I think I can echo what Brady has said here, Karl. You're a great idea guy, and I really look forward to you finally finding a project you want to see through, and it seems like this could be it, fingers crossed...
Also, kudos on the 'superhero' codenames! My personal fav is 'Energa'!

Hey, Brady! Nice to see some new reviews! Yes, I totally take on-board what you said about 'show, don't tell' - you'll hopefully find that the later episodes do have 'CSI'-style cutaways - in fact, I know straight away that ep 7, "Terrific", has at least one funny one with Wally! Unfortunately, procedural-driven shows, even one like "M:SCU" does need exposition, but it was/is something I try to 'show' a lot more going forward. As for Wally's gambling, that is kinda my bad - in my head canon to relate the shows back to "Smallville", which showed that Bart Allen has I.D's in certain other Flash names, I developed the idea that "Loyalty" b-story revolved around, that the pre-Impulse Bart ran up loads of debt in Wally's name, and he resorted to gambling to pay it off, and got addicted. The idea of Wally owing enough money because of those debts to get himself beaten up, I think that simply came from a) wanting to flesh out some of Wally's history and show him as more then a simple comic relief character, and b) experimenting more with having 'a' and 'b' story-lines. I guess I kinda saw it as paralleling the audience's discovery of it alongside Maggie's. I hope you liked how Maggie went to bat for him though? As for the personal lives, yeah, it's definitely something you see more of in later episodes!

CASTING NEWS: NICK ROBINSON ENROLLED AT WINCHESTER BAY HIGH SCHOOL! The exclusive news has come down to VSGUIDE that " Jurassic World" and " Love, Simon" star Nick Robinson has been involved in the coming-soon " Winchester" reboot! Robinson is playing the character of ' Bruce Olsen', another junior at Winchester Bay High School, and best buds with 'Pete Jensen', played by former " Legends of Tomorrow" star Franz Drameh. Robinson was seen on set filming with Drameh, and the two were apparently thick as thieves! According to a source in the "Winchester" production offices, " Nick came in for his audition, read and tested a scene with Franz, and we knew straight away that this was who we needed to play Pete's wing-man!" The character of ' Bruce' appears briefly in the upcoming premiere, which currently does not have an air-date, beyond 'soon', and will recur throughout the season.

I've just downloaded the new pilot to read, and I have to say, while I'm happy to see the series coming back, I will miss certain characters, like Fiona. That said, I'm eager to dive into the new story and it's reinterpretation of the remaining characters I'd come to love! Any new movement on this?

VSGUIDE EXCLUSIVE:
DC'S "ROYAL FLUSH GANG" CAST FOR UPCOMING 2-PART STORY!
The Royal Family of Crime will descend on Metropolis! VSGuide has the exciting news that that the 5-member family of thieves and scoundrels will be making their VPN debut in the upcoming 2 part story being told in episodes 2x09 ("Trident") and 2x10 ("Legacy").
The original incarnation of the Royal Flush Gang was created by Gardner Fox and Mike Sekowsky and first appeared in March 1966, in the pages of "Justice League of America #43" under the leadership of Amos Fortune. They are a group of playing card-themed supervillains who are usually thwarted by the superheroes they encounter. Their code names based on an ace-high straight in poker: King, Queen, Jack, Ten and Ace.
They have adapted multiple times for television, appearing in both the "Batman Beyond" and "Justice League" animated series, as well as the more recent "Justice League: Doom" animated film, and in the Arrowverse. "Our incarnation of the Gang is very much inspired by the way they appeared in "Batman Beyond", but also touching on their adaption in the first season of "Arrow", while putting our own unique spin on them" explains show-runner Alex Matthews. "They've been one of the DC properties I've always wanted to see in our shared VPNDCU, and I'm happy I get to have them cause some chaos in Metropolis." Matthews revealed one tiny clue as to why they choose now to visit the City of Tomorrow, "Let's just say that it's no coincidence that another royal family will be in town at the same time."
It has been confirmed that all 5 members of the Gang have been cast (see above). King will be portrayed by Patrick Fabian ("Veronica Mars", "Valentine", "Better Call Saul"), and his Queen will be portrayed by Kristen Lehmen ("Motive", "Poltergeist: The Legacy"). They'll be joined by Jack, who will be portrayed by Dominic Sherwood ("Shadowhunters", "Vampire Academy"), Ten, who will be portrayed by Penelope Mitchell ("Hemlock Grove", "Vampire Diaries") and Ace, who will be portrayed by Cody Runnel, a.k.a. Cody Rhodes ("WWE", "Arrow").
The Royal Flush Gang will make their debut in Episode 2x09: "Trident".

