THE COMPASS NETWORK The Compass Network is a media hub for the new generation. Forget big-money gatekeepers, ratings-anemic networks, cookie-cutter blockbusters and bloated publishing houses. Think innovative webseries, new talent, DIY filmmaking, self-publishing. Media is in a new era. An era of Netflix, DeviantArt, Kickstarter. Self-published eBooks, viral personal vlogs and webcomics as good as anything in stores. An era where the only barrier to respect is earning it. Not where you live. Not who you are. Not how many TV or feature credits are under your belt or your college degree. The Compass Network is a new community designed to signal boost the significant untapped talent out there. Podcasts. Webseries. Script series. Vlogs. Webcomics. We are charting a new direction for entertainment. We are your next destination. Come join us and build the future. To join in the fun, just go to: www.thecompassnet.com

We at Compass want to give our screenwriters exposure to as big an audience as possible. So, we've decided to circulate a collection of excerpts from Compass projects to give lots of unconventional readers a taste test of what they might find here. Featuring Compass films, script series, and Workshop projects, the Compass Compilation for our August 2013 launch includes work from Shannon Litt, Dex MacLeod, and myself, hopefully the launch for a successful quarterly compilation hereafter.
2. COMPASS FILMS: Gamer Girl Excerpt 3. COMPASS FILMS: Cradle Song Excerpt 4. COMPASS SCRIPT SERIES: Caydem Falls Excerpt 5. COMPASS PREVIEW: Timeless Pilot Preview 6. WORKSHOP SHOWCASE: Batgirl & Robin Excerpt 7. WORKSHOP SHOWCASE: Characters ExcerptSound off at Compass on your thoughts re: the opening letter, the excerpts, the format, and any questions/concerns/comments about the project! We'll be distributing this to potential contacts, in and outside the industry, as a sample of the work available at Compass on launch.

Compass is proud to showcase an award-winning short film, Perspective Pictures' COLD, a thoughtful exploration of what it's like to live in a city of 2.5 million strangers. Also, coming up later today: the announcement of Compass' Winter '14 Screenplay Schedule, featuring 4 newly-announced screenplay pickups. So stick around and keep your eyes peeled. #TheNewYear is beginning early...

#TheNewYear's Next Stage: Pitch Frenzy 2014!
Hot on the heels of its first ever Logline Competition, Compass is happy to announce the next part of its #TheNewYear initiative: Pitch Frenzy 2014! Podcasts. Short films. Vlogs. Webseries. Script Series. Audio productions. You've got an idea? We want to hear it! Compass wants to hear you pitch your project proposals. No idea too crazy or too ambitious, if you think you can tackle it come 2014. Network Directors Kyle West, Daniel Taylor and RJ Alden Lackie are on board to hear any proposal fitting Compass' mandate. And of all proposals received over this one crazy weekend, from January 3 to January 5 2014, a minimum of five (5) proposals will be greenlit. No produced samples needed, simple 1-2 paragraph proposal of your idea and a boatload of passion! If you can "WOW!" us with your idea and convince us its the best thing since sliced bread, then Compass will be delighted to give you a big thumbs up to start development with Compass. There are no hoops to jump through; it's as easy as it sounds! So dust off your camera for that crazy webseries idea you have, polish off that pitch for a script series you've dreamed of writing for years, dig out your microphone and put on your best radio voice. Compass wants you, and is committed to giving you a platform to not only develop your work, but have fun doing so! Our first Pitch Frenzy begins the first weekend of 2014! Your audience awaits. Go to thecompassnet.com now!
