BZN announces... STAR TREK: VOYAGERFor our next new project, BZN is delighted to announce a production order for Star Trek: Voyager, a reboot of the well known 1990's fourth Trek series and spin-off from Star Trek: New Generation, brought to you by Kyle West (Knight's Haven). The series charts the journey of the USS Voyager, flung across the galaxy into an uncharted region of space 75 years from home, as Captain Kathryn Janeway struggles to keep her crew alive from dangers within and without... West was quoted as saying: "This is a superb opportunity to tell the story of the starship Voyager, but in a completely different era of television storytelling. I want to push boundaries with this series, and really go places that the original series didn't. Just how far would Kathryn Janeway go to get her crew home? I'm not sure we ever got a definitive answer on that one previously, and so that's one of the core driving forces behind this series. I can't wait to start telling the story I've got planned out." Star Trek: Voyager will air exclusively on BZN in 2014. graphic art by Vaughn

BZN announces... DOORS OPENFor our next new project, BZN is delighted to announce a production order for Doors Open, a movie adaptation of the celebrated novel by Ian Rankin, brought to you by Adam Scott (Batman). Set in Scotland, the story revolves around a group of misfit villains and an audacious art theft that doesn't go in any way at all to plan. Scott was quoted as saying: "I'm thrilled to have this be my next project for BZN. I'm a massive fan of Ian Rankin and this book, Doors Open, has always been a favourite of mine, a heist set in Edinburgh's art world starring a group of shambolic amateur villains who get a lot more than they bargained for when they enter the world of organised crime. Rankin himself described the project as a Scottish Ocean's Eleven and I'm delighted to be able to bring that to BZN this New Year." DOORS OPEN will air exclusively on BZN on NEW YEARS EVE. graphic art by Vaughn

BZN announces... THE FINAL FRONTIERFor our next new project, BZN is delighted to announce a production order for The Final Frontier, a revised take on Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek, brought to you by P A. Wilson. Featuring the crew of the USS Enterprise, the series will showcase a brand new set of adventures for Kirk, Spock & crew in a fresh, reconceptualised universe. Wilson was quoted as saying: "I'm thrilled to be given the opportunity to finally get The Final Frontier out to the masses. The concept has been sitting on a shelf collecting dust for the better part of six years and I'm so happy it's found a home here at the BZN. I'm a devoted fan of the franchise as a whole I love what J.J. Abrams has done to Star Trek in recent years. However my goal with The Final Frontier will be to go that extra step further and completely turn Star Trek on it's head, creating a true re-imagining." THE FINAL FRONTIER will air exclusively on BZN in 2014. graphic art by P A. Wilson

The Black Zero Network is delighted to formerly announce a brand new partnership between ourselves and one of the web's finest scripted virtual series -- "VIRTUAL FIREFLY". Upon learning that their site -- stillflying.net -- had been allowed to lapse offline after two virtual seasons and many years of fandom, I set about contacting the creators of the series and proposing that we here at the BZN re-host all of their scripts and give them a new home. After some discussion, we've started putting together the first steps towards this alliance (a far shinier alliance than the Alliance in Firefly), which will bring about new special features in the hopes of snagging a whole new audience to the series, both from the BZN/MZPtv family and across the Internet. While it is too soon to make any firm announcements about the project, we are thrilled to, at the very least, be giving Virtual Firefly a brand new home so that its legacy can live on well into the future. Beyond that... only time will tell. Network chief Tony Black said "It's quite a thrill to adopt Virtual Firefly under the BZN banner, I have to say. It's been on my Virtual Series radar for many a year, and given it's pretty much *the* premier online script-based virtual Firefly continuation, I consider it an honour the team are happy to have the series re-air on our network and, hopefully, one day continue the journey..." Executive Producer George W. Krubski added "We're very excited to have a new home for Still Flying. A lot of the old gang is planning to show up, and besides re-releasing our episodes, I have a feeling that we may have a few things to say about how we got here. Keep flying!". Keep your eyes peeled for future announcements on how exactly the project will be introduced onto the BZN, and in the meantime please make sure to welcome the Still Flying crew when they eventually pop their heads in!

BZN announces... SERENITYFor our first major pitched pick-up of 2014, BZN is proud to announce a production order for SERENITY, based on Joss Whedon's cult hit Firefly. Developed by STEVE GOODMAN ( Cursed), Serenity is set in the Wild West, 1865, and reimagines Whedon's future Western into an actual-Western setting, with Mal Reynolds & company all in evidence. Goodman said of the project: "First, big thanks to Tony and the others at BZN for being given an opportunity to become a showrunner for the first time. The series Firefly is a show that has fond memories for anyone who has watched it and still recognized as one of the most loved shows ever made. This new spin on the original series revolves a small town named 'Serenity' and set against the backdrop of the end of the American Civil War, rise of the outlaws, upcoming assassination of President Lincoln and the rise in power of President Johnson. The series follows the adventures of newly appointed Sheriff - 'Captain' Malcolm Reynolds, and the residents of the town as they find themselves battling to protect the town against the new President from learning it's secret and taking over, as well as trying to keep safe a young woman who has incredible abilities and may just be the key to everything it holds. A thrilling ride of action, adventure, romance, shootouts and a surprise or two along the way." SERENITY will air exclusively on BZN later in 2014.

