This was just amazing. This is the first time I ever read a story like this. I really enjoyed it. It was like I was actually seeing an episode. Thank you for sharing this with us. I can't wait to see the next episode. I LOVE that Chloe/Oliver is implied through the episode. I love those two. That is what brought me into reading it. Thank you once again. THANK YOU for reading it! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and there's a whole lot more Chloe/Oliver (Chlollie) stuff coming; especially in the second episode, so I hope you check out the episode when it airs next week! Haha, thanks again

Like I mention in my comment in the episode post this is the first time I have ever read something like this. I really love it. I am really intrigue in how this will turn out. Chloe is my favorite character of this show and seeing this make me happy. Can't wait to see more and see Chloe shine. Wow thanks. I had to move your comment into this thread (the episodes thread is just for episodes to be listed) and so yeah, I loved what you had to say. Chloe is my favourite character in all of television -- and I hope I do that character justice in this spin off. And I hope you enjoy the rest of the season!

You don't like Helena? Oh, you will in the next few episodes. She's a really dark character -- to write this show I had to really lessen the backstory of tragedy as much as possible. In the comics she was raped, violated, a lot of bad stuff and I felt that it was too much and too dark. And that if I wrote a character like that it may not be as realistic as the others; seeing as I'm not sure I can understand how a rape victim would feel and write for that character; let alone push them into becoming a hero when they've been raped. So its all tragic. She's one of my favourite characters. The Chloe/Helena scenes are always so fun. Plus: Helena is a Chlollier! I didn't say I don't like Helena. I think she comes off as a bitch in this episode but I do understands where she comes from considering what happened to her. She lived something dramatic and that's why I think she and Bruce are very much alike especially in their needs of revenge. I'll wait to see more of her backstory and to learn more about her before judging her for good. Who wouldn't want to be a Chlollier? They're so adorable even when they're not together. I get the feeling that someting very dramatic happened between Chloe and Oliver that left scars on them. Am I right?

Well the problem is I really can't say much about the three months because Smallville is in its last season, and so this will clearly take place after season 10 -- but what I wanted to get across when writing this (whilst leaving it open for your own speculation) is that Chloe and Oliver have drifted apart. Chloe left to escape the DDS, with Oliver's help, and they haven't seen each other since he shows up in Gotham City at her apartment.

Well honestly, that was something that I'm really not going to address which means they're not together anymore. As much as I think fans may have liked that (really?!?) I didn't see the two together and they paired the two up after I'd written the pilot and the two other episodes, so there's not much I can do about that. So yeah, they're not together. As for the Red Queen, "Prototype" doesn't mention it and its the major Checkmate episode of the season.

Hi :) This is my first time posting but I've been lurking around for quite a while waiting for the first episode of 'Watchtower' to come out. Now that it has all I can say is: Amazing!
Actually, that's a lie. I have lots to say XD Firstly, I'm happy to say that overall the episode was fantastic. I was reading it on the bus back from Uni and was hooked from start to finish. I like that we were thrown right into the middle of things and fed bits and pieces of the characters backstories as the episode went along. It's a technique I really like (and often use in my own writing) and though it was used very well in the episode.
The relationships between each of the characters were portrayed very well. I particularly enjoyed the scene between Huntress and Chloe at the Gotham Daily, I think it was one of the best parts of the episode. I really got a feel for where both Chloe and Helena are coming from and the kind of people they are in that particular scene, the action was an added bonus.
A lot of people seem to be a bit iffy on the character Huntress so far and I think I'm going to have to hold out on my opinion of her also. There were some parts where I really enjoyed the character (mentioned above) but other times where I just didn't like her at all. I don't know, maybe I'll warm up to her as we see more of Huntress/Helena. She has the potential to be a great character and I'm sure that comes through a bit more in the upcoming episodes.
There were only a couple of things that bothered me a little. One was that the story seemed to move a little too fast. I know it was the premier episode and there is a lot to be explained in it but I think a little more fleshing out of some scenes would have been great. I felt like the episode was skipping around a lot, trying to fit a lot of info in to just one episode. Also (not that this has anything to do with actual story) there were a couple of typos and other miscellaneous errors that were a little distracting and took away from the overall aesthetics of the script. Maybe a proofreader to help pick out those little things before the episode is released? (I'm happy to volunteer, I rather enjoy proofreading work that isn't my own :D)
Those few things were easy to overlook though, thanks to the total awesomeness of 'Watchtower's' first episode. I loved it and can't wait for episode two. Keep up the fantastic work :)

