It's the End Of An Era at VBCtv...
In 2012 there will be less than a handful of Scripted (Virtual) Series left at VBCtv. Many people know that VBCtv was the first network to be pure Web Entertainment. All web content including video, scripted, audio & prose. But in the last 2 years, Video content has taken over and in 2011 we decided to no longer pick up many scripted series. For the Fall 2011, no new scripted series were picked up. There is 1 or 2 that may premiere in the Summer brand new. It has now been announced that VBCtv will lose 3 of it's longest running scripted 'virtual' series. 'Lone Wolves' will go into it's 5th and Final Season in the Fall of 2012. 'Guardians' will enter it's 5th & Final Season in the Summer of 2012. 'Mystery Of The...' will go into it's 3rd & Final Season when it premieres. All the episodes are complete but we have yet to schedule the show due to a full schedule. '4-Dimensional' will return with All New Episodes next month. (This is the last scripted series left after all others are gone. No Plans are being made to cancel this series.) (On a side note to answer some questions why the show was canceled and brought back 2 months ago was because I didn't think I'd have enough time to run series & convert site to HTML 5, but decided after thinking it through to go ahead and try)
VBCtv stopped forum support for all virtual series when the site was switched to HTML 5 back in November. All Virtual Series were switched to a 1 page website format. All show runners were in agreement on this decision. HTML 5 conversion was completed on December 23. Ahead of schedule. (I worked my butt off so I can devote my time to 4-Dimensional now until Summer when I upgrade from Joomla 1.5 to 2.5) VBCtv has had a great run with it's virtual series. But the viewership has come from it's video series. Some Virtual Series have kept up in the ratings but VBCtv's viewership has doubled since the focus shifted to Video Series.

Wanted to update everyone about new stuff going on VBCtv. We are adding new shows daily to our extensive Web Entertainment line-up. Here are the shows we offer now sorted by category.... We are the first Web Entertainment Network. We have been very successful. We recently opened our forums to everyone including non-registered people. So far it has brought a few more discussions to the site. VBCtv will be expanding outside of the normal 8-10pm airing slot this Fall. We have already come up with the new idea to replace normal airing schedules. VBCtv still uses a ratings system and has the Weekly T-10 still. PilotSeason is also going on now for our Fall schedule. We have gotten emails about this and we do have a form right on our front page. Also we now have an updated FAQ/Help page and a new Technical Support section. If you are looking for an answer you cannot find, feel free to send us a Tech Support and one of our trained techs will get back to you within 3-4 hours or sooner. VBCtv does not own any of it's intellectual properties. We are a distributor/network of airing shows and online web entertainment content. We only air shows that have given us permission to or are owned by VBC Networks Entertainment. All shows that air on VBCtv have been approved by the owner of the content to be aired on VBCtv. We steal no information and claim no ownership on any of the shows we do not own personally. Do Not re-duplicate or re-air any content seen on VBCtv without the express written consent of the content's owner or VBC Networks Entertainment. Please use the Contact Us section to get a hold of all properties & content owners. We continue to link to all VS networks and approved Production Companies that work with VBCtv. VBCtv is currently set to phase out it's VS by no later than 2015. Lone Wolves has been renewed for 2 more seasons and may go past the 2015 date if needed along with any other current VS on the network. By the word phase out, we mean in the extent of the word, 'No New VS Content' not meaning to affect current VBCtv VS content.

I agree totally. I think the audience has got very lazy. But not so much also. I feel VS does give the greater opening as far as imagination goes and direction, but if you got a good crew & cast Video does the same. With VBCtv for example some of our VS get higher ratings than the Video WebSeries. I'm not one for busting balls. I believe in fair chance. That's what we have cancellations and ratings for. I give everyone a chance and sometimes it turns out good. For example 'Lone Wolves', 'Hawkins & Dover', 'The World Power'. I posted this same topic at MZP and it became the international bash me and VBCtv fest. So thanks for an actual opinion. I definitely give all my support to VPN. This is where I want to see the great VS's at. VBCtv will continue both VS and Video as we are Web Entertainment. We want that brand of all entertainment from the web. I'm okay with Video outdoing VS as far as how many there are. There are more Video out there.

