I have recently begun watching 'True Blood', and I find it intriguing how they have depicted vampires in modern society. They are discriminated against just like people in the real world today. And it got me thinking how our society is just as bad, if not worse, when it comes to discrimination. Homosexuals are the most common, in my opinion, to be discriminated against in modern society. Race is also a major one as well, along with gender. I feel like the person you are attracted to, shouldn't define who you, as a person, are. . I have a homosexual, male and female friend. I do not see them as people who are different, but I see them an equal. As a human being. I mean, if we were all the same, it'd get pretty boring, right? I think it's cool that we're all different. It makes us who were are, ya know? So, whether you're gay, straight or in-between, it's cool. It doesn't matter. Just be you. Feel free to comment down below with anything relating to the subject. And if this has offended anyone, I am sorry, but these are my views, and I apologize if you don't agree.

This is a discussion that can go on for decades and still be relevant to society. As much as I would like to believe that one day, equality will be something on everyone's minds, and not only that, but put into serious action, there may always be people in this world that do not believe in it.
I share the same beliefs as you, and while I wish more people shared these views, it's just not the case. I don't know when ''fights for acceptance,'' when it comes to race, sexual orientation, gender, etc... will come to a much needed end; or if it ever will come to end; but I do hope for that day.
I know this is a tricky subject to get engaged in, and I don't usually share my views of such large topics, but in this day and age, I think it's insane that we are struggling as much as we are.

Love everyone is my motto. I don't mean romantic love I mean treat with kindness and respect. It doesn't matter if our beliefs differ we should still be respectful to each other.

I 100% agree with you right there, Jason. And I really hate saying that that's true. But, I hope one day that I am proved wrong.

As a homosexual female, the issue of equality is one that hits really close to home. I, obviously, share the same views as you, Brady. We're all human beings, the only differences are that we're a different sexual orientation, race, gender, religion, etc. I don't think fights for acceptance will ever end, because the whole "history repeats itself" has proven time and time again, especially in this case, to be true. We, as a society, don't seem to learn from previous mistakes.
I think as long as hate is taught as a "value" from families, we're always going to have this issue. A lot of these intolerant people are raised by people who are just like them and taught them that it's okay to treat others badly because of their differences. I have people in my family that are like that, and who treat me badly because of an ASSUMPTION (I'm not yet out to my entire family, just a select few for this very reason). Until this cycle of intolerance stops, and it might never, we'll always have these issues. I like to hold on to the hope, however, that one day, we WILL be able to live amongst each other without all these ridiculous hostilities.
