MATTHEW JAMES TALKS NORTHWOOD DEVELOPMENT The Winchester spin-off Northwood which was brought up months ago has made some development recently, when word came that would be series regular Nathan Kress backed out of the project, instead Northwood resident Eli Fields will be played by Teen Wolf star Daniel Sharman and a new series regular is being introduced he is said to be mysterious, charming but dangerous, and will be named James Purdie, and will be simply called Purdy and will be played by Steven R.McQueen. James also went on to say how the show has changed course and that the new series will be a departure from its parent series. “Originally the series was going to be somewhat inspired by “Pretty Little Liars” a group of misfits band together to solve the murder of a beloved friend” Well the murder and what brings them together is still there, the series has shifted and will now take place on Northwood Island where a deadly secret lays beneath the island, “No it’s not a Hellmouth” promises James, and the series is heavily rumored to be inspired by Mircrosoft and Remedy classic smash hit “Alan Wake” a popular game for the XBOX which itself was heavily inspired by Stephan King. “I’m a huge Alan Wake fan, there are few games I geek out for but I have to admit Alan Wake was one them. The character, his mission, the world around him, and the mystery and the constant threat of the danger really drew me in. I loved how the people around him, Alice, Barry, Weaver and Sheriff Sara Breaker were all included and Wake’s narration allowed us to really get to know these people and the world we were in, Wake and his friend’s being trapped on the island and cut off from civilization really added to the feeling of doom and certain death.” James also went on to promise that well the series would center on an island, it would include a curse and that the Taken (the deadly shadows that grip the residents of Bright Falls) would appear with a different name and sinister goals. The series will star Dianna Agron, Alison Scagliotti, Daniel Sharman, Steven R.McQueen and Lana Parilla, and would feature Agron, Sharman, McQueen and Parilla in the back door pilot alongside Josh Zuckerman and Ashley Tisdale, who would depart the island at the episode’s conclusion.
