Hi Hayden, great to see you back on theVPN and pitching yet again. But lets get into the pitch.
I am an avid Doctor Who fan, love the show and it's current incarnation. But I feel doing a River Song spin off is a bit off for me, I'm not saying a River Song spin off is a bad idea. Just ever since she was first introduced, it was to my knowledge that her story was pretty laid out. And as of recently in the Christmas Special, it came to it's official end. But that is just me. I don't think you can do a River Song story without the Doctor being present in some form, but again that is just what I am used too.
I know this is an undeveloped pitch but with River's story, it would be nice to know where in her timeline she is. Is this after she and the Doctor have their "last" encounter at the singing towers? Or is it before their picnic on Asgard. With River's story it is a very complicated one because she is always having to sync her Diary with the Doctor to figure out where in the timelines they have met up. And it's also, you don't want to mess with what is already canon. Doctor Who has an EXPANSIVE 50+ year history and even I admit, it would be very complicated. But if you can handle it and manage to put out a pilot, I will definitely take a read and see what you come up with.
I would like to see in the future, more detail in your pitches, take the time to actually think things out and plan. So my advice to you would be to step back and plan out a full series such as planning out episodes, planning out characters, planning out stories. But again, I would like to see a pilot from you before I make anymore judgements, so if you get that done, I will gladly give it a read.
