IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII....think Avengers will be a good movie because of Joss Whedon but as far as being close to the comics no it's completely off and 100% wrong and I will prolly have anger spurts because people will think they know something about the comics when they won't know a damn thing from watching this movie
>.> I apologize that came out really...bitchy XD

I agree with Mads. My faith in Joss really makes me believe that it will be a good movie even if it is soooo far off. He has been trying to write and direct a Marvel movie since X-men 1 and I think now that they are finally letting him it will be good.

I am really... really surprised at the fact a LOT of people liked First Class. In fact, it kind of breaks my heart. How can you have a movie about the first X-Men and not actually have the first X-Men in it? I mean like... Let's make a movie about something pivotal and then let's, in the end, not really write it about the true story and just add a whole bunch of stuff we want to add because we want to create something new.
Now. I am ALL FOR changing stuff up. I really am. Artistic creation I completely encourage. But if you are going to TITLE your movie: The story about the first X-Men, and then not even have them in it? How do you justify that?

I totally agree with you, Monica. I can't even bare the thought of watching First Class because I know it's going to piss me off. They...made very bad decisions with that movie.

Thanks Aimee. I mean, if First Class was so popular and beloved by SO MANY, why tamper with perfection. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

God, seriously. It gets me because the first class of the X-Men was Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast, Angel and Iceman. Granted, they messed it up in the movies because Iceman and Angel were both teenagers-ish, or at least much younger than the X-Men but that is no excuse. They could have done Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Storm, and Beast.
And dlkgajsdjglskdjg. Emma Frost was not involved in that shit during the First Class. AND MYSTIQUE WAS NOT AN X-MAN. -screams- God, sorry, nerd rage. I saw a commercial for the DVD >.>

I mentioned earlier that I liked X-men: First Class but I left it there and I feel after some stuff said today I should address it XD. I've read the original Uncanny X-men comics and I ADORE THEM Uncanny is my favorite really and Stan Lee is magnificent. With that said when I saw previews for First Class I died on the inside and knew I would rage so much when I saw it....and I did A LOT. I sat in the theater freaking out half the time. But when I took myself out of the fact I wanted to kill people I felt that some stuff was clever and interesting...but it WASN'T THE FIRST X-MEN AT ALL. All in all the movie left me feeling very confused.

Here's the perspective from a guy who likes comic books but isn't really into them.
I found First Class magnificent. I know it didn't include the COMICS first X-Men, but in this universe it did. They changed alot around, I understand that, but I have no issue with that. Telling the same story with the same characters is just lazy and poor.
As for The Avengers, how can you go wrong? Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow (Who is looking VERY hot) with Joss Whedon directing. This is the movie I'm looking forward to next year.

It goes wrong for people like me who loves the comics and as I said I can nerd rage about how Black Widow was a villain not a hero when she was first introduced as well as Hawk or the fact they are missing Wasp and Antman who were pivotal in the Avengers being formed or the fact that shield had nothing to do with the Avengers and in fact TONY STARK was the entire reason Nick Fury ever got into SHIELD. I can go on and on but you're right if the movies are good then we should be able to accept them for their artistic value (provided it's not crap like Wolverine and his indestructible pants in X-3 *dies*)
But here's the issue...when people watch the movies and then act like they know about the comics. You wouldn't walk up to me and start acting like I'm stupid and don't know anything about the story lines of the comics because of what you saw in the movies would you? Now on this site I think most would say no because we're all pretty cool peeps but I've come across ALOT of people who try to act like they no more about the Marvel universe than I do when they've never read a comic in their life or maybe only read one or just one series.
That's the issue. I've already said I think the Avengers movie will be a good movie but it's pure fanfiction - not that fanfiction can't be entertaining and artistic but honestly that's what it is.
I hope that doesn't sound like a rant and I apologize if I come across bitchy - my tone is really very objective as I hear it in my head XDDD but honestly I do not mean to offend you if it's coming out that way

Yeah and apparently one of them is named after you, lol. The other three walls are named Mystique, Lord Wellington and Brunhilda.

In that regard, that's another problem I have with First Class. It contradicts the first X-Men movie (as well as that God forsaken Wolverine movie) because even in the Movieverse it doesn't match up as far as the first X-Men go. So they messed up their own selves there.
But when I go to see comic book movies, I go to see the comics that I love being brought to life. To completely change that (which is what First Class did) really irritates me. It irritates me almost as bad as those God awful Resident Evil movies. XD
