I also voted Pete for the same reason. Probably not the 'ideal' choice, but it would definitely make for some great drama, and like you said, he would create an interesting dynamic within the house.

I understand 100 percent! Take all the time you need, Jack. School should definitely be your top priority. I look forward to season three of WT, whenever it comes around.

I get out of school in just under three weeks, and these last few weeks have been the slowest of my entire life. It always happens this way, especially when I'm looking forward to something. There are about 3 more final projects that need to be turned in before the semester is over. One is a 15-20 page essay about a topic I don't even want to describe... it's not the best topic, but I could have gotten worse. My instructor makes us pick topics from a hat. She says she's trying to be hip... *rolls eyes*
Anyway, the other project is for my TV Writing/Production course, and is a 6-part webseries called "Kraigslist." It's basically the adventures of a young man who's life has been completely taken over by the Craigslist website. He uses it for absolutely everything, and it's becoming quite an issue. I've been assigned the penultimate episode, and while this particular series is not a serial, I have to set up a few things for the finale. The episodes focus is on Craig looking for a job and finding an ad for an extra camera man. However, he gets there and discovers they want him to shoot an adult film. I will say no more for risk of being shunned by you all.
The third and final project (probably gonna be the toughest) is for my Directing course, and we have to direct and run an live-broadcast sketch comedy show. Not gonna be easy. Fun, but definitely not easy. Something is bound to go wrong when I'm involved (just kidding. Don't hold that against me).
But all in all, this has been a fun year. I'm glad I decided to go back for more after graduating. However, I've decided I want to move back to California, indefinitely, so when I go there this summer, I plan on staying, taking off a semester-to a year of grad school, and just seeing how life in L.A. for a writer is. I still have a few months to change my mind and come running back to Chicago though. lol
I don't think I'll be interning anywhere this year. I was hoping to get the NBC gig again, but things just never work out the way you want. If that were so, I'd be working already. XD I do have a friend... (okay, we're acquaintances, but sometimes that's all you need to be) who works in the industry and might be able to be a reference or something. Worked well last year with the internship, could be of some use again. He even put me on the crew (mind you, I would have probably been bringing people coffee) of a pilot that never got a greenlight for shooting. Would have been cool though.
Sorry for this random update of my life. lol Just felt like writing.

Jack decided to have a little fun with me by saying "Do you like movies that kill off all the main characters at the end? Well, if you do then you'll LOVE Iron Man 3." And now I'm paranoid... I hope this isn't true.

I was on Twitter and I came across a bunch of accounts me, Jack and a couple other showrunners on VPN made a while back for the characters on our shows. Like, I made accounts for Lana Lang and Quentin O'Neal of "Trinity." That got me thinking, would anyone be interested in like... making a "thing" out of this? I never really participate in roleplaying, but it's a HUGE thing on Tumblr, and there are so many forums dedicated to it, using different fandoms, crossovers, etc... I'm kind of wondering if there are any people on this forum who have done it before? This would be for the readers, and would give them more of an opportunity to be involved in the shows here (in theory). Possibly boost some activity and readership. It would essentially be fans operating one or more VPN characters, and tweeting back and forth between characters of the same show/universe. If the Twitter thing doesn't work, there could even be a board set up here on the forum for it. Who knows. This was just a thought that came across my loopy head, so feel free to tell him how bad an idea this is. But, I thought I'd ask if anyone would be interested in the idea anyway.

Thanks Antonio! I really hope to get to this project one day. If not, than I'd be happy to pass it on to another writer. I really wanted this to have a sort of "Entourage" vibe. Loved that show soo much. Maybe if I go back and rewatch a few seasons of that, I'll get some inspiration to write this.

Bad Robot Turning Stephen King's 11/22/63 Into TV Series
J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot is in negotiations to turn Stephen King's 2011 novel "11/22/63" into a TV series. The book is described as follows:
Jake Epping is a thirty-five-year-old high school English teacher in Lisbon Falls, Maine, who makes extra money teaching adults in the GED program. He receives an essay from one of the students—a gruesome, harrowing first person story about the night 50 years ago when Harry Dunning’s father came home and killed his mother, his sister, and his brother with a hammer. Harry escaped with a smashed leg, as evidenced by his crooked walk.
Not much later, Jake’s friend Al, who runs the local diner, divulges a secret: his storeroom is a portal to 1958. He enlists Jake on an insane—and insanely possible—mission to try to prevent the Kennedy assassination. So begins Jake’s new life as George Amberson and his new world of Elvis and JFK, of big American cars and sock hops, of a troubled loner named Lee Harvey Oswald and a beautiful high school librarian named Sadie Dunhill, who becomes the love of Jake’s life—a life that transgresses all the normal rules of time."
Bad Robot would be teaming up with Warner Bros. TV for the project. The project was originally set up to become a movie that was to be directed by Jonathan Demme.

