That's right folks, executive producers of theVPN's action/adventure series, "Trinity," have just confirmed the series' cancelation! Season two has been cut short and no new episodes of that story will be aired. But don't fret, there is a silver lining. We can also confirmed that in the past few weeks, a reboot of the series has been in the works and is planned to hit theVPN late 2013 - early 2014!
So there you have it. One door closes, but another one is being opened. What are you thoughts on the cancelation? Are you glad it's not quite the end for Lana Lang's journey, but a new beginning? Sound off below!
Personal Statement from Series Creator, Chris Davis:
Trinity is a show that I started in 2010. Only airing one full season, and five episodes of season two, the series hasn't aired new content in over a year! Deciding that the project would be better off in someone else's hands, I gave the showrunning rights to one of my executive producers, Karl Hurd. But what I failed to take into consideration was that I was giving him MY story; MY vision; and asking him to finish what I started, which was pretty impossible and unfair of me to do.
That being said, something had to be done, or "Trinity" would just dissolve into nothing. A few weeks ago, I came to Karl with the notion of canceling Trinity, and completely rebooting the story of Lana Lang. And now, we're doing just that. With the entire first season arc planned, with new stories, new characters, as well as some of the original, together, we plan on making a bigger and better series.
I know a lot of people might be disappointed by this. To readers who loved the original story; you will not be forgotten, as we've brought MANY elements of the original series into the reboot. Also, all continuity errors made in Lana's transition from Smallville to "Trinity" have been pretty much fixed; for example, the interpretation of the Prometheus suit. We've also made changes to characters like Cynthia Reynolds with hopes of making her a more likable individual, as well as Jake Gold, who is no longer a part of the series, although Paul Wesley remains in the cast.
We hope you all can get behind this idea, and support the new reboot like you did the original. Karl, who has been bumped up to co-series creator, as well as the shows executive producers and I are working extremely hard to get you all the story you deserve.
