Episode #3-01: "Lazarus" Written by: Jack Malone Produced by: The VPN
UPDATED 10/6/2013 - Eliza Dushku has returned to the set to film extra scenes for the season premiere. Producers told VSGuide that certain script adjustments called for some extra screentime for Selina Kyle, which will definitely please the fans of that character, as well the fans of her relationship with Bruce. "They share a pure, genuine moment together that I think I is the most real we've ever seen these characters before." How their paths cross, we can't say. While some speculate we may see Selina escape from Hush as early as her first episode, we can't help but question how that would work, with her main arc taking place in the back half of the season. - There will be a lot of chemistry between Talia and Bruce in their very first encounter together. There may even be some- dare I say it? - kissing! - Helena and Alfred finally meet.
UPDATED 20/5/2013 - Vicki is currently in a relationship when the series returns. The character in question has appeared in a small handful of episodes last season, and was expected to play a more recurring role in the season to develop a relationship by season's end. However, as we know, plans changed. "We're not too sure if the fans will remember him, but they had quite a lot of playful banter last season," Malone tells us. Apparently a lot of their scenes were removed due to time restraints, and while they couldn't tell the workplace romance story like they wanted to, "this time jump allows for a more interesting dynamic between the two." - One main/recurring character is arrested during the episode, while another main/recurring character escapes a possible arrest. - The wall of weird makes a surprise return. - Stana Katic will appear in the episode after all, as Talia Al Ghul. - A main character dies in this episode, and it will surprise everyone. Producers told VSGuide earlier that their presence in the opening credits was purely to misdirect the fans. - Another death is expected to occur in the episode, but will not serve as their last episode as the time jump allows the writers to go back and forth, and explore an entire year's worth of story with the character, who is described to be, "incredibly important to the story."
UPDATED 12/3/2013 - Producers have revealed that Erica Durance's guest spot as Lois Lane has sadly been reduced in order for the story to flow better, and not drag on. "Not much has changed from our original plans," series creator, Jack Malone, shares with VSGuide, "however, we did want to have Lois and Bruce cross paths, which sadly, will not happen in this episode." Erica Durance is expected to share at least one scene with Allison Mack's "Chloe Sullivan", Michael Caine's "Alfred Pennyworth," and Michael McKean's "Perry White." She is still very much considered, "a very important aspect of the premiere." - A main cast member will come into contact with Hush, which has a deadly result.
UPDATED 13/1/2013 - Its been confirmed that Erica Durance and Allison Mack share at least one scene together, in the form of a flashback. The scene shows part of their last encounter together, on the day Chloe faked her death, and disappeared to Gotham City. - There's a reason why Lois hasn't been to Gotham Daily/Gazette prior to this, and why she had no knowledge that Chloe was alive, and printing articles at Gotham Gazette that will be revealed during the episode. It involves the city itself. - During the shooting of this episode, Hush was spotted on set, which suggests he does make an appearance in the season opener after all. Yet to be confirmed by producers. - Special Guest Star Eliza Dushku shares all her scenes with Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne throughout the episode.
UPDATED 16/12/2012 - The VPN has released an official description for the premiere:
SEASON PREMIERE. ONE YEAR LATER - When Bruce's(Christian Bale) attempt to bring Chloe(Allison Mack) back from the dead fails, he turns to much darker source for help: enter Ra's Al Ghul (guest star TBA). Desperate to prevent their paths colliding, Zatanna (guest star Serinda Swan) confronts Helena (Kayla Ewell) with hopes to form an alliance and makes her an offer she can't refuse. Meanwhile, as Commissioner Gordon (Dylan Walsh) hits a breakthrough in the quest to find Selina (special guest star Eliza Dushku), Vicki (Yvonne Strahovski) becomes consumed in uncovering the identity of the Batman. Michael McKean also stars.
- Speculation that Ra's Al Ghul will appear in this episode can be confirmed as fact. Producers are looking to cast the iconic character's role, and says, "he plays a huge role in Bruce's journey, and in the attempt to resurrect Chloe." - Sources tell us the character that bites the dust in the opening minutes of the premiere is a fan-favourite, and that, “the time jump allows us to revisit their story over the course of the season.” People will be upset when they find out who is biting the dust.
UPDATED 16/11/2012 -Michael Caine guest stars in the first of many episodes throughout the season, reprising the role of 'Alfred Pennyworth.' He is said to steer Bruce in the right direction in his quest to bring Chloe back from the dead. "We get to look at more of Bruce's past, specifically, Alfred's role in that mythology when Martha and Thomas Wayne were killed," series creator, Jack Malone, revealed, "We learn a lot more about Alfred as he introduces a huge element of the episode to us, and Bruce, in the first act." - Joining the list of guest stars for the episode, Nicki Minaj is said to reprise her role of 'Harley Quinn' for the episode, and is tied to Helena's story. But wait, isn't she dead too? - Erica Durance has confirmed that Lois Lane will share scenes with Bruce Wayne, Perry White, and Zatanna. However, as of now, "I can't tell you whether or not I got to shoot with Allison [Mack]." - In a recent interview with VSGuide, Kayla Ewell shared concerns about the reception of her character in the premiere: "I'm really excited about it, but its going to be interesting to see how the fans react to some of the choices she makes when the series returns." Producers confirm that the character will be, "a lot darker, and extremely tortured." They continued in saying that Helena could be perceived as a threat, as she ventures down dangerous territory, and that, "her world was shaken up in the finale, and you'll get to see the struggle in trying to balance that world back out."
