If I'm having a phrase of dialogue from another language (I'm looking at Latin) and I want to make the language and the English translation evident to the audience, is there any way I can do it without making note of it in the action paragraphs, or having the character say the English version, too?
I'm using Final Draft 8, if that helps.
Thank you!

Well, usually (as I see it) you write the piece of dialog in English and add in paranthetical above it for instance "Japanese, subtitled". I have no idea how to do if you want to do the reverse, though.

I would just write the dialogue in English and add (IN LATIN) as a parenthetical. Maybe try finding a script for a film or series you can think of that uses different languages in their dialogue and mimic whatever they used?

I'll try that. Thank you both for the quick response, I might have forgotten about it otherwise.
