Haha, thanks Karl. I think Chloe being more proactive and getting out in the field instead of just standing behind a computer gives her more edge, and more of a 3D Dimensional look, some development. Instead of just solving the problem, she goes through more active stages which I think is great for Chloe's character. Oliver see's Bruce as himself, in a way. He see's Bruce and realizes he needs help - much like Oliver did when he was on a vengeful path, and he had Clark and others to help him through that. So he wants to save Bruce. Awesome! I'm glad that three episodes in you're starting to have a favourite character that isn't Chloe. Means I'm doing something right haha. Yeah, Mia, like I said before, is more of a supporting character. She's there to help, and develop slower than the other characters. Although she doesn't have a huge presence in the first half, I like to think she has a rather plot-heavy second half, and for the things planned I'm hoping you'll all enjoy it. Thanks! I'm not sure Perry's cracking onto her secret, but yeah, he's really starting to get sick of being the one in trouble all the time. I think he'll become tougher and grow stronger from this attempts at his life haha. Thanks Karl. I really wanted to put Chloe through the ringer, and make her judge her first impressions and mission. Now that he's saved her, she's thinking he's worth saving, but how that goes down with her and Emil, we'll have to see next episode. Now onto the questions: I'm not sure how to answer this question, but to make this fit in the same universe, the show takes three months after Smallville's conclusion. So if things don't line up, I may do a few webisodes or something to fill in the gaps -- but I don't think there's anything else that has happened to make her uncomfortable; I haven't been writing her as uncomfortable at this point, so yeah... haha, I really don't know how to answer this one. He's a big part of Chloe's life, and is a huge part of her past. To not bring him up would be rather dismissive of that -- and I think referencing the show's origin series is always fun. And where references can come up without being forced are even more great! There's no foreshadowing of Clark coming onto Watchtower. She simply had nothing to add to this episode. She got things started, and got things moving, but she had no place after that. Its funny because I want to say "no" but next week he gets himself in some trouble haha. But yeah, he's not always the damsel in distress, so to speak, and as the season progresses he'll definately become more than just the "Editor in Chief" and we'll actually see him become more intuned with the season's plot. Especiall after the events of the mid season finale. Will have to wait and see... Chloe's still settling into the city. She's trying to get her life right, and revealing Watchtower might just bring on another breakdown of responsibilities. But I'll definately be exploring this question throughout the next few episodes, and I'm hoping you'll enjoy it too! Thanks Karl!

My thoughts on Deadshot... I give it a 8. It was a really good episode, filled with actions, romance and humor. I was a little disappointed that we didn't get a scene between Chloe and Oliver once he woke up and that's probably why I don't give it a 9. Something was missing.
Perry NAILED it in this episode and his scenes where probably what I love the most. It was so good to see him again and for him to fight back and not let the resistance blackmail him. This is the real Perry. Back in the game. The man can fight and him working with Mia to undercover Checkmate and the Suicide Squad made the episode for me.
Chloe was fabulous. Her speech to Oliver actually made me cry. They are totally soulmates and hearing her say that she never loved someone as much as Oliver was gold. Now all she has to do is telling him that face to face especially now that he's awake. Them mentioning Clark and Lana was great.
Helena was so funny in this episode and I just adore her relationship with Chloe. Their banters are so funny. She cares about Chloe a lot and that was shown prefectly in this episode. I love how stubborn Chloe is, guess some things never change. She was ready to fight the man who shot the love of her life no matter what and no one could come in her way.
Emil is Emil, a total lost cause. Killing the Hintman? Bad move. Just makes him go deeper into the darkness. My favorite line has to be Chloe telling "You wanted a war Emil, great...cause you just started one". She's fierce and ready to fight back. That's the Chloe I love. The war is coming and I can't wait to see it.
The Hintman story was pretty sad and I actually loved the character. I felt for him because you could see that he wanted nothing more but to be with his family. He didn't want to kill anymore and wanted a peaceful life. Of course Emil didn't see it that way.
I wish we would have more of Oliver but since he was shot and all...
While I love Helena, next week episode seems to be a lot about her and that's not really my cup of tea. Plus Black Canary is making an appearance and we all know how much I can't stand her character. I'd love a catfight between she and Chloe though.LOL I also want to see Bruce back because I realized that he brings something mysterious and intense about the show.