UPDATED 15/11/2012 - Julian McMahon has booked a minor role for the season premiere, and tells VSGuide that he returns to: "close that chapter of Helena's life, and hopefully give her that push to move on." At the moment, McMahon has said that it is new footage between Guido and Helena, but he is available to shoot flashback scenes, if necessary. "It won't be an hallucination, or anything we've seen before on the show- its something very new for the show." On whether or not he would be back again after this episode, McMahon said, "I think this will definitely be his swan song- the final episode for Guido."
UPDATED 7/11/2012 - The episode begins with a death, and a resurrection. - The episode takes place a year from "Anarchy".
UPDATED 1/11/2012 - Episode title posted. - Despite the possible reference to the Lazarus Pit, Stana Katic's Talia Al Ghul does not appear in this episode, and an appearance by Ra's Al Ghul has not been confirmed yet.
UPDATED 27/10/2012 - Bruce struggles with the idea that if Chloe had known his true identity, she could have been able to prevent her death. Throughout the episode, Bruce must decide whether to reveal himself as "Batman" to the public, or keep it a secret. He finds an answer by the end of the episode. - Vicki Vale grows suspicious of Bruce when she struggles to understand how the billionaire contributed to Watchtower's mission of cleaning up the city, and suspects Gotham's white knight and dark knight are one in the same.
UPDATED 24/10/2012 - Producers can confirm that this will be one of the few episodes to feature Selina Kyle in the season. It could just be the video message she gave Alfred to give to Bruce in the season finale. It could be more. - A time jump is involved between the previous episode, and this one. - Serinda Swan guest stars as 'Zatanna'. - This episode introduces someone from Batman's extensive rogue gallery who has not been mentioned or announced yet. They play a major role in the episode. - Alona Tal guest stars as 'Holly Robinson.'

Episode #3-02: "Echo" Written by: Jack Malone Produced by: The VPN
UPDATED 20/7/2013 - Gordon is blackmailed by another character from the main cast who has knowledge of his interactions with The Dark Knight. In threatening the safety of his career, and freedom, they force Gordon to do something that jeopardizes someone's life and could play a role in the big death of the episode. - It would appear the reason why Chloe and Kyle's history together will take a while to become known to the audience is because neither of them remember it. Allison Mack told us, "Chloe recognises something about him that for a split second makes her think she's met him before but for the life of her can't remember how or why," and as for Kyle, "he doesn't even acknowledge this history between them, but will, along with her and the audience, become aware of it." It has been said that their history is revealed in the mid-season finale, "Sacrifice". Another clue series star Allison Mack gave us was that, "it ties into another [series regular] character on the show." What?! - On set pictures revealed Holly Robinson shares an intense scene with Gordon. Outside parties watching the scene being shot said it appeared as though she had escaped wherever she was being held at the end of last season, and conveniently stumbled upon Gordon in the streets, in the process of fleeing. VSGuide asked producers about this, and Holly's role in the season, in which they teased, "she is the only one to escape Hush, and live to tell the tale which means she's a pivotal figure this season in moving the plot forward, and helping our characters understand the threat which is facing them this year." Perhaps she and Bruce can eventually join forces (and meet) in the search for Selina? At the suggestion, producers smiled, and said, "you definitely have to stay tuned." - This episode effectively closes up some of the loose ends the "one year time jump" creates, as we learn more about Gordon's coma, Helena's work as the Huntress within that year, Gotham's current improved condition, and more!
UPDATED 4/7/2013 - This episode is said to serve as a "part two" to the season premiere. Whether they will air separately or together is yet to be determined. Some mysteries and unanswered questions from the premiere are explored and answered in this episode. Producers told VSGuide, "both episodes effectively setup the season." - Chloe is sporting a new look this episode, with black hair, and glasses. Looks like she'll be taking a note from Clark Kent, as producers tell us, "Chloe is trying not to be selfish in her return from death, determined to keep it a secret from those she cares about." This episode deals with ghosts of her past, as she weighs up life as a reporter, as Watchtower, as a mother, against all the tragedy she's brought into people's lives. By the end of this episode, she will have decided what path to embark on. - The episode features a sub-story with Helena and Perry which involves a growing crime mob in Gotham City, referred to as "The Deadly Sins" (as there are seven members). This marks one of the few times their storylines have joined them together. - Chloe stumbles across Kyle at the League of Shadows base, where she discovers they've both been kidnapped as "instruments" against Ra's Al Ghul. However, when a mole is found within, Kyle is utilized sooner rather than later. - Gordon plays a large role in this episode, as he reopens the missing persons case on a quest to uncover Hush's agenda, and save the missing people of Gotham. - Alona Tal guest stars in this episode as "Holly Robinson." The character, who was kidnapped in the Season Two finale, is said to play a huge role in the quest to find Selina Kyle this season. The fan-favourite is confirmed to appear in both "Lazarus", and "Echo", and, understandably will appear throughout Eliza Dushku's returning arc. - Bruce and Vicki's friendship suffers a massive blow. - Two main characters share a kiss. - Despite recent speculation, Talia Al Ghul does appear in this episode as well. - Another character dies in this episode.
