VBCtv is back as of August 1. The new website is being worked on now and we will relaunch as a new network with some old shows and some new. We feel VBCtv got too big and overrun by shows that weren't in the top quality as they should have been.

So far all 3 of the shows I've ever written have been sitcoms. I'm able to write them and make them work, and it's a very hard genre to write...

As of January 11, 2010... VBCtv will implement content ratings into it's website to help the viewership better know the content of their show. Here is the breakdown of the new Web Entertainment Content Ratings System created by VBC Networks Entertainment... This content is suitable for all VBCtv audiences... This content is siutable for our younger Kids Audience of all ages over 3... This content is suitable for our younger audience ages 7+ due to fantasy violence or a subject matter... This content is suitable for our viewers that are 13+ due to subject matter, violence or sexual innuendos... This content is NOT SUITABLE for anyone under 17 due to the extreme content matter... This content is only suitable for ADULTS due to extreme content matter including but not limited to sex, violence, nudity and/or more... This content is Not Rated and can be suitable for all audineces, but we ask you to view at your own risk and viewer discretion is advised... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We wanted to share this system here as we are good friends with VPN and see how they thought about this new system VBCtv has decided to implement into it's programming...

It would be unbias because we are proposing that each network nominate 1 or 2 shows for each category from their network. The voting will be open to everyone. Meaning anyone can vote. Last year no one voted for their own shows and some surprising shows won in our VBCtv Awards. We even had a show win that we tossed out of the blue into voting. We recorded over 500 votes and the funny thing is we made it to where an IP address could only vote once. The amount of members you have doesn't mean anything, we only have 122 registered members but we get over 500,000 unique hits a month. I did a log on your site and you are averaging somewhere around 2000 unique hits a month. That is how this would be unbias because we get alot more hits than we have members and people would vote for what they feel is best.

Last week the concept was brought to me by one of VBCtv's senior board members to try and ask the other networks to work together to create an awards show (non-bias). VBCtv started a thread in our forums from last years award show for VBCtv about how we could run an Webby show. Over the last few months we got feedback, now we are running a thread about categories. Here is how we proposed to do the Webby's if anyone is interested... I will also be writing the Network Execs from all the sites to ask them for help in this or if they want to be involved. Last year VBCtv found a full proof way to do voting for these awards without cheating using our CMS site. The plan would be to create a CMS based site with the voting software put in just for the Awards. We would purchase a .com for this project. We would ask that all network execs nominate one show from their network for every category. The one show they feel best suits and deserves an award in the category. They can ask the community for help as VBCtv last year asked our community to nominate 1 show each except their own show for each category and we used the top 5 since we did the award show on our own last year... Once we install the poll software, you will be limited to the amount of times you vote and so on. We can set up whatever we want to make sure no one can vote more than once by tracking IP's or so on. We feel there is a great demand for a web wide Award show and the fact that we ran one last year with no problems, means that we could do one on a bigger scale the same way.
We hope that there is interest in this proposal and people would want to help... If anyone has ideas, feel free to add them to the idea...

You'd actually be surprised on how some of our youtube and sims shows do. They get good views. Things & Stuff is probably are highest rated youtube show we carry on the network. I'm hoping that both Amazing Race: Virtual Edition and Virtual Survivor do well for VBCtv from writer Kevin Smithson (candianfan30). We picked them up about a month ago and both will premiere in March. We actually are working with a established web-series (video) to bring it to VBCtv and we are also in talks to bring football back to VBCtv. We had football on the network for a few weeks in August before the league folded, but we are trying to bring it back. VBCtv is in it for all types of Web Entertainment (script, prose, video, audio, virtual, real, reality, sports). We want to establish ourselves as Web Entertainment. I feel it's a way to grow and at the same time expand our audience. VS will always be what we carry most on the network, because it's the most popular form of Web Entertainment. There are also those (MZP) who believe we are wrong for what we are trying to be now. But we always wanted to be unique and different. We want to launch our own brand and become something more than just another website you stumble across. We want to build Web Entertainment into a want to see thing.

A while back VBCtv had a visionary idea to change from VS and establish itself as the first Web Entertainment Network.
Web Entertainment meaning that we allow all sorts of Web Content, not limited to script, prose, audio and video entertainment.
We decided we wanted to make more than just VS. We felt there were so many more types of Web Entertainment than just script. Most of our shows are still script but Entertainment is about telling a story and making people interested in that story.
We wanted to know what VPN's view is, if they continue to be just a VS network or if they are looking to switch to Web Entertainment also which is a bigger, undiscovered market to help make household names.
Web Entertainment is something that can be built upon and made into a big thing on the web if marketed right. (examples: You Tube, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter) All Those examples are something that are unique, no one ever thought would be big and look at them now. HUGE...
Who says we can't make Web Entertainment into the next hit with multiple sites focusing on the same market... This is VBCtv overall goal for the future...
