My review of 'Bitten' 1x03 Once in a Blue Moon.

No surprise that this was another great episode, I can really tell that your getting more comfortable in your writing as the series progresses. Again, I have to commend you on your description, I feel as if I'm actually in Crescent Bay when I read your episodes, it's really easy to picture.

Right onto the episode itself... Once in a Blue Moon wasn't as action packed as the previous episodes but that doesn't mean it wasn't as interesting. I like that you took this episode to dive more into your characters and their personality. One thing I have been really wanting to see is Sara's personality come across and although I think you still have a bit of work there to do, I could finally see it come through in this episode with her interactions with Will.

The relationship between Will and Sara is definitely growing on me, and I like the fact that you've made them realise they need to 'slow it down' as in the first episode I thought they were moving just a little too fast. But now we are beginning to see their relationship blossom, with the two going on their first date and all. I still however don't find their relationship as compelling as Gwen and Jeremy's . Damn, they two have got real chemistry. Lol.

Speaking of Jeremy, he has overtook Milo to becoming my favourite character. I'm really enjoying his backstory with his father and grandfather, as well as the newly found romance with Gwen. He seems to be the most interesting character, for me anyway, and I enjoy reading about him. It was nice to see Gwen as the damsel in distress in this episode, it really contrasted to her in early episode, usually being the savour. And now that Jeremy knows about her secret I really have no idea how this will affect their relationship.

Milo's character seems to be outcasted from the other characters in recent episodes, which I'm not sure I'm enjoying if I say so myself. I do enjoy his storyline but I just wish it somehow involved the other main characters rather than him being lonesome. But we're only on episode three so I guess anything could happen to change this. I did like the scene with him and Griffon in the forest, I chuckled with Griffon when Milo could get his Pyro powers to work.

Not completely alone, we have Griffon who accompanies him in this episode. I'm not entirely sure how i feel about this character. I feel he could be quite fun and quirky but after that 'phone call' revealing he has some sort of secret (which I think may be related to Abigail's) I'm not sure that's what we're gonna get from him.

Speaking of Abigail, I REALLY want to know more about her. Lol. She has interested me since the beginning with her fun outgoing attitude, so I'm really excited to see what she brings to the table as I don't think we've seen enough of her.

I'm quite surprised that everyone is finding out about the werewolves earlier on, like Milo, The Sheriff and even Jeremy. It's leaving me really intrigued as to what you have up your sleeve for the rest of season one, so much has happened already!

Overall I think this episode was really great and let the audience find out a little more about the characters personalities. With the Hunter storyline bringing suspense and introducing new mythology with the Prophets Moon. This episode had everything I was looking for in a third episode, so kudos. I am absolutely in love with this show, you have a major fan in me.

And of course, the cliffhanger, how could I forget! I was left at the end of this episode with my jaw dropped to the floor. Haha. You and your cliffhangers, great ending!

Having a Bitten marathon tonight. I've just finished reading 1x04, 'A Tale of Two Brothers'. So here's my review,

I have to say, I really enjoyed this episodes. It was possibly one of my favourites (after 1x02 of course) and I think there is one explanation for this, Gabriel! Gabriel, has now become my favourite character in the show so far. Haha. I don't know for how long as I seem to change my mind every episode. Lol. His bad boy attitude and the way it contrast's his brother Will's personality makes for great scene and interesting dialogue. I actually really enjoyed the scenes between him and Jeremy, when he offers him the cereal, it just seemed really natural for him to do, and pretty funny.

So, the beginning of this episode began where we left off at the end of 1x03, with a supposed Louise Hale standing at the front door of the Hale residence. We then discover that it is not Louise stall but her twin sister, Vivien. To be honest, I am really happy that it wasn't Louise at the door, I just think that would be too much. I mean you already have so much going on in the show already, I don't think I could handle a dead mother comes back to Crescent Bay storyline. I enjoyed Vivien's character, and her mentoring Milo will make for some great story lines so I am looking forward to seeing more from her, as well as finding out her secrets, she's bound to have a few, I mean they all do.

The Vampires in Bitten are soooooo BADASS! They seem very scary and I know you say they are taking a back seat this season I really hope to see a bit more of them in the future. They were much darker than I expected, very 'underworld'.

As the episodes progress I can see Sara stepping up the plate more as a main character. She was really great in this episode, showing her heroic side, it's much more refreshing than the needy, damsel in distress characters you see on tv shows now of days.

I have to say finding out that Abigail is more of a top dog than I thought was pretty surprising. I'm not sure what I think of it to be honest. I think I'll need to find out a bit more before I make up my mind up because I'm not sure if I'm liking that route for that character.

The whole story arc for this episode was great. Finding out that Gabriel was in trouble with the vampires and running to his brother and sister for help really to then find out that he was working with the vamps the whole time. I mean I know you like twists Darrin but this was totally not expected. But it has to Boone of your greatest twists yet. I know Gabriel said his goodbyes to Will but I hope he goes back to Crescent Bay sometime soon, I just love the whole dynamic of Him, Gwen and Will.