UPDATED 12/3/2013 - The VPN has released an official description for the episode: WELCOME TO THE LEAGUE OF SHADOWS - When a series of vivid dreams lead Chloe (Allison Mack) on an investigation, she crosses paths with the league of shadows, and is kidnapped. Reunited with old friend, Kyle Williams (Bryan Greenberg), the two plan an escape. However, when their attempt to break free fails, Kyle is forced to rely on a unique ability that comes at a price. Bruce (Christian Bale) breaks his alliance with Vicki (Yvonne Strahovski) in order to protect her in the hunt to find the missing citizens of Gotham, and turns to Commissioner Gordon (Dylan Walsh) instead. Offended, Vicki tackles her own lead, coming face to face with Hush. Meanwhile, when stumbling upon Helena's (Kayla Ewell) hit list, Lisa (guest star Lizzy Caplan) finds a name that worries her. Michael McKean also stars. - The League of Shadows portrayed in the episode are said to be, "a rogue alliance of members who broke free from Ra's tyranny, training to fight against him." Ra's Al Ghul is expected to make an appearance in this episode. - Vicki Vale is the "poor soul" to cross Hush, and expected to have a tragic result. - Perry is expected to make a departure at the end of this episode. More news about the character, and Michael McKean's involvement in the third season, can be expected to be released sooner rather than later. [/font]
UPDATED 27/11/2012 - This episode has another character from the main cast coming face to face with Hush. Producers narrow it down to Helena Bertinelli, Bruce Wayne, or Vicki Vale. "The result is tragic," Malone reveals, teasing another deadly encounter with the season's big bad, "Its going to have a lasting effect on the poor soul who crossed him."
UPDATED 1/11/2012 - Episode title posted. - This episode heavily focuses on Bryan Greenberg's character, 'Kyle Williams', who joins the main cast as a series regular. He is an original character, with a unique ability and a deadly past that drags him and another character (from the main cast) into danger. - Perry reveals some shocking news that puts his plans for the future on standby.
UPDATED 24/10/2012 - This episode introduces series regular, Bryan Greenberg's character, who has a past with Chloe Sullivan. Could he surface to mourn her death?

Desperate to save his daughter, Gordon succumbs to Two-Face's demands, as Batman's approach to dealing with the mad-man clash with The Huntress' (Kayla Ewell)- to kill or imprison? Meanwhile, in an attempt to solve the mystery behind Chloe's strange dreams, Zatanna (guest star Serinda Swan) performs a spell that awakens a great evil. - A conflict arises between Batman and The Huntress, when they fail to see eye to eye on dealing with Two-Face. Episode #3-04: "Bound" Written by: Jack Malone Produced by: The VPN
UPDATED 6/12/2013 - While Talia taking possession of Chloe's body suggests the real Chloe Sullivan has died, producers reassure us that she's still alive in there somewhere and that there will be an explanation for that in the opening minutes of the episode. "We begin [episode 4] with the confrontation between Chloe and Talia that was not seen in [episode 3]. It helps answer some of those questions left at the end of our last episode," series creator Jack Malone told VSGuide. -Helena and Lisa's relationship will be explored as how they first met comes to light. "This episode for Helena and Lisa is about adding Lisa's name to the list because of her actions," recurring guest star Lizzy Caplan revealed, "Lisa spends the episode trying to use her actions and her relationship with Helena as a way to stop her from continuing this crusade as Huntress, and not necessarily avoid putting her name on the list, but discontinuing the list altogether." Whatever the outcome, Caplan assures us that this episode will provide the much needed back story for the Helena/Lisa relationship as they approach this decision together. - Producers have revealed that Chloe will feel the weight of Oliver's absence and the effects of being torn from her child's life in this episode. Also, these distractions in Chloe's life were keeping her from facing the harsh truth that she may not in fact want a second chance at life. Series star Allison Mack tells us, "the missing pieces of Chloe's emotional constipation and neglect to reflect on what has happened prior to being resurrected from the dead start to come together, and these next few episodes really deal with the fallout of really tapping into those emotions, and allowing herself to experience them tenfold." - Everyone learns of Chloe's return from the dead in this episode, as Talia forces Bruce to gather everyone at Watchtower HQ. - Perry's condition comes to light when the "binding" spell is broken because of his decaying state. - Serinda Swan is back as "Zatanna". She will wipe the memories of someone else; the question is who and why.
