Breaking Bad is the story of Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a struggling high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with advanced lung cancer at the beginning of the series. He turns to a life of crime, producing and selling methamphetamine with a former student, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), with the aim of securing his family's financial future before he dies. Starring Bryan Cranston (Walter White), Anna Gunn (Skyler White) Aaron Paul (Jesse Pinkman), Dean Norris (Hank Schrader), Betsy Brandt (Marie Schrader), RJ Mitte (Walter White,Jr.), Bob Odenkirk (Saul Goodman), Giancarlo Esposito (Gustavo "Gus" Fring) and Jonathan Banks (Mike Ehrmantraut) Basically, this series is easily one of the best currently on TV. Amazing performances from the entire cast, addictive as hell storylines and some of the best characters you will ever lay your eyes on.

Catch up with the show NOW. I'm currently watching season 4 in preparation for the next, final season. Absolutely floored on how they can write characters so well... It really makes me feel inadequate.

Happy to report that I'm on season two! I know I won't be able to get caught up before season five airs on the 15th, but at least I'm watching. This show is amazing. It really is

I'm halfway through season three and I can honestly say that breaking bad is one of the best shows I have ever seen. The plot is so fresh and intriguing. The character development, especially with Walter, has been so amazing to witness and the dramatic tension the writers are able to create in each episode is incredible. I'm loving this show!! I'd recommend it to anyone.

I am about halfway through the season five episodes that have aired and WOW! Seriously, this show keeps getting better. The character development is phenomenal when you think of season one until now. Ridiculously hilarious and smart dialogue. I'm gonna be soo sad when this series ends, even though I just started watching it on Netflix two weeks ago. Lol. I was almost late for work this morning because I was watching the episode... ...when Skylar told Walter she was a coward and wouldn't go to the DEA and would continue to launder his money and just wait for him to get cancer again and die. I was WOW Lol. Just thinking about it is giving me chills. FANTASTIC!! Honestly, I think the only way they could end this series proper is for him to get cancer again and die. Seriously, I think that would bring it full circle.

^^ Yes!! Darrin, this show is soo fantastic. Like you, I managed to get through the entire series so far in a matter of weeks. That's just how hooked I was. I agree. Walter's death is the only outcome I can imagine for the series' end. Not only because it would bring the story full circle, but as much as it pains me to say it, because he's such a great character, he deserves to die. LMAO!

While I think a great ending would be him losing everyone he cares for in some way but staying alive, cancer-free. His cancer is gone, the reason he got himself into the whole mess in the first place, his family is gone, his motivation throughout the entire series... and here he's left with a fuckload of money but nothing to live for anymore. I think that'd be rather perfect. Walter gets to suffer the consequences of his actions forever. Death is too easy.

^^ That would be even more powerful. But damn... really cruel. Not that I'm a softy, but I'm not sure if they have the chutzpah to do that. HAHA! But oh my god... I like the way you think.

Haha, if there's any show that's got the "chutzpah" to be cruel to its characters (Gale *sob*) it's Breaking Bad. However, whatever ending they decide to settle on, I'm sure they'll make it the best ending possible. I have full confidence in them. They've earned it big time. edit: Or what if we got the best of both worlds, what with that eerie flashforward at the start of season five with Walt buying the machine gun from Bobby from Supernatural ... Walter White, having lost it all by his 52nd birthday, decides to blast some bitches away. Then dies from lots of bullet holes in his body. Spectacular.

I would pay any kind of money to see him blast Skylar with a machine gun!

...oh god noes, you're one of them Skyler haters. I can't relate there I'm afraid. Seriously, I find myself in full support of Skyler and (most of, at least) her actions and reactions. Her husband (protagonist or not, let's face it...) is a murderous, sociopathic ass who doesn't know any limit at this point. I think she's reacting the only way one could react in that situation, being forced to live with that sort of person without any power to change things for herself or for her children. All through episode 4 of S5, I felt nothing but pity watching the dead expression on her face all until that haunting (but somehow beautiful...) pool scene. Even when she asked for Walt's cancer to come back, I wasn't annoyed with her, I just felt sorry that she had been forced into that corner. And on top of the understanding, I also just find her an enjoyable character. She's very fun to watch in both good and bad weather. I loved watching her trick the car wash out from under the eyebrows of doom. And equally I loved watching her with that wine in the diner scenes in season five. I guess that's just a testament to how damn well the BR writers handle their characters. I don't think I've hated a single character so far other than Ted Beneke. God, was he a selfish prick... and so idiotic it was painful to watch.

The points you just made are all great and valid ones, and while I do appreciate her character, and of course, her complex behavior based on the situation and circumstances she's been put in are, at best, understandable and realistic, I just can't love her character; I don't consider myself a Skyler hater either, but she's definitely not one of my favorites! Ted Beneke... that bastard. Now, when that whole storyline was going on, I really did feel for Skyler. I like her a lot more than I dislike her, I'll say that. No character on Breaking Bad is actually "bad," or ill-conceived. That's what makes it such a great show.

HAHA! I love Skylar. I loved some of the conversations she's had with Saul. Hilarious!! Lol. I really like this dark place they're taking her character. I mean before she could only assume her husband had killed people, he never really came out and said it like he did about Gus... BTW Um, Gus - Bomb - Awesome! lol. I think my least favorite character is Walt Jr. OMG! That kid has to be the whiniest, dick kid I have ever seen. He annoys me sooo much! Lol. Mind you he has gotten better since the episode when he came to his dad's condo and Walter was all beat up and crying, and Walt Jr. told him he was glad to see his dad was an actual person because of how weird he had been acting lately. It was touching, and Walt Jr. had a moment for me. But before that, OMG! Lol I swear there was times I was gonna throw my remote at the TV. Lol.

^Nah, I can't really be annoyed with Walt Jr. ... sorry, "Flynn". He's like furniture... he's just sort of there. He doesn't do enough to evoke any strong emotions with me. But yeah, Darrin, I agree about the episode (it was recently, in season five, wasn't it?) where he put his dad to bed and they had that heartfelt conversation. I think that's the first time I really noticed him. I mean, really noticed the character rather than just accept him as a part of the scene. It was almost like a whole new character had come onto the show and I was going "where have you been this whole time?". Before that the most he'd had to do was ask for breakfast.

HAHA! I think so, if not season five than the end of season four for sure. I think he was just frustrating through the whole "separation" of Skylar and Walter. He just acted like this shit teenager blaming his mom for everything, and treating her like shit. Maybe I was more frustrated at the fact that Skylar took it. I would of beat the little bastard HAHA! But that's just me. Lol.

^Haha! I love it when Skyler refers to herself as the "bitch mom" in relation to Walt. I love it when shows get a bit meta like that.
