MAJOR CASTING CHANGE! Beau Mirchoff the actor formerly set to play the role of Justin Reese, has left the series, and will now be played by ICarly and VPN's Audition star Nathan Kress. When asked to comment on the major change, series creator James had this to say. "Were more than happy with the way things have turned out,(Nathan) Kress is the perfect embodiment of what we wanted for "Justin", the first two episodes will be reshot for to include the actor, and his first fresh episode will be the third episode which is titled Origins."In other casting and episode information news. Three new recurring characters are joining with the third episode, they are mirror version of our McAllister family in almost everyway, the patriarch of the family will be headed by Scott Wilson, who will play Victor Cassidy, a power hungry, cold hearted man with ill intentions, joining the Northwood population, we will be having his grand children Ava Cassidy who will be played by Hayden Pannettiere, she will at first seem like a sweet and bubbly sixteen year old, but will later be revealed to be just as manipulative and cruel as her grandfather, and than we have the more kind Noah Cassidy, played by Lucas Grabeel, he is a soldier, and often feels like his grandfather loves his sister more, but despite his feelings is extremely loyal to his family and is willing to die for both of them. James also revealed that the Cassidy siblings will serve as love interest's for more than two of our characters, which implies a love triangle. NOTE: New episode descriptions have been added to the episode guide.

All right the new first episode is done, as is the first half of the second episode. The problem I find is that the first two episodes are a two parter. The second part is arguably the more important.
The first episode ("In The Begging")establishes the characters and the dynamics and puts the McAllister's into some peril plus draws our core four together, where the second episode "Destiny in the Details" delves into the Mythology, explains the score, gives us our first nightmare sequence, gives us a dim prophecy, raises the stakes and introduces our big bad for the season.
I know that ultimately I want to air them together as a two parter but when it comes in terms for pitching I'm not really sure what to do, to be honest the second episode is my personal favorite of the two.
I could always post the "Pilot" on the pitch page and just send the second episode too the committee?

I've read the newly released 2-part episode, and I enjoyed it, it was very gritty, the characters felt real on the page for the most part, and I enjoyed reading until the end.
Story-wise, I do have a couple of points to voice, and I hope you understand I am saying them because I am just trying to offer constructive criticism, in order to smooth out some rough edges that I personally have perceived - you may very well already have a plan in mind that I don't know.
1) I was disappointed you killed off the George Eads character so quickly, was hoping to see more of the cop-partnership later on.
2) It isn't really made clear how much the father knows about everything, but saying that, I hope he doesn't know that much, because it's a different twist having them work out their gifts on the fly, whereas going the route of having someone 'teach' them.
3) I also thought the friends accepted the freakiness going on all too quickly, both rolling with it as quickly as it comes.
4) The character of Kyle seemed a bit too stereotypical "undercover evil boyfriend", a la Jeremy from the first episode of Charmed - until the twist of his reveal as still being alive and being used by Amara. This I liked, but it did feel like some of his dialogue - taunting Shannon about how he had to put up with girl crap - wasn't really necessary.
5) Finally, I would suggest a radical re-edit of the 'pitch' is necessary, just for anyone who comes along and reads that, then comes to this page, and sees the episode available, because SO MANY things have changed, it might get a bit confusing for one-off readers who might stumble into it.
A non-story related nitpick - you talk above about casting Nathan Kress as the new Justin, but you credit Darren Criss in the role on page, plus you also repeat the first scene of Act Five, even to the point of having 'Act Five' start again (page 47-50 on my read version).