The only thing about this episode that I feel may have let it down was the fight scene at the end. As M.J. Has already pointed out, it kind of felt all over the place, especially with Elizabella turning up with her Visceras. The writing of the fight scene between Will, Gwen and the Vampire felt almost comedic and kind of slapstick at some points but with the fights against the Visceras it's seemed more natural and was improved.

Overall I loved this episode, and after writing this review I actually feel like it may be my favourite episode so far (even better than 1x02 lol). I am going to try and read all of 1x05 but I'm not completely sure if I'll finish it before tonight so You may not see a review until tomorrow. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Yeah, my friend Jen refers to this episode as a "character building" episode Lol. Now that I know that Sara's personality is lacking in these first run of episodes I'm definitely trying to push it more in the other episodes.

HAHA! Yeah, Gwen and Jeremy's going to have a lot of ups and downs, but I like them together, so I'm really rooting for them, but I can't make guarantees past this first season Lol.

Jeremy's my favorite character at the moment too. In the next few episodes, I'm currently writing, he really steps up in a big way and I am really excited for what's ahead for our dear Jeremy. I think Gwen needed to be the damsel in distress, it was only a matter of time before trouble would find her since she's been looking for it. It was really hard shooting Gwen. Lol. I think Jeremy's the type of person who doesn't pass judgments. I mean I know he felt pissed at the instant he found out Gwen was this wolf in his living room because Albert was attacked by a wolf, Gwen was at the hospital when Albert died. The mind wanders. But Jeremy now knows the truth and realizes the person Gwen really is. I think that only strengthens their bound.

Milo being outcasted is needed. Next episode he becomes one of the group but this whole self-discovery is his journey. Not too mention from what he's seen in his dreams, and in his waking life, werewolves cannot be trusted. That's not to say he won't help them for Sara's sake. I love Griffon and Milo. I think Milo more than anything needed a friend, who wasn't family and didn't look at him differently, and Griffon was that guy.

Abigail's a complex individual. She's living this double life where she enjoys being a woman and having fun with her friends, but then she has this secret life.

HAHA! Gabriel was a really fun character to write. He's got this attitude and clearly hates the "rules" associated with being a Royal. Yeah, Will and Gabriel see their 'curse' differently. Gabriel is a lot like Gwen in he embraces it, where Will fights against it. The difference being that Gwen would never stoop to the levels that Gabriel clearly does... But I'm getting ahead of myself. Lol.

Everyone has secrets Lol. However, Vivien's been in Crescent Bay for some time, but it's only now that she's made herself known. She's got lots of things up her sleeve, and it's all building to something 'huge'.

The Vampires in Bitten are soooooo BADASS! They seem very scary and I know you say they are taking a back seat this season I really hope to see a bit more of them in the future. They were much darker than I expected, very 'underworld'.

Oh yeah, we'll be seeing more vamps this season, just not in an every episode sort of way. Lol. I'm glad they came off darker, I wanted Vamps to be seen as monsters in every since of the word.

As the episodes progress I can see Sara stepping up the plate more as a main character. She was really great in this episode, showing her heroic side, it's much more refreshing than the needy, damsel in distress characters you see on tv shows now of days.

Sara loves this world. Even when she claims she doesn't, trust me she does. The dangerous situations make her feel alive and I think has things progress we'll see more of her throwing herself into harms way.

I have to say finding out that Abigail is more of a top dog than I thought was pretty surprising. I'm not sure what I think of it to be honest. I think I'll need to find out a bit more before I make up my mind up because I'm not sure if I'm liking that route for that character.

Abigail's rise in the Juggernauts happened after her 16th birthday. She became part of the Juggernauts, and soon enough, ran the division. She explains more of this in episode 1.06 and 1.07.

Gabriel has ever intention of returning to Crescent Bay. But he's buying his time until the King resurfaces. I mean he can't very well walk into the kingdom and kill his father. Besides the King has very powerful friends, and very powerful protections preventing harm from coming to him. Gabriel, and his rebels, have Embryce's ring now, but it's going to take a little bit more than that to kill a King.

The only thing about this episode that I feel may have let it down was the fight scene at the end. As M.J. Yeah, the vampire fight scene was to show how weak modern werewolves are against vampires and maybe I took the comedic value of that a little too far Lol. As for Elizabella and the Visceras, we found out, at the end of the episode, that Gabriel had orchestrated the entire thing. He got to keep face with his siblings, he was able to get them out of the way so he could find a ring they already had, and everything unfolded so that the ring was taken from them in a way that wouldn't look like Gabriel was up to something. That's the idea I was going for when I wrote that sequence.

Overall I loved this episode, and after writing this review I actually feel like it may be my favourite episode so far (even better than 1x02 lol). I am going to try and read all of 1x05 but I'm not completely sure if I'll finish it before tonight so You may not see a review until tomorrow. I can't wait to see what happens next.
