Snyder didn't write it, so that's a positive. Plus Christopher Nolan is involved so it may be incredible.

Well...I for one am excited for this movie . The last Superman movies sucked donkey balls. Henry Cavill is a well deserved actor and SEXY as hell. So he is the perfect Clark Kent. And also this is the movie that will start towards the Giant Justice League movie that will be coming out Which I will be ready for

Neither is Christian Bale. They've got to reboot the franchise, completely, or just pick new actors to play these characters, but I really hope it works out. I've been waiting for a JLA movie for a long time! If Marvel fans can get The Avengers, we should be able to get a Justice League movie! *grr* But back to this movie, I didn't know it was mostly shot in Illinois, with Chicago as a back drop! Yay.

I think what they need is people who are passionate fans of the franchise and that will make the movies better. That is kinda what is working for Marvel.

^ True. Had they given Joss Whedon a chance to make that Wonder Woman movie, years ago, perhaps things would be a bit different now. Though... there's a big chance that they would not be so, I won't stay on that subject.

Yeah, I mean Marvel finally let Joss do stuff and he is a big fan, Jon Favreau is a huge comic fan and he put lots of work into Iron Man, not to mention the actors are fans. Kenneth Brannaugh and all those people they just put lots of love and hard work to make the past movies good products. I am sure there are more, but that is all I can think of now.
DC really needs that kind of stuff.

I'm not looking forward to this film that much. There are a few things that I read about it that I thought was awesome - for one, Laurence Fishbourne is playing Perry White, and the tone is much darker than any other Superman film (which, I tend to think that superhero films work a lot better when they're done in a much darker fashion). But, I'm not sure if I'm keen on there being no Lex Luthor, or the actress they cast for Lois Lane (because come on, the PERFECT Lois Lane would be Rachel McAdams, but I'm not going to go there...) But, yeah. I don't usually get excited over things until I read more about it, or see a trailer. Smallville ruined Superman for me, I think - I prefer their version of the story so much better. Its probably a reason I didn't enjoy Superman Returns as much (Lois wasn't a fierce, kickass woman, and Lex was just a caricature). But yeah, I don't think it will be a horrible film, it just hasn't been on my "things to get amped for" radar - again, probably because a trailer isn't out yet.

I love Joss Whedon, but that Wonder Woman idea he had sounded worse than the latest TV project they tried to do with the character. But hey, if Joss Whedon was asked to write/direct the Justice League film, I'd have no complaints (even though I didn't think the Avengers was perfect, but I digress).

They released the description of the trailer, so I'll put it in a spoiler tag in case some of you want to wait and see it yourselves. Snyder showed the new trailer, which debuts with next week's release of The Dark Knight Rises. The trailer has a sort of Batman Begins vibe to it, a heightened sense of reality that allows the fantastical elements to really stand out.
The trailer began with an almost Tree of Life-style series of shots: grass, an overturned toy wagon, a farmhouse. We see Clark with a bag over his shoulder walking towards the wilderness (it had a First Blood feel to it). There's dialogue from Cavill's Clark Kent, Russell Crowe's Jor-El, and Kevin Costner's Pa Kent that recall the fear of human beings to what they don't understand. We see how the world would really react to a superhuman alien revealing himself to the world. There's a quick series of shots of Jor-El, Amy Adams' Lois Lane kissing Superman, and Michael Shannon's General Zod (not that Snyder would confirm that).
The stirring music was particularly effective in selling the solemnity and majesty of the piece. We see young Clark playing in his backyard with a red towel around his neck as a cape and later saving classmates in a school bus accident. We also see him finding the Kryptonian space ship in his parents' barn. We see Clark "meeting" Jor-El in the Fortress of Solitude, and even a glimpse of The Daily Planet as Clark gets into an elevator and puts on his glasses. And, obviously, some cool aerial stuff of Superman in battle, soaring through the sky and walking across the clouds like, well, Jesus across water. There's a very Alex Ross feel to the whole thing. The trailer ends with Clark saying something along the lines of "My father always said people would reject me if they found out who I really was. We find out now if they will."

He has no underwear, because they're making the suit the way it is shown in the New 52. I think it's pretty close. And I really don't mind the suit. I do prefer the original, but this one doesn't bother me. And I'm really excited they're debuting the teaser trailer for this in the previews before 'The Dark Knight Rises'. For me, it's like a 2-for-1 deal! XD

I personally like the New 52 suit more than the original. It looks less...ridiculous, I guess? I mean, the underwear outside of the suit is so...well, yeah. XD