Okay, so I have reworked the premiere, but I wont post it just yet, as I want to go straight into reworking Eps 2 and 3, as they will now be affected by what has happened in Ep 1. So glad I never delete any drafts/outlines, as it makes reworking and moving scenes between episodes so much easier!

Thanks for the feedback, guys! Hmm, you've both given me some food for thought. Jack, I think you have a point about it being 'packaged' a little differently, and I have an idea about how to change that now, which will affect Ep 2, and I think that is what has been stopping me from changing too much of the premiere's core structure.
Will try and have a stab at things/ideas later - got a doctor's appointment later, and currently outlining MSCU 2x10 as well, but hearing some fresh comments has inspired me!

I have to say, when the news came down that TNT were looking into making a Titans series, I was, as the animated Young Justice version of Robin was fond of saying, 'whelmed'...
But now, knowing it will be an online series, free from certain constraints of network television, and seeing that image, not to mention hearing my favourite Aquaman will be in the show playing a brand new bad-ass hero, I'm now shifting my view to 'curiously excited'.

Okay, so I just read "Trinity" and "Checkmate" in one session - and my brain is still reeling from the fallout!!
Totally geeked out over finally having Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman working together! Mourned at the apparent deaths the team endured, and the concrete realization that Vicki is most definitely gone as well. I really hope one of those in particular either doesn't stick, or was a misdirect. Loved seeing the Bat-Family grow once more - I wonder if by next season and it's time jump, if Bruce will also have Ace the Bat-Hound as well?! I love the reveal that Chloe is now an Editor-in-Chief, and of a brand-new paper, the "Vale Verity" - I can't believe I only just discovered what the origin of that name is, and it fits perfectly! Speaking of reveals, OMG - were you trying to induce aneurysms?! Not only the Talia/Bruce nugget, but that final scene! I was actually stupified and speechless for at least a minute - I nearly dropped my iPad! My only quibbles were minor. As much as I enjoyed the episodes, a part of it felt far too crowded, and certain characters (Vixen comes to mind) felt like they fell by the wayside as others got more exploration. I can understand that the main characters and recurring ones have to get their focus, but it did kinda feel many of the 'heroes' were just background characters. I hope we see more of these guys - I'm not a huge fan of the idea of the A.T.O.M. exo-suit, but I did like the humour and eagerness that Ryan exuded. Questions: 1) Is that the end of Checkmate? Will it now be absorbed into ARGUS? If Steve is getting is happy ever after with Lana, does that mean Amanda has a new agency to play with? 2) The beginning of a Justice League proper, I'm sure will get Karl rather excited. But will we be seeing more of then and those hinted characters they casually referred too? 3) Why go that way with Lord? I think I can understand why, but I'd like to hear your reasoning. 4) How long do we have to wait before we can start speculating on S5 and getting some solid info about who is coming back? Will it be a full 22-episode season? I might be back with more questions once I've re-read them, which I'm sure to do at some point, but just wanted to put something down in writing now, and offer a big round of applause for completely another spectacular season!! x

CASTING NEWS:
JOHN DE LANCIE BOOKS GUEST APPEARANCE
VSGuide has the exclusive reveal that John De Lancie, the man behind the omnipotent mischief maker Q of "Star Trek" lore, has booked a guest spot on an upcoming episode!
De Lancie will portray 'Dr. Saul Erdel', based on the DC Comics character of the same name that is a major part of the backstory of the Martian Manhunter. In the original comic lore, Erdel was accidentally responsible for transporting and stranded J'onn J'onzz on Earth, and died shortly after from a heart attack caused by the shock of seeing a real life alien. The backstory has been retconned several times over the long course of DC history, but Erdel has always had some kind of involvement in how and why J'onn took up the mantle of the 'Martian Manhunter'.
He'll be joining previously announced guest star Molly C. Quinn in episode 2x07: "Monster", who previously unrevealed character has been confirmed by sources on set to be called 'Melissa', and she's closely related to the Erdel/Jones story-line.
