Thanks jadams I completely get what you're saying, and I appreciate the review. I am going to take your comments into consideration moving forward and explore the characters during Ella's time missing! I originally wanted to do a 45 minute series, but I guess this just wasn't the series to try it, which is okay. 45 minutes will like you said give me the chance to "flesh out all the characters" which I'm excited for. PS Hmm.. right! If anything I'll chance Lance to Lucas. I wanted to go back to that 90's format of having characters name's that weren't so ordinary. So if you have any suggestions of names for Lance let me know!

Thanks Jack, for the quick review! You've given me a lot to consider! I'm going wait to see what other people think as well, but when I go back and edit, I will be taking your suggestions into account, and sticking in the past a lot longer, and explore Ella's relationship with her father, Lance, and Maddie more! Again thanks Jack!
Side note, it wasn't until I read the names out lout that I realized I have two characters who when name's come together make Quentin Lance, So I"ll be changing Quentin's name in the next draft.

Opening Credits: NOTES: This is the rebooted first season for The DIU, I completely reworked the story. The first season is set to contain 8 episodes, I felt like that was the perfect amount of episode's to tell this story, there's only a couple of monster of the week type stories, the rest will be advancing the plot, and delving into these four character's. I also did notice a lack in diversity, which I plan to course correct moving forward. The Outline is complete for the first episode, so it will be up by the end of the weekend. The story will be very different from what anyone might remember, this is a little darker, more brooding, but the show's dark quality will be undercut with a love and lot of humor, this is a story about four-five people who live in a secret compound in the Nevada desert, so despite the brooding they all go through, they very much act and feel like a family.

REVIEW "The World we Used to Know" Here is my review for the pilot of Survival Instinct, I rather enjoyed reading it. Particularly the first half, I found the best part of the episodes were the parts where Julie and Ryder were alone. I like that most of the episode focused on the these two (and Caitlyn). It reminded me a lot of the LOST Pilot, where the episode mostly focused on Jack, Kate and Charlie. Letting us meet the other characters during the second part of the episode. The only other camp members we meet are Cameron, and briefly Benji, which was nice. I'm looking forward to getting to see these characters a little more. I liked and disliked Julie, I didn't really get a sense that she would be a leader, I felt her views on everything slightly naive. Her actions and desire to keep her humanity in tact, set the group up for grave danger later on. Ryder was my favorite, he seems to me to be a bit of a loose cannon. He threw in a unpredictability that was a nice contrast to Julie's character. I'm also looking forward to see where you plan to take Caitlyn and her bite. One thing that wasn't made clear was whether or not bites don't turn you, or if Caitlyn specifically is immune. If it turns out to be the former and the group doesn't know but is going around killing people who get bite, seems a little out of character for Julie to allow, someone who literally brought danger into the camp (Sabrina). I also found that you used the word "Survive" a lot, I know the show is called Survival Instincts but I felt like the word could have been said like once, and people would have been like, oh my god that's the title! All in all I enjoyed it, if you keep future episodes as grounded as this one, I defiantly think that Survival Instinct could be a great addition to the line up, I've always wanted VPN to have a zombie series, and am hopeful to see this get picked up and am giving this pilot 9 out of 10.

After some initial concern with the casting I've made a few adjustments trying to make sure the cast all look roughly the same age, as they will all be softmores, and the worry that Emma Stone is to large to appear in a tv series, I did some editing with the cast.
So former Teen Wolf star Crystal Reed will take on the leading role of Tracy Clark, while former Gossip Girl cast member Penn Badgley will portray the leading male role of Jake Farell.

Jack, thanks. I would like to thank you for your comments. I hope you enjoy the plannd pilot. I love all the different characters. I want the series to be more similar to early Beverly Hill 90210, have it be more an after school special, and less like a soap opera. So it will deal with things like drug use, cheating (academic and possibly spousal), abuse, suicide. So the characters will definitely clash, so it'll fun to see all the points of view from all these different arch types. Brady, thanks also. I kind of did that on purpose. I didn't want to reveal any specifics, the article was only designed to let everyone know that the reboot was happening, and to let everyone know about the change in cast. Mentioning the plan to save the beat was was to let everyone, they wouldn't be reading the same story twice. For what you mentioned about Pete, I do actually agree, now that I think of it. Hopefully his actions make sence once you read the pilot. I would be more than happy to share with you, what I've come up with thus far. I was thinking of sending network executives the completed pilot. Maybe get some early reviews