BZN announces... WOLFRAM & HARTFor our next major pick-up of 2014, BZN is proud to announce a production order for WOLFRAM & HART, a brand new Buffyverse virtual series based on creations of Joss Whedon & David Greenwalt in Angel. Created by CHRIS DAVIS ( Gangland, Hellbound) & AMIN CALUK ( The Void), Wolfram & Hart tells the story of Meagan McKnight, an idealistic young lawyer drafted into demonic law firm Wolfram & Hart, and the cases she pursues within the supernatural underworld. Davis said of the project: "When I think about what inspired me to start writing scripts, the first thing that comes to mind is the Buffyverse. After brainstorming ideas for potential Buffy/Angel spinoffs, on and off, for about six years, I've finally gotten to this point; I've finally found the project I can see myself writing for the next few years. Wolfram & Hart not only has a rich, existing mythology, but boat loads of room for story expansion. So much left to tell, and Amin and I are just thrilled to be given the opportunity to provide our take on the universe that started it all." WOLFRAM & HART will air exclusively on BZN later in 2014.

BZN announces... MUSKETEERSFor our next new project, BZN is delighted to announce the upcoming release of Musketeers, a fresh new movie adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' celebrated 19th century novel, brought to you by A J. Black. ( The DSR) Set in France, the story transposes the eponymous Musketeers into the modern day, as a rising young federal agent named Louis D'Artagnan uncovers a dangerous plot against the French leadership, along the way meeting three men who will forever change his life... Black was quoted as saying: "I have loved The Three Musketeers since a child who discovered the semi-legendary 1970's Richard Lester movie adaptations, and subsequently finding Dumas' books and characters an absolute joy. During a conversation several years ago with Lee Chrimes, I stumbled upon a fresh, exciting way to bring the Musketeers and their story into the modern day with a concoction of action, derring-do, conspiracy, plotting, sex appeal and comedy. I'm seriously thrilled to show BZN my take on such a classic tale." MUSKETEERS will air exclusively on BZN in early 2014.

The BLACK ZERO NETWORK is delighted to announce a brand new website to usher in the era of leadership under incoming chiefs Pete D. Gaskell and Adam Scott. The website has been designed as a portfolio for all of our old and new projects. We’ll be looking to avoid the mistakes made with the MZPtv website, which was convoluted and complicated to update regularly. The new BZN website is more of an art gallery than a news broadcast. For daily and weekly updates, the place to be will still be our COMMUNITY FORUMS. The BZN website is where new visitors can easily browse the projects and find information about us without the daunting prospect of thousands of forum posts to dig through. As with any new site there may be a few gremlins in the system, and there is sure to be many tweaks done in the coming weeks and months. Thanks for reading, and we hope you enjoy the new digs. JT Vaughn / BZN Website Admin www.bznetwork.co.uk

The first of two exciting new projects to be revealed today, BZN is pleased to announce the commissioning of X-MEN.Developed for VS by LI ROBB ( Blood Red Shoes/Malleus Maleficarum) and based on the classic comic book series created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, X-Men brings to life the story of Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, a safe haven for the growing population of young mutants with strange and sometimes dangerous abilities, and follows a group of classic X-Men characters as they attempt to show humanity that mutants can be a force for good, a view that brings them into direct conflict with some of their own. Li Robb said of the project: "I'm very happy to be finally jumping into the BZN pool and after what feels like the longest time, flexing my fanfic muscles once again. As a long-time X-Men fan, this series has been swimming around in my brain for a good while now and getting to release it here amongst such a good bunch is pretty much the cherry." X-Men will air exclusively on BZN later this year.

Hot on the heels of the commissioning of Li Robb's X-Men, BZN is pleased to announce the second of two new projects, an epic reimagining of legendary sci-fi series DOCTOR WHO. Reinterpreted and written by ADAM SCOTT ( Batman) and PETE D. GASKELL ( Star Trek: New Generation), Doctor Who brings the legendary time traveller to life in a brand new way. The new movie, a restart of the Doctor Who mythology from scratch, begins when schoolteachers Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright become aware of strange events pivoting around problematic new student Susan Foreman. Deciding to take matters into their own hands, their search leads them into direct contact with Susan's grandfather, a man who seems to live inside an old police telephone box and calls himself simply The Doctor. Catapulted across space and time, The Doctor, Susan, Ian and Barbara find themselves caught in an elaborate trap laid by a sinister enemy with designs on The Doctor's life, and everything any of them thought they knew about time is about to change. Co-creator Adam Scott said: "I've always wanted a crack at Doctor Who and with this movie I think we've found the perfect way to do it, a way that's at once respectful of the original tales but at the same time allows us to tell any story we want, on any scale that we want, without being beholden to anything that went before." Co-creator Pete D. Gaskell added: "As a fan of Doctor Who ever since my childhood, it's a fantastic opportunity for me to indulge my fanboy tastes by reimagining the series in this bold new fashion - and I can think of no-one better than Adam to join me on this journey. I'm massively looking forward to going right back to the beginning and resetting the playing field completely - and I hope you will be too!" Doctor Who will air this Christmas, exclusively on BZN.
