 1x01: Into the Dark

Summary: THE SERIES PREMIERE — It’s the first day back at school and Phoebe Reynolds is ready to give her immortal life purpose by going to High School again. As she tries to get through the day, she comes in contact with young Clark Adams, a boy in Blackridge who is struggling moving on after the death of his parents. As these two teens begin to discover they are not so different people, murders rock the town of Blackridge and everyone is beginning to wonder if their town is safe. An old group of Hunters come back into order to keep the dark secrets of Blackridge hidden.

Summary: AND THEN THE SUN CAME UP — Phoebe and Clark get back to their normal as Clark tries out for the football team and they both begin to show feelings towards each other. Courtney begins to wonder why new teacher, Micah Fell, knows about her problem with setting things on fire. Meanwhile, Evelyn sets her next plan into action and it takes and it puts Vanessa at risk. Bradley tries to fix old wounds with Mal. Finally, Sarah joins the Blackridge Police.

Summary: FIGURE OUT WHO YOU ARE — The students of Blackridge High put on a party now that things have settled down. Clark and Phoebe begin to show their romance in public and Courtney continues to struggle with her magic and she has strange visions after finding a weird book. Meanwhile, Clark’s Uncle Fredrick pays a visit and it causes Clark to wonder what his families legacy truly is. Evelyn and Phoebe come face to face and Phoebe learns that her sister is planning something big. Finally, a powerful Cult comes into play.

Meanwhile, Bradley and Mal must now deal with a new Vampire who wants them both dead.

Loving all the spoilers so far. And the titles are all really interesting, too. I hope the show doesn't rush too quickly into a Phoebe/Clark romance like some of the spoilers suggest, but regardless, I'm excited to see how their journey plays out. Can't wait for this to start airing, Brian!  |

Can't wait for this to start airing, Brian! The Phoebe and Clark romance does start to bloom early. Like first kisses, small dates and stuff like that. But it really isn't all the way in your face. The focus I wanted to put on was that what both Phoebe and Clark want is something normal, and what's more normal than young love. Hopefully it works out the way I hope. |

 BREAKING: NIGHT WILL FALL
The Series Premiere of Nightfall is coming sooner rather than later. VSGuide can confirm that on February 2nd, Nightfall will make it's grand debut on theVPN. It will run for ten weeks straight and then go on hiatus. The show will begin with "Into the Dark". Make sure to keep up with the spoilers section as casting announcements and character intel will be posted. |

 CASTING: MEET THE ADAMSNo love story would ever be complete without a little bit of family drama. We can confirm that Lyndsy Fonseca and Luke Evans will have a recurring role throughout Season One of Nightfall. Lyndsy will play Chloe Adams, Clark's older sister. She is described to be a very empowered woman. And after the death of her parents, she is tasked to protect her older brother from the darkness that is threatning their town. Chloe isn't the only Adams we will be meeting this season.
Luke Evans will be playing Fredrick Adams, Clark and Chloe's Uncle, their Father's older brother. He has an interesting past with his family and that since he and his brother lived two very different lives. Fredrick is a character that will do anything to win. Chloe fears that having her Uncle back in their lives after losing their parents could cause problems for her trying to protect Clark. We will meet Chloe in 1x01 and Fredrick will make his first appearance in 1x03. |

Welcome to the first set of teasers for "Nightfall" Season One. As the season goes on, I'll be posting small snippets of scripts and other things such as cool little tidbits to get you ready for the show and keep you excited as it continues airing. Let's get started!
- While the Phoebe and Clark romance will be the big start to this series, Brian promises that while it will be a driving factor, the show is about a town caught in the middle of a supernatural war. - When asked about the big bad this season, Brian said “The big bad this season is Evelyn, she is the main antagonist for our protagonist, Phoebe. But there is a bigger big bad hiding in the shadows and pulling he strings.” - Phoebe and Clark will have a first kiss very early on. They are right now in the new love stage of their relationship. - Clark’s family history is deeply rooted in the history of Blackridge and in the supernatural world. His family has a duty to protect those from darkness. But will Clark know that duty? Or is someone hiding it from him? - Who is Evelyn? Well, she is a vampire with vengeance on the brain. But she is merely a pawn in a bigger plan.

 The Teachers of Blackridge High
Joining the cast of characters are two women who will be recurring characters through out Season One. Kristin Kreuk will be playing Seline Howard, the English teacher of Blackridge High. She is going to be a person who is willing to do anything to get what she wants. She will follow anyone and do whatever it takes. Finally Renee Elise Goldsberry will play Mackenzie Stevens, the History teacher of Blackridge High. She is an expert in United States history, but more importantly, Blackridge's history. While she is a follower, she is not afraid to be the leader. These two will become involved in the supernatural war that will plague Blackridge's future. Just "witch" side are they on? |

I'm excited to see more of Evelyn. She was definitely up to no good in the pilot. I wonder what the bigger bad is that's lurking in the shadows? Is that something that creeps up and takes over this season, or is it just something Evelyn is serving? *nervous* I wish it wasn't happening so quickly, but I remember Elena and Stefan happening quite quickly on The Vampire Diaries, and it was part of what triggered the whole, overall journey/story for the series. So I'm going to wait and see how it plays out. I think I'm most excited for Clark's story/journey. He intrigues me the most so far! WHO HURT HER? WHO IS SHE OUT TO GET? ERMERGERD. I think this was to bound to happen with a ten-episode season, but considering he's a main player, I'm sure the story you do have planned for him, and the purpose behind him existing in the first place, is going to be something awesome. Loved all the new spoilers, Brian. Can't wait for this to premiere! |

It's going to be very exciting to play off of this! While Phoebe and Clark are really the main characters here, it's going to go deeper than that. Like why this town? What's so special about it? And it's fun because I have written a whole history of Blackridge (sort of, still a work in progress) and there is so much layers that it's going to be fun to unravel during the shows run. Evelyn originally was written as a one off character who would introduce into the world and then just fade away. But as time went on, the show needed a big bad and so it was her. Then I thought who is she? And well, it just worked out. It connected her to the bigger story I wanted to tell and actually helps lead us into the bigger bad. As for them, Evelyn knows WHO they are. But in the long run, they are someone you don't want to mess with. They have a deep rooted history in Blackridge. Phoebe and Clark happen fast. I will say that. But it's like, young love that just blossumed quickly. I think it's because they found they can trust each other and respect each other. Clark needs someone like Phoebe and Phoebe needs someone like him. And like you said, this does start a bigger journey. Phoebe and Clark's love story is a good core for the series and I'm excited to develop it along in the future. Clark's journey is going to be fun. He's a boy who just lost his parents, scared to live life, then he meets a girl and it changes. But then he sees that things aren't the way he thought. He sees his family kept things from him and he's going to be questioning everything. Evelyn has a plan. She is going to get her revenge, whatever it takes. And it's going to open up some fun drama. Bennett was hard. While I wish I could just throw him into the frey with everyone, it just wasn't working. The same thing happened with Bradley and Mal. It felt like I was trying to do too much all at the same time. Bennett right now is the human friend that keeps us grounded in some sort of realisim. But towards the end, he's thrusted into the story and everyone realizes that maybe keeping Bennett out wasn't for the best. He's going to be getting bigger stories in the future, but right now, Bennett is taking on the side lines. Still there though and ready for the fight. |
