Rose has been a slave for most of her life... but a man named Rex one day saves her from her life and takes her to a society called The Children of The Earth where she is treated as a god almost... for she is the daughter of the skies. Rose has amazing healing powers... and probably a lot more unexplored powers.

But there are sinister forces at work... sinister forces that want Rose and her powers for themselves.

REGULAR CHARACTERS:


CASSIDY FREEMAN as Rose, a young woman who has lived as a slave for most of her life... but one day everything changes for her. She is at first uncomfortable with being treated almost as a god... but slowly finds herself accepting her destiny.


JARED PADALECKI as Rex, the man who saved Rose from slavery and a very experienced fighter. Unlike many of The Children of The Earth women, he has no magical abilities... but secretly desires them.


OLIVIA WILDE as Danica, a Children of The Earth member with strong magical abilities. She is very talkative and Rex finds her annoying... Danica sneaks after Rex and Rose on their first mission together and shows her worth while out there on the field.

RECURRING CHARACTERS:


ANJELICA HUSTON as Latifa, a powerful magician and leader of The Children Of The Earth.


TIM CURRY as The Supreme Lord, the monstruous leader of the arch-nemesis group of The Children Of The Earth, Lords Of The Mountains. He too is searching for Rose and now finds out that she is in the hands of The Children Of The Earth through his Oracle.


HUNTER PARRISH as Flint, a Villager our trio encounter in the first episode. He helps them greatly when The Lords Of The Mountains attack and he has a very special "encounter" with Rose.

Synopsis: Rose is rescued from slavery by a man named Rex, who then takes her to The Earthly Palace. There, she is treated almost as a god... and it appears she has a big destiny ahead of her. Rex and Rose (and Danica) embark on their first mission together... but it could end up being their last, when The Lords Of The Mountains set out after them.

So, this is a series inspired by Legend of The Seeker... and I thought, why not add a female lead? That's not something I've seen in fantasy before.

I haven't finished the pilot yet, but I've had it on my computer untouched for days... so I figured, I'll post it here and see if you think I should continue writing.

I like this pitch. It's something different to the other shows here at the VPN and the underlying premise seems really interesting. I liked what I read of the pilot script though it could do with a bit of refinement, though I assume since it's unfinished you haven't really gone through and edited much so it's not that big of a deal at the moment.
I do have one problem and that's with the casting of Rex. I don't know, it could just be me but I don't think Jared Padalecki suits the character you've created. I think someone older might suit better, or at least someone who seems older. Again though, that's just my opinion.
Anyway, lovely pitch and with a bit of work I think it could be something quite special

Regarding the Rex-casting, well, I think people might have misunderstood his role. He is not meant as a mentor-figure for Rose... he is the same age as her, only with a very different background.
