Following the death of their mother, Luke Smith moves back to Bannerman Road look after Sky and carry on his mothers legacy along with Clyde and Rani.

An artificial human, the Archetype was the creation of the Bane. On the day of his "birth" he met Maria Jackson, from whom he also started to learn how to speak, and helped defeat the invasion plan of his creators. He afterwards received the name, "Luke Smith", after being adopted by Sarah Jane Smith. Even having been created rather than born, he had the physical form of a teenager despite his actual age being much younger. Following his mothers death he left Oxford to take care of his family but the aliens still on coming
Sinead Michael as Sky Smith
Sky Smith was created by Miss Myers, a member of a Fleshkind race, as a weapon intended to exterminate the Metalkind. She was later adopted by Sarah Jane Smith. She shared a similarity with Sarah Jane's son Luke Smith in that while she had the physical appearance of a pre-teen, she was actually a "newborn". Being the newest to the group Sky took Sarah Janes death the hardest
Daniel Anthony as Clyde Langer
Clyde attended school with Luke and Maria when he first got involved in fighting aliens. He is hoping to become a comic book artist. He has romantic feelings for Rani

Rani Chandra was a teenage girl who lived on Bannerman Road. She assisted Sarah Jane Smith and her friends in combating alien menaces and protecting the Earth from natural threats originating from space.
Yasmin Paige as Maria Jackson
Maria Jackson was a teenage girl who lived on Bannerman Road. She assisted Sarah Jane Smith and her friends in combatting alien menaces and protecting the Earth from natural threats originating from space. She moved to America with her father but decided to stay with Luke following Sarah-Janes funeral.
Alexander Armstrong as the voice of Mr Smith
Mr Smith was a super-computer owned by Sarah Jane Smith, located in the attic of Sarah Jane's house at 13 Bannerman Road. It was revealed that he was actually a Xylok embedded into the computer.
John Leeson as the voice of K-9
After Mark III sacrificed himself to defeat the Krillitanes, the Doctor left a new model, Mark IV, for Sarah Jane Smith, just seconds after he departed in his TARDIS. K9 referred to himself as being rebuilt and improved, suggesting Mark IV possessed the same memories as Mark III. Though Sarah Jane didn't find this out right away, the Doctor had also placed some gifts in a panel in K9's side: sonic lipstick and a Scanner Watch that could detect alien life. After spending about a year guarding a black hole K-9 joined the Bannerman road gang for a while he lived in Oxford with Luke but returned after Sarah Janes death.
