"Angel: The Virtual Continuation" was written and developed by Jack D. Malone. The series was picked up by VPN in 2009, and aired a total of seven episodes. The series was very well received by audiences in 2009, and sparked a number of reboot attempts by producers Jack D. Malone, and Chris Davis, but none were pursued.
