So glad The Walking Dead is back. I was really missing my weekly dose of uber undead goodness.

Am I the only one, or has Carol been stepping up her game in a big way this season? I felt like this week's episode was all about her. She had some really good scenes with Carl and Beth. She's come so far from the passive, laundry-doing woman of the first two seasons.
Just a shame they're probably going to kill her off by the end of the season... oh well, it was nice while it lasted...

I'm not going to lie but I was secretly hoping she was gonna get pissed and kill some of the zombies at the gate when Rick told her Daryl took off with his brother. I wasn't a huge fan of this episode though. Maybe I was just expecting more after a hiatus.

^I personally thought this was one of the better episodes of the season. Everything felt so... balanced. I'm thinking of the talky scenes and the action scenes, a combination this show doesn't always get right. This week, I felt all of the talky scenes were engaging, something the show can't always pride itself with ... some of them were even unusually deep ("It's all I think about"... that line in particular kinda caught me by surprise). So yeah, very happy with this one.
Only negative is how utterly stoopid the people of Woodbury are. *sigh*

I still need to watch the latest episode. I heard it wasn't all that great. Anyone see it?

^I've seen it and I while I can see why people may have had a problem with it, I personally really enjoyed it. Yeah, there isn't much zombie-killing going on but I think the conflict of the episode is interesting and all the "talkey" scenes really work.
Fair warning, though, it's Andrea-centric, so if you're one of those people who want to see her guts on a stick you'll probably struggle to get through it.

Andrea was one of my favorites last season. She no longer has that status with me, but I definitely do no hate her enough to "want to see her guts on a stick." So I might end up liking this episode if its Andrea-centric. Also, I personally enjoy the "talky" episodes, because the show should be focusing on these characters, not the zombies. That stuff's fun, but I would trade a spot of zombie slaughter for a good exchange between the characters any day. I plan on watching the episode a little later, and I'll give the verdict then.

Season four finale next week. Can't wait. I haven't read the comics, so I have no idea what's what. Is the governor going to get shot, eaten, turned or you know...all of the above? (Hopefully) Will the group be able to come out of this battle in one piece? Will there even be a battle, or will Rick and his people just be gone before the war begins? So many questions! lol Oh, and one more thing... they better not kill Michonne.

A nice, solid start to season four. New characters, relationships, and already, some good build up. Pretty great action too! I'm looking forward to this season of The Walking Dead!

I'm sort of glad the Governor is back. I was getting a little sick of seeing people with the flu for 5 weeks straight.

So, I completely forgot The Walking Dead came back tonight and missed it. Guess I'll be watching it online some time tonight.

That was easily one of, if not, the best premiere The Walking Dead has ever put out, if memory serves me right (It's the only one I actually remember, but thats probably because it aired a week ago). But whether that statement is valid or not, there's one thing I do know..... Carol is a beast. Really looking forward to the rest of the season.

This show can be so disturbing sometimes. I honestly don't know how I'm still surprised by how dark and twisted it gets, but last night's episode - the ending, in particular - made me feel a little sick. Not gonna lie. LOL Love this season so far. Bring on the rest of the season!

Review: "Coda"
So this year's mid season finale felt predictable but... still none the less shocking. I felt like they had been building towards it all year. I remember in season two when Dale had died they talked about how he was the moral compass, and losing him sent everyone into chaos, while I think that Beth's death and which is further made evident by Rick's attitude this episode, signifies the loss of innocence.
I think that Beth's dying exactly a year after her father, is not the coincidence it seems, Hershel a man who kind of started off a as villain himself, spent most of his time on the series reminding everyone/and us that no one is too far gone, while I think it's interesting that Beth is the character who calls bullshit on him by trying to kill Dawn. Telling us that yes... some people are too far gone.
I liked the build up of the main story line this season, while a few episodes fell a little flat, I much rather enjoyed it over 3B. I think that this group of characters work best when they're all together.
But I do think it's funny that on the same night as this episode airs, I had just finished watching Once Upon A Time and gotten the pay off to one of my favorite sister stories ever... about the power of sisters and family... and never giving up on your siblings... than watched "Coda" and was reminded once more that Maggie Greene is totally the worst sister of all time.

I thought last season was pretty lackluster, but looking forward to season six!
Also, Fear the Walking Dead is looking pretty great!