VBCtv's official PilotSeason '11 has begun. The link is on our frontpage. You can submit your Pilot's for a chance to be on the Fall 2011 schedule. Once you submit your pilot you can add episodes or other attachments later. PilotSeason '11 is open to all Web Entertainment including VS, Video WebSeries, Prose and Audio. Remember the more information does better your chances of a pick-up but does not guarantee one.
Also remember to check out VBCtv with new shows arriving daily plus new episodes of your favorites. And be sure to check out our Facebook page and become a fan of VBCtv now...

Over the last year or so I have noticed a lack of VS shows not only on my VBCtv but also at MZP and other networks. So I want to get everyone's opinion on this one. We live in the digital age and we can buy a video camera for around $100-$200. I mean is Video WebSeries the new way? Over the last year, VBCtv made a switch to Web Entertainment which includes VS and Video WebSeries. But our Video WebSeries out-number our VS 3-1. Starting in the Fall 2011 we will only carry 4 or 5 VS series and no new ones because of the lack of demand and lack of pilots. I've even noticed that on MZP that the amount of pitches is going down and are becoming few and far between.
I really would like to get some opinion's on this. The reason we made the change was to be different than MZP and launch a new concept. It worked and we are a well known Video WebSeries network now that also carries VS. Hence Web Entertainment. Can we somehow bring back everyone's interest in VS? I feel this is an important topic and something we all need to show interest in...

A couple of changes I want to get everyone familiar with. As many people know by now, we are affiliating ourselves with some bigger shows now. Video Web-Series. A couple of them are very well known, We actually have shows coming to us now instead of us going out and searching or scouting for shows. As of today (Jan. 12, 2011), we have decided to add a few new features to the site and get rid of a big one. We have now added a new Videos section (promos, ads, commercials, etc...) A new Photos section (Behind The Scenes photos and more) A New Music Section (Music from your favorite episodes of your favorite VBCtv shows.)
What's leaving is the Community as you all know it. The new Community will still have members but it will link you to individual show communities, forums, facebook and twitter.
These changes will occur ASAP and will add to the already redesigned Full Episodes page and new show pages that are still not complete and that wiull include custom show backgrounds and more once complete.

I don't know how many of you have noticed or looked at VBCtv lately, but new shows are arriving on a daily basis. Most of which are now filmed shows. As VBCtv celebrates 5 years, we look to more Original WebSeries than Virtual ones. VBCtv went through a site redesign recently and may be in it's best looking form. We re-launched our Intranet system for emails and other assets. By 2012 the goal is to have majority of filmed series. Currently we just picked up our 6th filmed series. It adds to our 15 non-filmed series. We also are working with KoldCast TV by airing some of their lower rated series to help pick up ratings. VBCtv is Web Entertainment in every way, as we continue to air every kind of WebSeries. Also added to the site is Our Friends, 6 links that we thank for paving the way and continuing the dream. theVPN is one of those.

To be honest, the reason we didn't readd some shows to the network is because of the unrelyability of them. Life Support was one of them that was advertised and never aired an episode. VBCtv is more serious now about the shows we have on our network. We're not going to shut down again, that was due to personal issues in my life. We have a core group that I brought to the new network. If you notice there are several key writers that I considered the top of the line that are no longer at VBCtv due to delays and other things. MZP-TV gave us some good advice about a month ago before we launched and I'm taking it this time...

At noon today, VBCtv re-launched with an overwhelming amount of hits. The server actually went down for an hour from about 232 to 330pm. Alot of the excess viewers are from the new Facebook advertising campaign that started today, plus a few other events that we had going on, including a launch party over on twitter. We hope everyone likes the new VBCtv. Not all pages are complete yet at this time and we will be getting to those by the end of the week. Also not all Classics on Demand full episodes are up yet due to the new database and us not wanting to overload it due to the way it process the episodes when we add them. They will be added in small amounts at a time. vbctv.com
