I just started binging watching Never Have I Ever for some reason a few days ago. I'm on season two now. i don't know what it is with me and these teen dramas but I can't get enough of them. Maybe because my teenage years were so boring and uneventful. This show is PHENOMENAL! I just finished season two this past weekend. One of my faves on Netflix for sure!

Just wanted to pop in with a not too late HAPPY PRIDE! It's technically not Atlanta's Pride (where I live) until October, but I've definitely been celebrating with what I can this past month. It's taken a very long journey of self discovery, but I'm incredibly proud of who I am and I love seeing how everyone celebrates every year. I'm currently watching the Miley Cyrus Pride special concert on Peacock and LOVING IT! I just love watching all queer things. Please let me know if anyone needs recs Feel free to share if you're celebrating Pride this year and how! Or just wish a Happy Pride, whatever you wanna do We've still got 5 days left!!

Gonna go ahead and list 5 shows I've been loving recently: - Hacks (HBO Max) - "A dark mentorship forms between Deborah Vance, a legendary Las Vegas comic, and an entitled, outcast 25-year-old comedy writer." Truly one of the funniest shows I've seen in a good bit. Jean Smart is an absolute queen, and this show is manically good, and the chemistry between the two leads is superb. The season has completed and it's been renewed for a second one!
- Lupin (Netflix) - "A retelling of the classic French story about Arsène Lupin, the world-famous gentleman thief and master of disguise." One of the most exciting shows I've ever seen. The energy and pacing is absolutely out of this world, and there are so many cool twists, turns, plot points that I couldn't stop watching either parts. The 2nd part of the season was just released on Netflix.
- Special (Netflix) - "A young gay man with cerebral palsy branches out from his insular existence in hopes of finally going after the life he wants." Suuuuuuuch a wonderful, wholesome, funny, and touching show on Netflix. It's second and final season was released a few weeks back. And it also has one of the most well-written mother/son relationships I've ever seen in television.
- Pose (FX) - "In the New York of the late 80s and early 90s, this is a story of ball culture and the gay and trans community, the raging AIDS crisis and capitalism." I have never been so attached to fictional characters in my life! Every single character is so fully realized with so many layers and complexities, and the found family they all share is absolutely stunning. The series finale just aired a couple of weeks ago, and I sobbed like a baby. Give MJ Rodriguez an Emmy nom ASAP!
- Girls5EVA (Peacock) - "A one-hit-wonder band from the '90s gets a second shot at fame when a young rapper samples their song." Another really delightful gem of a comedy. The entire cast is so funny and the songs they sing are actually super catchy. This just has a short one season for right now, so I'm hoping for me!
Anybody checked any of these shows out? If you haven't, I absolutely recommend all of them!

I've streamed a lot of films this year. I liked some, hated many. I saw Wonder Woman 1984, I have strong feelings about it. I saw The Craft Legacy, which I hated. I did like The Hunt. Hated Fantasy Island, which is sad because I had high hopes for that one. And apparently a bunch of films I can't remember, so clearly they didn't leave a lasting impression. Lol. I have tried to sit down and watch The Conjuring spin-offs (is that what I call them?) but after sitting through The Nun, ugh, and then parts of Annabelle, I can't seem to get myself to watch any of the others. It's sad too because I love the first two Conjuring films. The first 2 Conjuring films were so good!! It made me so mad how bad Annabelle was haha. I'm gonna watch Annabelle Creation tonight, which I have heard is much better than the first Annabelle *fingers crossed*

Finished Resident Evil Village a number of weeks ago and reaaaaaally enjoyed it! Resident Evil is one of my favorite franchises, so I was very satisfied with how that game turned on.
I'm currently making my way through the Mass Effect games. I played ME1 several years ago but never continued, so I thought the Legendary Edition boxset was a perfect time to finish them off!

What movies has everyone been loving or hating throughout the past year or so? Streaming or in-theaters if your area has started to allow that again! My state has allowed for movie theaters to allow larger capacities now, so I've seen In the Heights and A Quiet Place 2 in theaters, and really enjoyed them both! One of my favorite streaming movies recently have been The Mitchell's vs the Machines! Currently, I'm making my way through all of the movies set in the Conjuring Universe. I've seen The Conjuring, Annabelle, and The Conjuring 2! Annabelle did not do it for me... at all, but I enjoyed the other two!

Brady Brown I know it's been a minute to say the least, but I plan on reading/reviewing the last three episodes of TST that I have yet to read soon. I really missed this show and I'm just hoping it doesn't end on a cliffhanger haha! Do you ever plan on releasing more episodes in the future? Yes! I'm slowly but surely writing the final 2 episodes of the season

I went with a concept of the Angels being a little older Constance Wu, Regina King, and Eva Longoria

REVIEW: "Town of Darkness"
I want to start off this review by saying that I truly enjoyed a lot of the ideas and plots that were presented in this pilot! I think they all have a ton of potential to expand into a unique and captivating supernatural storyline. Beacon Hallows presents us with a ton of information in its pilot, which I think is both its strongest and weakest components. Overall, I think "Town of Darkness" has some really fun elements that, I think, with some fine tuning, can really be a lovely supernatural drama.
Let's get into the characters. Our main character, Shannon, is a really headstrong and determined lead. I really enjoy the fact that she's a werewolf and that seems to tie a lot into her personality and characteristics. I'm very interested to learn more about her and her story, as well as how her relationship with her sister develops. Something I'll get into a little later is that I wish there was a stronger focus on her in this pilot.
Another character I really liked was Emily. She's a great side character with a lot of heart. I was a little surprised that her identity as a witch was revealed so quickly and how big of an aspect that had in the pilot. I think the witch aspect took a lot away from the main plot of the episode, and I do think most of it could have been saved for future episodes. This episode was long, almost 80 pages, and I really think there needs to be a lot of slimming down. There are a ton of different plot points and exposition that didn't add to what the pilot was about, so I think going through and editing out a lot of additional scenes to save for later would be really beneficial.
Something else that seemed off was the pacing. There were some inconsistencies and a lot of things felt pretty forced. The main thing that comes to mind is Shannon, Emily, and Matt all becoming this trio that just blurts their entire supernatural lives out to one another in a couple of minutes. It just seemed really weird, especially from Matt's perspective, that he would just go along with everything Emily and Shannon asked; what felt as equally as weird was Shannon and Emily outing themselves as a wolf and witch to someone they just met. I think there could have been some more development of their friendship so it felt more authentic.
Overall, I did enjoy this pilot! Like I said above, there were a lot of fun elements, but I also think there's some things that can be improved upon with some more edits. I think re-examining some of the pacing, dialogue, and the length would be incredibly beneficial. Something I like to tell myself is to let the audience try and figure some things out without it being spelled out to them, because it's 100% more interesting that way. But yeah, nice first start, and it left me wanting to know what was going to happen next, which is exactly what a pilot is supposed to do!
