Greetings, all. There's been a lot of soul searching lately. People considering their next move, trying to figure out the next step, pondering hard on how we can move forward. And while a lot of those plans are still blossoming, I am pleased to bring you a whole raft of New Stuff to help freshen things up and make the MZPtv forums a whole new interactive experience for our users. Here's a breakdown of some of the changes:
- I've re-ordered the forums, getting rid of the cumbersome and ineffective genre labels, and bringing in a clearer system. Now you can see at a glance what's now, what's future, and what's past (as well as being able to see more detailed genre info below each show).
- The old fanfic stuff is currently hidden while we continue to re-arrange things. More on that sometime soon.
- We've now got SimplePortal installed. More on that below.
- I've paid for a special "alerts" system, which is at the top of the board (directly to the right of the MZPtv logo). It works much like Facebook's alerts system, and will tell you when stuff happens on the fly, without refreshing the board. Hopefully.
- We've now (finally) got a donations button, which is bottom left of the blocks. More on that below.
- I had to remove all of the old custom themes (for many reasons), but I've created a new darker version of the MZPtv theme for people who prefer white on black. There's a quick theme select block to the left.
SimplePortal ExplainedSome of you may totally get what SP does, some of you (Tony) may need a little bit of explaining. Basically, it's a content management system which allows you to display certain information via "blocks" (as you can see to the left of the forum). These blocks are highly customisable, and we can put all sorts of things there. The benefits are clear to see, especially in terms of showing latest releases, new posts, and new articles right there in clear view. If you click "Home" in the top menu bar, you'll also be taken to the standalone portal page, which acts as a sort of blog. We'll hopefully be using this in various ways -- such as showcasing articles, user blog posts, and new episodes. Donations ExplainedAs always, we'll NEVER ask people to pay for our VS or our community, but people have expressed a desire to contribute. Lee spends quite a lot on hosting, and I've dug into my pocket for competition prizes and forum add-ons, so any way you could help out would be INCREDIBLE. Every penny will be split 50/50 between myself and Lee, with his cut going towards the hosting and mine towards more competitions and add-ons. Please don't feel obliged to contribute, it's totally voluntary (and anonymous -- your donations will stay between you and me). That's all for now. Lots more cool things coming, including a whole raft of new and returning series this fall/winter. Keep on trucking, kids.

Set to become MZPtv's new flagship show, NATASHA TYREEN will premiere exclusively on SUNDAY 13TH JANUARY 2013. Created by LEE A. CHRIMES ( Somewhere InBetween, Faith, Slayer Academy), the show follows its eponymous private investigator battling all manner of futuristic crime amid the Blade Runner-esque landscapes of 2033 Birmingham. The show originally premiered in 2006 and ran for ten episodes. This new series, a reboot of that original show, boasts the writing talents of some of MZPtv's biggest names including A.J. BLACK ( The DSR, Schism), SARAH-JANE SHEPPARD ( The Company), ADAM SCOTT ( Walker), PETE D. GASKELL ( Operation Angry Badger, Modesty Blaise), JT VAUGHN ( Cult Hero), KYLE MACDONALD ( Batman: Origin), CHRIS HAIGH ( Chosen) and TOM EAST ( Slayer Academy), with more superstar writers lined up for future episodes. Series creator Lee A Chrimes said: "This is one of my longest-developed projects, stemming right the way back to prose serials from 1995, so to finally bring Natasha to MZPtv in a way that matches my ambitious vision for the show is a dream come all kinds of true. Building the world twenty years from now for the show to operate in has been a challenge, but with the cream of MZP's talent on board it's been plenty of fun thus far!" The show is set to premiere with an initial run of six episodes: 1x01 - "BAD MEMORY" (Lee A. Chrimes) 1x02 - "SPYING GAME" (Sarah-Jane Sheppard) 1x03 - "SKIN TRADE" (Adam Scott) 1x04 - "BACKGROUND CHECK" (Pete D. Gaskell) 1x05 - "LOST CRUSADE" (A.J. Black) 1x06 - "TOP STORIES" (Lee A. Chrimes) Six further episodes are currently in production to air later in 2013.

Our first premiere of 2013 has come around, with the return of ADAM SCOTT and TONY BLACK's "KINGS CROSS" for its Season 2 run. "Eight months after the investigation into the Kings Cross incident was terminated after a series of failures, a devastating new incident is the trigger, alongside a brutal murder, that puts David and Buchannan back on a collision course as the spectre of that fateful day returns to haunt their lives once more…" Whether you're planning on catching up on S1 or jumping in with S2, all comments (however long or short) are most welcomed.