Thanks. As much of a Chlollie episode this was, it was more shown through Chloe's eyes and her point of view on their relationship and how she feels -- so sorry about Oliver, but it wasn't his time to shine this week lol Haha, I liked writing Perry's story. He's finally getting that "I'm sick of being knocked on my ass" vibe -- and we got to see him investigate a story rather than collect from Chloe and other reporters. I'm glad you liked him and Mia this week as well! Haha, I was hoping to pull some emotional strings, sorry to make you cry though haha. I really think Chloe and Oliver make a strong pair, and exploring that in the first season is really fun. Thanks! I'm glad you're warming up to Helena. I think you'll enjoy her story for the next two episodes -- but she'll be a touch darker from the events. Like I said, there was a lot of setup for a huge letdown for Chloe. She has trusted those who don't deserve her trust, and she always gets burnt -- Emil being one of many. The war really is coming, and I can't wait to explore bits of the big battle in this mid season finale. This was a DC Comic Character I had to change around a bit. I read several arcs for him in the comics had him as some big assassin, being unstoppable -- but what I really wanted was a tragic villain, someone with a soul. And having read that he had an arc in the comics of wanting to be there for his family, and gave up his assassin lifestyle, I knew that would work perfectly. It really was sad -- and could the Deadshot identity live on through his daughter? Or will she learn from his mistakes? This was something I wanted to leave open. Although a nice scene at the end between Oliver and Chloe would have been great for the fans, I think it would outweigh the impact of Chloe's POV on their relationship, and what she said. A lot has been edited and changed around. Although Helena has some moments, having reread the script I think Chloe still has the more scenes and more relevance. The Birds of Prey form, and its another big moment in Chloe's life. Plus its a huge build up to the mid finale. Black Canary is not a huge fan of Chlollie haha. A lot of fun stuff though. A lot is said about the Justice League, this organization they're up against, a lot going on. I hope you'll see past the dislike of her character and get into the Birds of Prey aspect haha. He's definately back -- and shares a rather important scene with Chloe. Even though its not a "penultimate" episode, its the episode before a big mid-finale with a lot of character moments, so I hope you still tune in. But Bruce will definately be back! Thanks for the review!

I am giving this episode an eight and a quarter (if there is such a thing as an eight in a quarter if not I give it an 8.5)
Ollie got shot. Intensefor the episode and it also gave Chloe something to fight for. I love the speech. It made me cry. Then again I am always emotional. Anyways I love Helena's attitude. It's all all very bitchy and stuff. I also like how she was protective of chloe when she tried to go after deadshot.
Deadshot as a retired hotman with a consience. That was a twist but when Emil killed him. I Swear I cannot wait to see him die. Hahaha
what I didn't like was the whole scenes with Perry and Mia. I mean congrats for the actors who play these characters so well, but the whole situation didn't fit in with the real plot. However I like that they mentioned Checkmate.
I cannot wait for the episode which features Black Canary and the whole Birds of Prey scenario. And also can't wait for the mid finale!!!!!

wow i give it a 8..only because Ollie was shot, and because he didn't have a final scene with Chloe.. I loved how in the first scene speaking with Chloe he said that "...following him in green tights" it reminds me the episodes "checkmate" in Smallville ...nice one! really fun! i really love Oliver, he is my favorite ;D i also love Helena, and i like her relationship with Chloe...she is so protective! I really hope that now Chloe will open her eyes on Emil....he is a bad guy..and i was really sorry for Zoe when he killed her father! You get better every episode....i really enjoy this show

ok deadshot was real good i'm giving it an 8.8 it was very cool to see chloe dressing up in tights.lol. it was a good episode i'm excited for next week now:P i really enjoy that perry white is entangled with some power struggle himself. it's only amatter of time before he gets in on Watchtower. although if there was something that i didn't like it would have to be tht the ending could've been better. but what i definetly did like was Emil getting his ass kicked.