I loved it and can't wait for episode two. Keep up the fantastic work :) Thank you for lurking around long enough for this to air! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Helena is a character that will warm up to you, her dark side sort of fades into the background of things in the next episode, in which she adds a bit of humor. I think Mia/Helena adds a comedic relief to the action and drama of the show; as the two (when they're teaming up) make for a lot of funny one-liners! Ugh, sorry for the mistakes -- I would get a proof reader but from the time the episode gets written to when it airs, there's not enough time. Maybe next season :D Thanks again for reviewing, I'm glad you liked it! And there was a lot going on, and with the first two episodes, its like a two part premiere (to me anyway) that does a lot of explaining and may go too fast for a few, but it does a lot for the first half of the season, and with a 13 episode season, I'm really trying to do as much as I can and run the season as best as possible. And so I hope its not something too problematic in the long run! :D

Hey, everyone! Way back in page 1 or 2, we were talking about AM's unknown future on the show. I don't know if anyone has seen this yet but, as I've been dying to know about AM's future on the show (especially since the finale!), I've been hunting for answers. And I found them! Thought I'd share!
AM to Entertainment Weekly: "It's amazing to think that Chloe Sullivan and I have been one in the same for over a third of my life. I'm truly humbled by the love and loyalty of all the fans whose enthusiasm has carried me - along with a cast and crew which has become my second family - over the past 9 and a half years. Out of respect for the amazingly loyal fans and the place I will always have in my own heart for Chloe, I'm coming back for several episodes next season to tie up Chloe's Smallville legacy properly. It's been a life-changing ride, and I look forward to what lies ahead with the strength of a ‘superhero' as my foundation."

I see that no one is really taking to Helena yet. I have to say I like her already and can see where she's coming from and feel for her. I'm someone who doesn't take to OC characters very easily (or often) so I think you did a fantastic job. Now that you've explained that everything in SV cannon has happened, I'm even more interested in Chlollie.

It's not that we don't like her..she just came off as a bitch in the premiere but like I said I can forgive her knowing what she has been through. I'm in a wait and see mode as far as Helena's concerned.

Great episode. Overall, one of the best pilot episodes I've ever read. It being a series about Chloe Sullivan, just made it that better. So, here's my review:
Every scene (in my opinion) from start to finish, had meaning. The flow of the episode went extremely well. Very nice, smooth pace that kept me excited from the beginning to end. You tend to pull people into the story with your scripts, and that's exactly what you did for me here. I actually liked Helena/Huntress. She's playing the tough bitch role and we all know how those tend to turn out. I think over time, when her character is given more of a chance to develop, we'll begin to at least care for her character. Can't wait to see her, as well as the other characters' progression in the episodes to come. BTW, Chloe/Bruce for the win. I'll prepare to get jumped. LOL - I am a Chlollie fan, a HUGE one! But, If they don't work out I'd like to see them have some type of story.
You're characterization was ON THE SPOT Jack. You studied you're characters very closely to make sure you KNEW them and it really made the script easier to visualize. Very believable and VERY professional. There were a few problems with Spelling/Grammar but hey, we're all human. It didn't detract to much from my reading experience at all.
Great, great premiere episode. This is definitely, just the beginning to an OUTSTANDING series.

I have never watched an episode of Smallville and don't know anything about these characters but I thoroughly enjoyed the script. It was very well written and I could just picture everything happening.
Like Chris said before, you have a keen eye for characterizations. Even though I don't know her from canon, I thought the character Chloe was very interesting and relate-able. Her and this Oliver character have a certain chemistry I find very intriguing. I want to see more.
I also enjoyed your portrayal of Bruce Wayne. I love the complexity you've added to him, making him not a pure good/bad guy.
Overall, this is a fantastic start to the series. Some minor errors here and there but nothing that really took away from the script. Very excited to see what you produce for next week.