The CW Network has given early pickups to three additional dramas for next season, including the first new series order of the season with "The Originals," the spin-off of "The Vampire Diaries," which was introduced during last night's episode. The network also gave advance orders for the second season of "Beauty and the Beast" and the third season of "Hart of Dixie." The pickups were announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW.
"As soon as we saw last night's episode of 'The Vampire Diaries,' we knew we wanted more of 'The Originals' - Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson have done a fantastic job with 'The Vampire Diaries,' which is as fast-paced and well-written as ever, and Julie has created an equally compelling world for 'The Originals,'" said Pedowitz. "We're also very excited to bring back 'Beauty And The Beast' and 'Hart of Dixie' for next season - both series continue to be creatively strong and compelling, and their fans are incredibly passionate. I'm very happy to have all three series on the schedule for next season."
"Beauty and the Beast" stars Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan and "Hart of Dixie" stars Rachel Bilson.
The CW has already given advance orders to "Arrow," "The Vampire Diaries" and "Supernatural" for next season.

NBC announced today that dramas "Revolution," "Chicago Fire," "Parenthood," "Grimm" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" are all returning for the 2013-14 slate. All have been given 22-episode orders. The announcement was made by Jennifer Salke, president of NBC Entertainment. Here's the press release:
"On the verge of our 2013 fall scheduling decisions, we're pleased to renew five drama series that will be important to our new season line-up," Salke said. "We're proud and very appreciative of all of the actors, producers, writers and directors who work so hard to deliver such high-quality work week in and week out. These complex shows represent a broad range of genres and tones, and all of them stand out for us in a television landscape now filled with one-hour series. We're especially pleased to be renewing "Revolution" and "Chicago Fire" - two first-season successes - and there will be more returning series announcements made in the next couple of weeks."
"Revolution," the Monday night drama that centers on a family trying to reunite amidst a worldwide power failure, is executive produced by Eric Kripke, J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk ("Lost," "Star Trek"). The series is produced by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Bad Robot Productions, Kripke Enterprises and Warner Bros. Television.
"Revolution" is the season's top-rated drama on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox and top-rated new series among those networks in adults 18-49, scoring a 4.6 rating, 12 share and 11.8 million viewers overall in "most current" averages for the season to date. "Revolution" has teamed with "The Voice" to help improve NBC's Mondays this season versus last by 24 percent in 18-49 (with a 3.6 rating vs. a 2.9).
"Chicago Fire," from Emmy Award-winning executive producer Dick Wolf and creators Derek Haas and Michael Brandt, goes inside a Windy City firehouse and the lives of those who engage in one of our nation's noblest professions.
In addition to Wolf, Haas and Brandt, executive producers also include Matt Olmstead, Joe Chappelle, Danielle Gelber and Peter Jankowski. The series is produced by Universal Television and Wolf Films.
"Chicago Fire" has topped its premiere audience of 6.6 million persons a total of eight times this season, and the only other new drama on the broadcast networks to have done it even once this season is NBC's "Hannibal." "Chicago Fire" originals have improved the time period versus year-ago results by 24 percent ("live plus same day").
"Parenthood," adapted from the 1989 feature film, examines the colorful Braverman family, and all its foibles and triumphs. The series is executive produced by Oscar winners Ron Howard and Brian Grazer ("A Beautiful Mind," "Frost/Nixon"), Emmy winner Jason Katims ("Friday Night Lights") and Lawrence Trilling ("Pushing Daisies"). The series is produced by Universal Television and Imagine Entertainment.
"Parenthood" grew this season versus last by 8 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 2.8 rating from a 2.6) and also increased by 8 percent year-to-year in total viewers (7.1 million vs. 6.6 million). This season's last seven "Parenthood" telecasts beat both the ABC and CBS drama competition in the time period in 18-49.
"Grimm," inspired by the classic Grimm Brothers' fairy tales, is a Universal Television and Hazy Mills production. The series was created by Stephen Carpenter, David Greenwalt, Jim Kouf. Sean Hayes, Todd Milliner and Norberto Barba also serve as executive producers along with Greenwalt and Kouf.
"Grimm" is Friday's #1 series in adults 18-49 and is up versus one year ago by 14 percent in 18-49 rating (with a 2.4 vs. the year-ago 2.1, "most current") and is up 12 percent in total viewers (6.9 million vs. 5.2 million).
"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" will enter its 15th season for NBC. The series chronicles the life and crimes of the Special Victims Unit of the New York City Police Department, an elite squad of detectives who investigate sexually based crimes.
"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" is a Wolf Films production in association with Universal Television. Dick Wolf is creator and executive producer. Warren Leight, Julie Martin and Peter Jankowski are also executive producers.
"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" originals this season have improved the time period versus year-ago results by 70 percent in adults 18-49 ("live plus same day") and are building on the time slot's lead-in by 31 percent in 18-49 and 70 percent in total viewers.

The backdoor pilot for "The Originals" was a lot better than I expected it to be. I wasn't expecting much, since I pretty much hate Klaus. But watching it, I began to look at his character from a different perspective.
I think the change of scenery helped a lot, and I've come to the conclusion that Klaus' potential is royally wasted on "The Vampire Diaries." I'm actually starting to think this spinoff might be a good idea after all.

When they announced that Zack Snyder was directing, I already had it in my mind that there would be an overuse of effects. It's expected in this films, so I gave myself time to get over that and eventually, come to accept it. I'm just hoping for a good storyline. If the story is good, and the script is well written, I think it'll be a good movie.