Thanks! Oliver getting shot really got to show you his relationship with Chloe through her eyes. And that was something I wanted to explore in the first half of the season. With Helena, I think like many characters and people in real life, she has a tough side -- and with the tragedy in her life she'll always have this, how you put it, "bitchy" side to her. But her hearts in the right place; something that really shows in her friendship with Chloe. So I'm glad you liked her this week! Hahaha. Well Emil is the villain of the story - and Chloe's game plan of 'he's worth saving' has now been flipped on its head, and things really pick up in the last two episodes of this first half. Things will get really interesting between them. And Emil's "new experiment" that Chloe picked up on in this episode is about to be revealed. I knew some people wouldn't like this, but with all episodes there's a B-Plot. Sometimes they relate to the A-Plot, sometimes they're completely separate. At the moment, Perry has been in every episode and I really want him in every episode to show the side of Chloe's life that is her journalistic side. Although that didn't have anything to do with Chloe this episode, he still carries that part of the story each appearance -- being in charge of Gotham Daily. This week, he and Mia met and tackled a story together. It tied up some loose ends on Checkmate and this Suicide Squad, that I thought was good seeing as they appeared in the second episode; and I really wanted to see that get some further closure. They may have seemed useless for this episode, but like I said, it was the B-Plot, usually its a plot that half of the people like and the other half hate; but it was still needed. Hahaha thanks!! Several changes have been made to next week's episode. Its a little more fun, although really dark (I know, I sound stupid saying that). And the spotlight has been removed from Helena's character, focussing more on Chloe, Bruce and the Black Canary. There'll be several references to the Justice League and stuff, so it should be a good read.

Thanks!! Haha. You got so many big Chlollie moments this week, I can't believe you wanted another at the end haha *shakes head*. All seriousness, like I've said before, I didn't want to put him back in the picture after that huge Chloe moment where she confessed how she truly felt. It would have out-weighed its impact, IMO. Thanks. I'm really happy people are warming up to Helena, and her friendship with Chloe - at the start of the season people didn't know what exactly to make of her yet. I'm glad her character is starting to clear up for the fans, and become more liked. Yeah, Chloe has definately shifted her view on Emil. Things get pretty ugly from here on in. A lot of stuff happens with Emil in the second half -- as things begin to calm. Even though the big climactic battle is bound to happen in the season finale crossover event, the mid season finale really stirs things up and gives Chloe a run for her money. So a lot is about to happen in these last two episodes of the first half. Thank you so much!! Digging my teeth in the Birds of Prey, the Black Canary, and the Bruce/Chloe stuff thats happening next week, I'm sort of entering a lot of new territory -- so I'm not sure how its all going to be taken in. But I'm hoping it'll still be a favoured ep like the others. Its very much the calm before the storm. The mid season finale is intense all the way through. And I'm really excited to get it out and aired for everyone to read

Haha, well Chloe didn't exactly where Green Arrow's costume as much as his armor, but I'm glad you liked the story of it. Perry is getting certain clues, especially being saved 24/7 by superheroes, but whether or not he pinpoints anything at Chloe, its not certain yet. Perry has a lot of story this second half, and you'll see a lot of it begin to blossum towrds Chloe's second life as a hero. Can I ask what exactly it ws about the ending you didn't like? Was it that you were craving another Chloe/Oliver confrontation, didn't like it ending on such a big death, or something else? And yeah, I agree -- it was about time Chloe laid into Emil. We saw her lay into him in a flashback (from the premiere) but now things are much more intense, and Chloe was really reeling from the pain of trusting him and having faith in him. And instead of crying about it, and walking off, she actually stood her ground and let it out on Emil. Thanks for reviewing!!