WINCHESTER REBOOT!!!
The Hour long drama series has been on a long hiatus, and whether or not it would even return has become a question. Series Co-Creator Matthew James, has decided that the series would best be rebooted, in order to give the series it’s best chance, and that it will return as a half hour dramedy. On the difference in format James started “I think a large part of the problem with the Original was that an hour long drama was difficult to read through every week, as some times the story needs to move slowly.” James also revealed that the pilot has been completed, and that the story for the new first season arc is also set.
Most of the core cast has been re-casted, Blake Lively, Josh Zuckerman, Andrew Garfield, Jana Kramer, Ashley Tisdale, and Tyler Blackburn would not return. Only Alison Brie and Michael Trevino are set to reprise their roles. James stated that; all though the pilot episode would be similar to that of the original, the series would heavily drift away from what the series became.
New storylines would drive the first season, and will revolve around Jake Farrell (Formerly Everett’s), an aspiring news reporter who arrives at the campus, and attempts to navigate the school, as he and Editor Maya Raymond, attempt to save the failing campus newspaper (The Winchester Beat).
New cast members being considered include.
Emma Stone as Tracy Clark. A cheerleader who desires to be anything but, she is strong, sassy and trying desperately to hold onto her relationship with the ever changing and increasingly hostile Pete Hall, the captain of the football team. Luke Mitchell as Jake Farrell. A late admission student, who aspires to be a New reporter, he is kind, charming and trusting. He forms quick relationships with Lily Montgomery and Charlie Evans. He also has budding relationship with Editor of the Winchester Beat, Maya Raymond. Dan Byrd as Charlie Evans. Is quiet, awkward and finds it extremely difficult talking with most woman (expect Lily), he recruits Lily and Jake to help him win over his dream girl. Alison Brie as Lily Montgomery. The resident bookworm, and know it all, Lily tends to take things over the top, and has loud personality, but is very kind, and has the biggest heart of anyone. She is Charlie and Jake’s roommate and best friend, and the only girl Charlie can manage to speak with. Janel Parrish as Maya Raymond. The Editor of Winchester Beat, Maya is driven almost to a fault, and tends to put the story above the people in it. She has trouble connecting, and is dismayed to discover the dean plans to cut the paper by semester’s end, unless Maya can drastically increase readership, as a result Maya teams up with Jake to save it. Michael Trevino as Pete Hall. The captain of the campus football team and it’s star, as such Pete tends to get away with a lot, and has let the starlight go to his head, which is largely destroying his relationship with his long-time girlfriend Tracy. Pete quickly dislikes Charlie and Jake, and plots to make their life difficult. He holds them responsible for most of the bad things that have happened, since Jake’s arrival. Hayden Pannettiere as Eve Wise. The manipulative, cold, vindictive and ruthless president of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority house, despite her harsh personality she’s Tracy’s best friend, being kind to only her. She is quickly blackmailed by Maya and forced to join the Beat, and write the gossip column. The series is being penned and will hopefully air early 2016 if it’s picked up. As a thank you to the long-time fans of the series, keep a look out for another article which will reveal the story line for the second season, and explain where all the core characters would have ended up.

Yeah, there are plans to show some of those consequences, I'm working on a recurring character to serve as a psychologist to "help" Matt through everything, and to determine whether or not he is a further danger to himself or others or whether this was just a cry for help. Well Shannon herself suffers through some of those consequences.. in the aspect of kids being mean and all that.

NOTES: This idea grew from trying to take the Fallen, and turning it into adult cantered series. It is loosely based on the Alan Wake, one of my favourite games ever, this will be a webisode series, with my main focus being put on the Fallen, I had a pilot written but my laptop reset for updates and I lost it! luckily it was about 13 pages so it won't be hard to re write. Season one features 8 episodes with a conclusion, so it can be a one season series, but I do have a plan to continue the series if comes to that. So let me know what you guys think!!!

Jack, you have given me quite a bit to think about, I've been working all night on trying to put the idea into a grown up setting. I think it frees it up a little, and eliminates the need for parental figures, not that they wouldn't play a role, but letting them be a little older also freed up casting and it's a bigger pool to draw from when they don't have to look like teenagers, but I did run with this idea of having all the main cast have starred as high school students, and have a Shannon, I know you'll love, which I'm highly thinking of Kristen Bell for.
And instead of all going to high school together, I was working on this idea of having them all work in a bar/restaurant together so it's like Waiting meet's Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I think that's definitely something that will be looked into. I had to think of how to do possession early in the pilot. So I had to think up all that stuff, I wanted to keep it fresh and keep it separated from Supernatural. I had to think up how the fallen play into it and it does include death.

CREATOR'S NOTE: Once again, another pitch for The Fallen, I have tried my best to take all of your comments into consideration, which have brought about several changes, and an attempt to bring it back to it's original form.. After hearing feedback that people wanted to see Daniel Sharman in the lead role for Matt for example, and after receiving feeback that the priest should be kept alive to provide a mentor role for the siblings, Father Thomas's role will be fleshed out and extended at least until the end of season one, but I have been enjoying writing such a tortured character so there is a decent chance it could extend beyond that. The pilot is in the works and will be vastly different from the last few.. a big example is the boyfriend will no longer be a villain, but a constant drive for Shannon to give Matt a second chance.. he provides an interesting role, and is the first person in her life to show Shannon how to be a leader. And finally for a return to form, Robert Patrick has been written back in, to play Henry Reed, Justin's father of a detective.. replacing Emma Caulfied.. all though I plan to have her return as Cassandra Reed at some point, all though it's a good bet she won't be a detective.. And another returning character is Haley now played by Deborah Ann Woll, who I loved in Daredevil. I though she would be perfect for an Aunt, there is another character I am working on who will be Reed's partner, in the last draft he was played by George Eads. Though I would like to maybe go with either Micheal Raymond James or David Ramsey for the role, I like to think both can play a cop well, and the character will most likely be a love interest to Haley. If anyone would like to see either play the role, let me know below, and whichever has the most votes will land the role. The pilot should be available by the end of the week, I'm halfway through a first pass, I'm trying to take my time, rather than rush it. I'm trying to come up with each scene and the dynamic between the characters in, I'm working to make each character sound vastly different. I'm also going to try and do some graphics during the week as well
