Now was that an absolutely amazing season opener or was it... an absolutely amazing season opener? F me, if THIS is what we're starting with, what the hell are the other episodes like? *good shudder*
Speaking of kicking things up, they made Carl easily likeable in just one episode. I'm happy. Yes. Yes. He's finally arrived, the one from the comics...
Only complaint is that there was way too little Michonne/Andrea stuff. Let's hope we get an increased dose of them in episode 2.

^^ I agree! I LOVED this premiere. I really liked how the first 10 mins had no dialogue, but you got all their feelings by their body language, and looks. FANTASTIC! I spent the entire episode thinking "Who's going to die?" Because it honestly felt like someone was going to die, there was that much tension. And is it just me or did this episode seem more gruesome, if that's even possible Lol.

^Totally agree about the first few scenes. Amazing way to start off the episode. I was breathless. They didn't waste any time and in two-three seconds we're seeing them running around the house, shooting zombies and picking through cabinets in silence. No set up or lengthy reintroductions whatsoever. I loved it!

I really loved the premiere! The fact that the teaser had like, no dialogue whatsoever, made it that much more intense, and they really brought us right back into both the story and the action. I missed The Walking Dead soo much, and if the rest of the season is as good as the premiere, I will be a very happy camper!
And Amin, yes!! What a great transition for Carl. I couldn't stand the little bugger last season, and already, I find him 10x more enjoyable, just from one episode. Hopefully it sticks. I hope they find something for T-Dog to do though. I always forget he even exists until they show him on screen and I'm like... "Oh yeah... he's part of the group too."
All in all, fantastic way to start the new season!

Aand we're continuing well. Some nice progressions. Rick had probably his baddest assest moment so far in the show. Carl probably saved the life of the man who saved his life (aww) and continues on the likeability path. Yay! I've also surprisingly grown fond of Carol as well. And I kinda liked Lori too in this episode.

This season is amazing so far. I know we're only two episodes in, but they've seriously blown me away. Rick is a total bad ass. I love how far these characters have come. Wow. They're really living in a harsh world, and the writer's really know how to remind us of that. When Hershel was "dying" I was just sitting there, wanting to slap Lori for trying to give him the kiss of life. I just knew she was gonna get her face eaten off. I screamed ridiculously loud when he woke up. God, this show does something to me that turns me into a 12-year old boy at times. haha! I'm loving this prison storyline; it's shaping up to be one of my favorites of the show so far, and I'm looking forward to catching up with Andrea and Michonne for next week's episode!

Season three has been brilliant so far. I love the direction it's going in, especially after tonight's episode. I was wondering how the two groups would merge and we're finally starting to see the beginning of that. I'm looking forward to seeing how everything unfolds in the coming weeks. And, I knew Carol wasn't dead. I just knew the writers wouldn't kill her off screen. How freaking lame would that have been. Didn't buy it for a second. lol

This show is currently one of the best things on television right now. I mean, COME ON! The story line for each season is amazing and the current season three is looking to be pretty amazing. I was sad to see certain folk go but I just love where they're taking us right now. As a long time fan of the comic books (I have all the 'chapters' and it cost me well over 100 pounds), I'm really pleased to see how all the characters are being spotlighted right now.
Am I the only one who wants to murder Merle for being the typical douche he always is? Are we sympathetic towards the Govenor's actions? (He reminds me of that Bear in Toy Story 3 who led people to believe he was this nice and lovable person but really isn't.) Do we think Laurie shouldn't have....you know?
I want to discuss!

HAHA! I love that you just compared the Governor to the Bear in Toy Story. And you're so right!! I'm loving the dark place the writer's are taking these characters. That's what I love about this show, it's not about the zombies, it's about the people. Strong bonds and connections. I love it. Season Three has to be my favorite season so far. Really intense and just plain FANTASTIC!

No more episodes until February?! Well, that's depressing. The mid-season finale was awesome. I can't believe how brilliant this season has been. A slow burner, but lots of drama, action and compelling moments, not like that's any different than any other season, but season three has got to be my favorite, by far. Looking forward to the return!

I recently caught up on all The Walking Dead episodes. My cousin had all the episodes on his computer and gave them to us so my Dad, sisters, and I watched the whole lot in just a few days. I honestly loved it but then also didn't love it? I've read most the graphic novel issues for The Walking Dead so I was kinda torn between wishing they had stuck closer to the original material and loving the new characters and twists they added to the tv show so that I didn't know everything that was going to happen XD

The New Showrunner for The Walking Dead Has Been Chosen
The Walking Dead is one of the most popular television shows on cable and it's managed to stay that way through all of the hierarchy changes. When the show was confirmed to be returning for it's fourth season this fall, it was also announced that Season 3 showrunner Glen Mazzara would be leaving the production. THR is now reporting that executive producer Scott Gimple has been promoted to showrunner for the fourth season.
Gimple joined the show at the start of its second season working as a producer and he is credited with writing five episodes. He is also credited with writing the screenplay for Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance among other television series.
The promotion of Gimple makes him the third showrunner for The Walking Dead since its premiere just a few years ago. Frank Darabont brought the series to life and was let go halfway through production on the second season when Glen Mazzara was promoted. Mazzara will part ways with the network when work on the third season has finished.
The Walking Dead returns from hiatus on February 10 and here is a also new TV spot for its return.
