The Event is an emotional, high-octane conspiracy thriller that follows Sean Walker (Jason Ritter, "The Class"), an everyman who investigates the mysterious disappearance of his would-be fiancée Leila (Sarah Roemer, "Disturbia"), and unwittingly begins to expose the biggest cover-up in U.S. history. Sean's quest will send ripples through the lives of an eclectic band of strangers, including newly elected U.S. President Elias Martinez (Golden Globe nominee Blair Underwood, "In Treatment"); Sophia Maguire (Emmy Award nominee Laura Innes, "ER"), who is the leader of a mysterious group of detainees; and Leila's shadowy father (Scott Patterson, "Gilmore Girls"). Their futures are on a collision course in a global conspiracy that could ultimately change the fate of mankind. **************************************************** I've seen the first episode last week...i liked it...it looks very interesting!!

I saw it online...and while it IS interesting, I could have done without all of the time jumping back and forth. That works better when you're a show like, say, Lost...you have a few years in earning viewers. The Event only has had 1 show.
That said...the pieces are in place to get a good story told here.

I've been telling myself I would watch it since the series premiere but still haven't found it in me to start an episode. I tend to do this a lot with new shows but I always get to them sooner or later, in this case, later...obviously. So, has it improved from the pilot episode?

I managed to catch a few episodes of this last time I was home and I have to say, it's not half bad. I love Laura Innes, so anything with her in, I'd probably watch.
