F4 (Fanstastic Four Reboot Film)

Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben are four friends who have been chosen to be part of a experiment known as the Kirby Project. When the experiment goes wrong that alters the four with strange powers, with Reed with the power to stretch his body, Sue to become invisible and create force fields, Johnny to control fire and become it, and Ben a orange monster known only as the Thing.

Reed and the others aren't the only ones with changes, but Bentley, a genius like Reed, has the power of flight and the power to blast beams from his hands. Also, a man calling himself Mole Man who works for Bentley, has created an army of creatures from the underground and plans to unleash them to the surface.

Now Reed and the others must join forces to battle The Wizard and Mole Man to save New York from the two villains. This is a retelling of Marvel's first family, before they became what they are now.


NOTE: After hearing about the new FF movie flopped, I thought I would pitch a better version of the FF without a certain Doctor as the main villain. Every version made has been about FF against Doom, but what about other villains like Wizard and Mole Man? This is where my movie comes in as I wanted to do a origin story of the FF before they were popular and became a family. I kind of wanted this to be the first of a Marvel Trilogy with F4, Spider-Man, and X-Men ending the series.


Cast:

Jennifer Lawrence as Sue Storm: Daughter of a wealthy scientist, and sister of Johnny Storm, Sue is a strong woman with martial art skills. But after the Kirby Project incident, Sue can use the power of invisibility and create force fields. Sue will play a major role in the film.

Drake Bell as Johnny Storm: Hotheaded brother to Sue Storm, Johnny is into extreme sports and race cars. He joined his sister in the Kirby Project that made him into a living fire known as The Torch. Still hotheaded with his powers, Johnny still need to work with the team.

Liam Hemsworth as Ben Grimm/The Thing: An old friend of Reed from childhood, Ben got an offer to join Reed in the Kirby Project that turned him into an orange rock monster Bentley calls The Thing. Ben hatred for Reed makes him leave, until he meets a blind artist named Alicia Masters. When the Wizard and Mole Man attack New York, Ben must decide to fight or stay hiding.


Note 2: I Haven't cast Reed, Wizard, and Mole Man yet. All I can say is that you will see monsters in this film like in the Lee/Kirby comics.

I think part of the problem with reboots is seeing this kind of regurgitated origin story told that requires certain cardinal elements to play out again and again, and when something doesn't quite click -- in this case, the antagonist of Doctor Doom being blamed for the flop of a rebooted franchise -- that origin story is slightly tweaked and regurgitated again in an adaptation that is advertised as being more faithful to the comics, or at least more faithful to the essence of the source material and the characters/universe that plays out in that material.

The problem I'm having with this pitch is it's basically another Fantastic Four origin story, only this time it's got two different antagonists for these heroes to go up against.  You've said you wanted to do "better version" of a movie that has flopped but you're only changing one aspect of it -- an aspect that wasn't even the main concern of the new Fantastic Four movie being a "flop."  I would suggest finding a fresh take on something that's been adapted twice now in the past decade, and finding a way to make this stand on its own rather than being the answer to a failed reboot, or the proposed solution to why a reboot failed, ie. taking Doctor Doom out of the equation.  

Obviously an origin story has certain cardinal elements that can't be removed without changing the very fabric of "Fantastic Four" but you can find new and creative ways to tell that origin story.  For example, if a character suffered temporary amnesia and slowly had to gain those memories back, we could see the origin be told in a way that doesn't require 30 pages of the same old story.  Another example would be if it was time-altering film, the villain goes back to make sure they never become the Fantastic Four, and we only see their origin in the climax of the film where they're forced to stop this villain from erasing their future as heroes.  Ultimately, there are a multitude of ways you can do a retelling of a story an audience has seen time and time again without having to be repetitive.

Time travel could be a great idea, having the FF meet their past selves before the events that changed them. I chose the Wizard as the Villain as many fans are tired of Dr. Doom as the villain of the films. I'll rework the pitch to your idea.