Alex, I just wanted to thank you for reading the two part pilot and glad you enjoyed it. I'm glad the character's felt real. I've been watching the character's shows and sort of got their voices stuck in my head now so it helps and don't feel bad nothing you said was too bad so onto your complaints. 1) George Eads character Detective David Morrison, I killed him in order to drive Cassandra's character. My plan was to watch her sort of spiral as she struggles to understand what is happening and tries to figure everything out and maybe push what the lines of justice are. I've always loved character's like Daryl Morris, Andy Trudeau, Kate Lockley and Sheriff Stilinski. the "normal" cops thrown into supernatural worlds. Plus don't worry well no one can be replaced, positions do need filling so a partner may be on the way for Cassandra. 3) I'm jumping to three first because it ties in with my choice to kill off Morrison, you said it felt like the character's sort of roll with what happened. Which they do, mostly of loyalty and their "different" loves for Shannon. But when thing's get physically dangerous for Emily she does distance her self for a little while, but Shannon is able to win her back. When it comes to Justin, it's a little established but he sort of the nerdy one, the geek and I think he likes playing hero, he doesn't understand the seriousness of his situation, and even though they "think" they watch Kyle die, it's sort of like the heroes defeating the villain in Justin's eye's, but with Morrison's death the stakes are raised and reality will hit him. Part of the third episode will be about establishing Justin's relationship with Morrison and how having his mother injured and losing someone he was close to will sort of make him realize he's not in a video game. 2) George McAllister knows about as much as the kids do, I think the whole Nephilim line comes from the mother's side of the family. I think she like anyone wanted a normal relationship and managed to keep George in the dark. He's going to learn everything as the teens do, so when it comes to "teaching" them, he will help but he'll sort of be winging it as much as they are. 4) Kyle's role changed and he plays a much bigger role than I had originally intended and is going to play a pretty big role as the season progresses, we are going to discover more about what or who we saw while he was "evil". I felt pretty much the way you did after re-reading it and decided their needed to be a twist. Having him be alive in the end and having him be the devil's vessel felt right. 5) and yes, I do plan to re-edit the pitch nowish, ha ha your right a lot had changed and I will be fixing it, as for Nathan, well he could of been really good, I don't know about you but when I read I like to be very visual and it sort of felt weird to me him being so much shorter than the rest of the kids, because the rest of the cast is so much older than he is, it would of looked odd. But with Darren at 26 years old, Lucy being 24, Steven at 25 and Holland the oldest at 27. It looks a lot better in my opinion, but that as well will be fixed. As for the script issues, SON OF A BITCH!? I don't know what happened their, I will go back fix it and repost it. It did the same thing with Act Four but that I had noticed, I don't know how I missed that. ARGG! Anyway's after my little editing outburst, thanks again Alex. I hope this helps

Was going to make a new image graphic's for Darren Criss, but instead somehow came up with this, I'm actually really proud of it. Main Cast from left to right: Holland Roden (Emily Ashford), Lucy Hale (Shannon McAllister), Steven R.McQueen (Matt McAllister), Darren Criss (Justin Reese).

VPNtoday brings us a look at few of the recurring character’s set to appear should the new Supernatural /Apocalyptic/Drama series come to light, each character different from the last and each serving their own purposes and agenda’s.
Meritt Patterson currently starring in the “Pretty Little Liars” spin-off ”Ravenswood” is set to appear in the third episode as Nora Evans, an already unhinged human being, who suddenly finds herself thrown into the center of the apocalypse. Nora is set to become an Angel, giving us a look at exactly how such a thing happens and promises it will be different from the CW series “Supernatural”, which also heavily features Angel mythology. Her character allegiance is at first unclear but by the end of her first episode she shows us exactly who’s side she’s on.
Noah Bean just coming off of the CW spy drama “Nakita” is set to play the role of Eric Wilson, a detective who will be filling in for Cassandra Reese while she is recovering from the events of the premiere, and may stick around as her new partner. Wilson is described as a classic do-gooder and a by the books kind of cop, always looking to do the right thing. He clashes quickly with Cassandra when they do eventually met, with her not being so worried about bending rules but producer’s promise Wilson will be an important person to not just Reese but the teens involved with the prophecy as well.
Connor Paolo known from the CW’s “Gossip Girl” and ABC’s “Revenge” will play the role of Elliot Price a child genius and famed computer hacker, who will be working alongside Amara but that doesn’t exactly make Elliot evil, he goes where the money takes him, his loyalty often goes to the biggest pay cheque. He at first will have an easy time working with Amara, but eventually when he’s forced to step away from his computer and look at the full picture and the damage he’s causing and what this will cost the world, he may be forced to examine his choices.
John Noble of “Fringe” has been cast in one of the bigger roles of the season as Archangel Raphael. He makes his first appearance towards the end of the fourth episode, producers were hesitant to release information about the character but promise that Raphe will be shedding some light on the apocalypse and the roles of not just the Fallen but also the Keeper as well.

Thanks The Doctor, Also I've updated the episode guide to include description's of the first half of the season. The first half will revolve around Lucifer's rising and the second... well that I'm keeping to myself but, as hinted in the guide the season finale takes place in Egypt and will be huge. So expect casualties on both sides Alex Matthews since I love killing people off so much ... I think I may have a problem. Lol. I basically plan to split to the season into two stories, so each has a beginning, rise, and climax feeling to them. I showed Karl a play by play of what was going to happen in the third episode, and he said in his own words it was "glorious" expect to see, new powers, new revelations, new friends, new villains, nears deaths and a lot of tears.
