You really really don't want to read my review of this, Brady.

Finally got the chance to see this movie. Although it was far from perfect, I enjoyed it. Definitely the best Superman movie I've seen, although the only one I have seen is Superman Returns and well... yeah. Lots of great action. Too much? Yes and no. Do I think they sacrificed some character development for a lot of action? Kind of. But it was cool to look at it, nevertheless. Just a few points:
- General Zod was good, but was DEFINITELY overshadowed by Faora, I think. I kind of wanted her to be the main villain, to be honest.
- Amy Adams is a great actress and she did her job well with what she had to work with, but I do not see Lois Lane when I look at her. It's probably because I watch Erica Durance in that role for seven years, and I really loved her portrayal of the character. I think she may have been miscast. That, or the direction for her character may have been a little off. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed her character in the film... but I didn't feel Lois Lane. Maybe I will with a sequel. Nothing against Adams, she's a great actress.
- Henry Cavill IS Superman. Perfect casting there. I loved Clark's story in this film. They really showed him as a human being. A real man, with real conflict and complexity. I really loved how they portrayed him.
- I think what this movie lacked was a compelling story. I might be wrong. I'll have to rewatch the movie, but it felt like the story was only half-there. Maybe it's just me.
- Am I disappointed by the dark tone/lack of humor? Absolutely not. The most complaints I've seen about this movie are about it being too dark or not funny enough, and that outlook really confuses me. I don't know why people expected this to be funny. The way it was marketed suggested nothing of the sort. But I won't get into that.
Overall, I enjoyed the movie. It was a great origins story, and I'm looking forward to a sequel. I want to see Lex Luthor. If I'm being a total fan, I'd rate this a 4/5 stars, because I was entertained throughout the movie. If I was gonna be a critic, I'd rate it a 3.5 out of 5.

Just rewatched this today and enjoyed it even more the second time around. Really can't wait to see how they pull off the sequel, and where they'll go from there.
Anybody else seen this that hasn't already posted their thoughts in here?
