effects everyone else, too. VSGUIDE | The finale is something that many people have been waiting for. Do you think the fans will be satisfied?JANSSEN | I hope so. [laughs] We've all worked really hard on this episode to make it what it is. This is the end of this world, this universe, and you only get one shot. I just hope we took the right one. And there you have it, folks! What are your thoughts on the finale? Excited? Worried? Sound off below, and stay tuned for more news on the finale, as well as the upcoming reboot!

The current season will remain the "current season" until the vDVD is released, which will be in the next week or so. After the vDVD is released, this thread (as well as the others in the Season One subforum) will be archived. It will still be up and all episodes will remain viewable, as well as every thread currently available. However, it'll be separated from the new, rebooted season as to not confuse anyone.

I'm totally behind on Outcasts. Just about to read the mock finale. quick question: where did Famke go? Sorry, I moved your post to the debut season's spoiler thread instead of the reboot's -- but to answer your question, Famke was part of the recasts that we did for the reboot. She will no longer be playing Jean Grey for the time being, that role has been given to Danneel Harris. There is an interview in the reboot's spoiler thread that explains most of it, if you wanna read that.
