The show revolves around a corporation running numerous underground establishments (known as "Dollhouses") across the globe which program individuals referred to as Actives (or Dolls) with temporary personalities and skills. Wealthy clients hire Actives from Dollhouses at great expense for various purposes. The series primarily follows the Active known as Echo, played by Eliza Dushku (who also acts as producer), on her journey towards self-awareness. Sadly, Dollhouse will end tonight with it's series finale episode, "Epitaph Two" But, I made this thread so we can always remember this epic series. Post your thoughts about the show, favorite characters, plots, quotes and everything else!

The first season was really terrible, though. The show didn't pick up until the sixth episode, and even then, the show was really boring in the middle of the eps. When the show got cancelled, Joss put his A-Game on, and the show turned out great. Hopefully his exellency follows through right in the series finale, which I wouldn't watch if Smallville is coming on. XD

Smallville lost it's flare around season 6 and is just being stretched out. Anyway, Dollhouse season finale was great!! I think I might consider this the series finale. Most questions were answered, others were created. But the conclusion was really good. R.I.P Dollhouse.

It was the series finale. Besides, Dollhouse Season One wasn't mindblowing, it was towards the end with "Needs" and "Man on the Street" and those sort of ones. But overal season one isn't the best 13 episodes of television. Season Two brought it on home with its twists and turns, and the series finale was a fitting end, that was both heart wrenching and epic! And say what you want, Smallville hasn't lost its spark. Nine years on, and still going strong! So, ha, Smallville forever ;D

So, if your into science and technology, you'd like it. Smallville's kinda the opposite ;D -Kinda. But then again, I do still watch Smallville, mostly out of habit.

I must say that I find it shocking that Dollhouse and Smallville are being compared at all, haha. But, I hate Smallville; I personally find it boring, repetitive, and....kinda stupid I gave up on it about...two years ago, I think. Dollhouse, on the other hand, I adore. The first five episodes were okay, with some episodes that were at least enjoyable ("The Target" and "Gray Hour") while others were horrendous ("Stage Fright", "True Believer"). From "Man on the Street" on, I must admit that I was hooked. I loved the second half of Season 1, and "Briar Rose" and "Epitaph One" were absolutely amazing. Season 2 was a different story, cause that's when it became a really great show, for me, at least. "Vows" had that amazing story with Claire; really heartbreaking and amazingly well-written and acted! And "Belonging", delving into the real characters of the series, which continued into "Stop-Loss". We had the introduction of great new characters. I loved Bennett, and the return of Dominic, Clyde, Boyd's reveal, it was all so good for me. "The Hollow Men" was rushed a bit, but I still liked it much more than most people in the fandom. And the finale, "Epitaph Two: Return", was simply gut-wrenching yet happy. I loved it so frickin' much. So, I am really sad the series is over. For me, at least, Dollhouse was the best show of the year.

But its not technically challenging for us to watch. All that happens is explained, its mainly the gripping characters and plot twists that makes the show interesting. As for Smallville, its been going on 9 years strong, with a possible 10th season in the making. The main reason I watch is to see what they do with Chloe Sullivan, and how far they're going to bring Clark to becoming Superman. Its really rather interesting seeing how they match the comics up with several episodes. Besides...In all honesty, the first season of Dollhouse was really nothing special. It only got good from episodes 4-13 of season 2, and by then it was way too late.

Loved Dollhouse, although I do think the first five episodes of season 1 were a bit meh. It really picked up with "A Spy in the House of Love" and "Omega". "Epitaph One" might be one of my favourite hours of television. Like most of Joss's shows, they start off slow and then really pick up (even in Firefly, which the second half is better then first) but unfortunately the world isn't looking for a slow-paced science fiction show.
I wonder if Dollhouse will go on to be renowned like Firefly is?

I really liked Dollhouse. It was probably the 2nd saddest cancellation of my life. the first one does to legend of the seeker *cries* I preferred the 2nd season over the first. My favorite characters were Adelle and Topher!
