Merlin S4 is awesome so far! Anyways, back on topic: I think I'm warming up to the Tenth Doctor. I'm not a huge fan of David Tennant, but the transition is a lot easier than I thought it would be. Still, I'm looking forward to him leaving already so I can start watching the Eleventh lmfao Edit: So not looking forward to Rose Tyler's departure though.

I'm not sure if I've said this on here, but I never really gave Series Three a chance. I didn't want to move on from Rose Tyler, and I loved her so much I never gave Martha Jones a chance. And when they teased us with Donna Noble in "The Runaway Bride" I was dying to see her as the companion, because she was just too awesome. So I mainly skipped over Series Three, after watched like the first three episodes. But I went back, and am about half way through Series Three now, and I absolutely LOVE Martha Jones. I have no idea why I hated her before :/
Anyway, just an update on my Who-obssession. The characters I can remember the most though, and will probably consider my favourites (don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore Rose), would have to be: River Song and Donna Noble. xD

Yes, I love Martha Jones as well xD I'm up to 3x10 right now, and I'm completely in love with her character! I still miss Rose, but Martha is a great character. I watched "The Runaway Bride," with Donna Noble, and fell asleep on it. I think it was just because I was tired though. I'll probably watch it again after I've finished series 3.

Donna Noble | Paradise
I made a little tribute video to my favourite character on Doctor Who to the song "Paradise" by Coldplay. Yes, I'm pimping my own videos, hahaha. xD

I actually liked the Tenth doctor, just as much as the Eleventh. I think Matt Smith's doctor is much more cool, and funny in a "he cracks me up," kind of way. While David Tennant's Doctor was goofy, and playful and I couldn't help but grow to love him in his time as the Doctor. But, when it came to the companions, Ten definitely saw the best of them (Rose Tyler, Martha Jones, Donna Noble). I'm really not a fan of poor old Amy Pond, or Rory for that matter. But, I guess River Song makes up for it, quite a bit

Yeah, Amy and Rory aren't the most interesting characters in the universe, that's for sure!

Just thought I'd finally poke my head in here. XD I'm disappointed that you guys don't seem to be very big fans of Amy and Rory, next to Rose those two are by far my favourite. As for the others, like Jack, Martha kind of fell by the wayside for me, because I was too busy wishing Rose was still around. I didn't like Donna or River at all, the latter mainly because I was still not over Rose. The only characters I can't seem to choose between on the show are The Doctor's - I love them all for different reasons. Reading back, I was also thrilled to discover how many Merlin characters have been on Doctor Who - I never noticed before! - mainly because Eoin Macken and Georgia Moffett from The Lady of Time have both spent time on that show. XD Anyway, if you haven't already seen it, I would recommend watching the following videos, even if you're not too big of fans of the most recent companions. I found them just last weekend, and I have not been able to get enough. I've also just started watching Torchwood, from the beginning as previously I've only seen Miracle Day and Children of Earth, and I have to say that I really like it. Maybe not as much as Doctor Who, because having watched the end of Torchwood first I feel like all I'm doing is waiting for Jack and Ianto to get together. What bothers me about it is, like you all said, it's very sexually driven. The fact that Gwen has kissed two guys (and a girl) who aren't her boyfriend in just the first four episodes bothers me immensely, and quite frankly reminds me of Glee. And the second episode of the first season is entirely based on an alien who thrives off the energy produced by climaxes, which was why my parents never let me start the series any earlier. I remember watching that episode with my Dad a few years ago, and it was extremely awkward. So although I recommend Torchwood, I wouldn't recommend watching it with your parents or any younger siblings.

Awww, I've never met a Doctor Who fan before who didn't like Donna Noble. I guess, each to their own. I always found her to be the most human character on the show, and her relationship with the Doctor was the most enjoyable. The truth is, there is no companion on Doctor Who that I dislike. But, with Amy, it was hard to get invested in her as much as the others, and her relationship with the Doctor, when Rory became such a huge part of the show, and her life.
And to me, River Song overshadows them so much, and her storyline is so much richer and more interesting than "The Girl and Guy who waited." So, I don't know -- when Amy and Rory inevitably leave the show, I hope they get a fantastic, and epic send off to the likes of 'Doomsday' and 'Journey's End.'

I agree with Jack. It was hard for me to get invested in Amy and Rory, as much as the other companions. Come to think of it, I can remember and note dozens of great moments involving Rose, Martha, Donna and even River, but not a thing comes to mind when I think of Amy or Rory, and they are the freshest in my mind, so that's pretty odd. I don't know, maybe I'm going through the same thing most people go through when transitioning from Rose to Martha. Holding onto Donna and the others and sort of giving Amy the brush off. But like Jack said, I hope they get a brilliant send off

I have to agree that Donna was possibly the most human of all the companions, but I just couldn't find any way to relate to her at all. I just found her really rude and outspoken, and I used to moan and whine every time she appeared on screen. XD I've had to tone it down a bit, though, since my best friend is basically in love with Catherine Tate and everything she does. That said, it was probably easier for me to warm to Amy and Rory after Donna left, even if their stories seemed to get a little repetitive. If you're looking for a great send off though, on par with Doomsday, I think you'll be disappointed.

Cameron just told me about Karen Gillan and Matt Smith winning the NTAs (National Television Awards) for best male and female actors, so I thought I'd share it with you all, if you don't already know. Unfortunately Doctor Who missed out on getting best drama though, that went to Downton Abbey.
