Exclusive: 'Casting' Scoop! Eliza Dushku has been cast as the nine-lives feline, Catwoman. You're probably thinking this is too good to be true! Where's the catch? Well, unfortunately, we don't know exactly when or if she'll become her comic book counterpart, but we have it on good authority that Selina Kyle will "very much be a part of the show." What's her role in the new season? Producers have already confirmed that there will NOT be a season long villain like the first installment of the series, but Selina and Chloe will have some rivalry at the office - what office is that? Gotham Daily of course! Selina joins the paper in the season premiere and the character takes off from there. "Like the character of Bruce, Selina is a very complex character," producers said, "and we'll explore that during the whole season. You'll have to wait and see if her alto ego is a part of the show. That's all we can say at this point about the character." Excited? What do you think about the casting? Would you like to see Catwoman this season? Sound off below!

Exclusive: Back from the Dead?
In the season finale of 'Watchtower', Alessandro Juliani's character "Emil Hamilton" met his demise at the hands of Amanda Waller. But as we all saw, something was brewing in the final shot of the season - ending with a daunting shot of a project known as 'Respawn', in which we saw Emil alive! The actor has been kind enough to sit down with VSGuide and talk about his return for the second season.
"I think the finale was very fulfilling, and a fitting end to the character of Emil Hamilton," Juliani informed us, "no, I didn't want him to die, but, how it was pulled off with Amanda Waller and their final confrontation, I had no complaints." The actor told us that he knew when the show began that he was a one season character - "They wanted someone from the past to be a villain in the first season, and luckily enough, I was approached."
But what about next season?
"As we saw, Emil had a backup plan," he responded, "and how that comes into play next season will be fun to work with. I already know what this project is, and how the character might wrap up, so I'm very excited to come back." Alessandro Juliani told VSGuide that he'll be back for a handful of episodes, peppered throughout the first half of the season.
But will this new Emil be working for Chloe, or against? '
"That's a good question." The actor laughed. "Emil has always tried to justify his actions and we know that he wanted to do something with his life and have something to show for it - whilst improving the human race. Wrong, but in his mind, justified. I can't tell you Emil's role next season without spoiling the premiere [which we haven't shot it]. But I will say that Chloe has a lot to deal with, forces more powerful than Emil ever was."
The second season of Watchtower enters production at the end of December - getting ready for an early return in 2011. Stick around for more news and updates! |

Exclusive: Bale Promises 'Big Things' Bruce Wayne returns from Japan, having full closure on his feelings for Chloe, and his desperate need to avenge his parents murder with vengeance. Being a public figure, this draws Gotham Daily reporters Chloe Sullivan and Selina Kyle in to get the scoop on why he left, and what brought him back - the questions we fans are dying to get answered! "He left to seek guidance, and to find a purpose in life that doesn't involve chasing down girls and being trapped in the past," actor Christian Bale told VSGuide. "As we all know, in Japan, Bruce trains to become the superhero vigilante, Batman, and that's exactly what you'll see him become in the first few episodes of the season." Did I just hear that right? The Dark Knight begins? "Its going to be an interesting dynamic that plays out. As this figure, this vigilante, he's a completely different person in Chloe's eyes - a hero," Bale revealed. "This draws her in, and you no longer have a triangle between Chloe and two men, but Chloe and two heroes." Producers have confirmed to me that there will not be a triangle, exactly, as the show plummets deep into the relationship of Chloe and Oliver, but, Chloe will form a fascination for this big black bat. "The journalist in her is intrigued." "The overal theme for this season has definately been about identity. How you can forge your own. How you can change it. How you can just be yourself or become someone else." The actor promises some juicy storylines that hit that note - that theme - and tells us to expect a lot of great character moments and development that you didn't get to see much of in the first season. "Its not just a bigger season, but its a whole lot better." The character of Bruce Wayne brought a very complex story to the show, one that was fun to follow and made Watchtower even more interesting. He adds a quality that just isn't there when Bruce is gone. Unfortunately, the character wasn't in as many episodes as we'd have liked last year. Can we expect more this upcoming season? "The episode counts are still unknown at this point. I think, sadly, it might be a tune in and find out, like a few episodes that aired last season," the actor responded. "But the producers have told me a lot about this season, and I know Bruce is a huge part of it. For whatever episodes he is featured in, there'll be a lot of to see with his character." At the moment, sources confirm the only person of the main cast contracted to appear in every episode is Allison Mack. Excited about seeing the Dark Knight featured on Watchtower? Happy to see Bruce back from Japan? Sound off below!

Small article from VSGuide:
Numerous reports have indicated that Elise Gatien is set to return during the sixth episode of the season - entitled "Speedy." The actress, who is yet to receive a script, gave us a bit of insight as to what she's been told.
"All I know at this point is that you can expect Mia to have returned knowing full well who she is, her purpose in life, and where she wants to go from here," the actress told VSGuide, "I get to play hero." She laughed. "It's going to be a lot of fun."
The actress refused to tell us if we'll be seeing her for more episodes this season, or if she'll come back to do more in the future. "You'll see Mia back this season, that's all I can say."
Excited about her return? Want to see her in more episodes? Dreading her return? Sound off below! |
