NEWS POSTED JANUARY 31, 2010Here's comes an exclusive story from VPN executives in regards to Megan Lizford & Nicole Rodrigrez's "Thoughts Without Thinking" series and Jack Malone's "Story of a Girl"
It's official! Network executives have just picked up drama/comedy series, "Thoughts Without Thinking" (Co-Created by: Megan Lizford & Nicole Rodriguez) for our 2010 line-up!
This new drama follows the story of two female screenwriters wanting to make it big in the network in which they are working. It follows the lives of Nicole and Megan who have quite a history, from being literally inseparable in high school but their fun was over when there were both going to different colleges. Trying to keep their friendship but sadly failed, the two lost contact for quite a few years but recently reunited a few months ago.
Now the two are getting to know each other once again, remaining the good friendship. With the help of Nicole, Megan secured a writers spot on of the highest rated shows which bring Megan closer to her dream of producing and writing her own series.
These two girls will deal with the amounts of onset drama, incessant problems, romance, work and lots and lots of comedy.
In other news, production for VPN's "Story of a Girl" has been discontinued. Creator Jack Malone has decided to stop production of the series in order to focus more on his other shows and above all, his education. Thoughts Without Thinking will be taking the place of Story of a Girl, which would air Thursdays at 8/7 central. Stay tuned for more information regarding VPN's latest drama series |

NEWS UPDATED JANUARY 31 2010.Series producers of Faith the Vampire Slayer has released some spoiler-y goodness, followed by contractual agreements, not to mention some news about who you could see next season. Dear VPN,
Faith the Vampire Slayer has recieved an official return date of March 23rd, returning on its new Tuesday Night. The first two episodes back will be scripted (teleplayed) by Nathan A. Johnson, whose previous work has recieved high reviews, and I hope you welcome him into the forum as you have I. Sam Witwer has contracted for a special guest recurring role in a three episode arc (Playing Hero, Truth, and Vessel), playing the somewhat, mid season bad guy that you'll all love to hate. Speaking of contracts, Elisabeth Rohm (Kate Lockley from Angel) has officially signed a deal with the producers, to return in Faith's third season playing Kate, in a series regular role. Joining her is another alumni of Angel, that we hope would surprise you. As the season finale drawers closer, more information on the third season will be revealed, like who will be returning, and who won't. I can reveal that two fan-favourite characters will be leaving the show, one way or another, before the Season Finale, take that anyway you please, and no spoilers on who they are will be revealed. I will say that its not Anthony, as many responses have been questions about him, and his survival on the show. I am scheduled to write 9 more episodes of this season, whereas Nathan will be writing 5 more. He has been a blast to work with, so trustworthy, and you'll definately be seeing him back for season three as an Executive Producer. Onto spoilers, hmm, what can I reveal? The Council's storyline is no where near finished. Harold may be gone, but damn, this second half of the season shows that there's a lot more going on. The downfall of each character has not happened yet, though, some were in dark places at the start of the season, its only going to get worse. Last spoiler...are you guys ready? The future will come a little closer to home. |

NEWS POSTED FEBRUARY 3, 2010. To expand on the VPtoday, network executives personally asked me to open up a question and answer thread, weekly, answering those fans who are dying to know about whats to come with their favourite shows. Check out what I found! Spoilers Below: Question: Oh my god! Joss Whedon always kills off the most favoured characters, don't tell me thats what the producers on Faith the Vampire Slayer are doing!? Scoop! Scoop! - JarrodTrish: Don't fret, Faith fan! Sources confirm that the death count has been cut down to just one. At least thats what creator Jack Malone told us! "Oh no, its really just one major character death this season," he began, confirming the two deaths as a misunderstanding, "But the other thought-to-be-death is a lot more shocking than biting the dust. Question: This season of Faith the Vampire Slayer is even better than the first! I'm more of a Mark/Faith shipper than a Robin/Faith shipper. Anything good coming up with them? - JuliaTrish: Unfortunately, no. At least not any coming up soon. However, the second episode in, returning March 23rd, is centered on Mark being brought into this supernatural world, and might just figure out Faith's deep dark secret... Question: I'm starting to miss the wacky humour in Faith. Any good, funny scenes, or episodes in the future for us fans who enjoyed that sorta thing in season one? - PaulTrish: Ahhh! Great question! With the season taking a dark turn, the producers have confirmed that they too enjoy the one or two episodes that sort of bring the funny on home. "Sisters, Faith and Jennifer, get in quite a funny situation themselves in the next few episodes," the producers confirmed, "Lets just say they aren't themselves..." Question: In. Desperate. Need. Of. Buffy. Scoop! - SharnaTrish: The producers are still wrapping up their official outline of the season to hand into the Network Executives. From what I heard, we'll be seeing a lot of familiar faces this season, alike Elizabeth Anne Allen, who plays Amy Madison, Robin Sachs, who plays the marvellous Ethan Rayne, and, just confirmed a few minutes ago -- the mysterious Whistler shows up once again! Question: We saw the pre-screening a while back, and I was wondering. Its clearly obvious that James and Buffy will become somewhat of an item. How far will their relationship be taken this season, and the overal series, if possible. They're very cute together! - SarahTrish: As they say on Dollhouse, nothing is what it appears to be. James' main plot this season isn't to be a significant other, in fact, his storyline stretches well into the ninth season. His sub plot is to form a nice, normal relationship with the slayer, but as for how long it will last, its not revealed. Question: Being a complete Bander (Buffy/Xander) fan, can we expect any big moments, possible romance-y scenes, between those two this season? - AlexanderTrish: Sorry, straight of the bat, I'd have to say no. Of course, you may get the touch-y feel-y friendship stuff, with the occassional flirt and jokes, but Xander will be very much in love with Anya, and even if that's not going so well, he wouldn't turn to Buffy to start up another relationship. Question: Fabulous Cordy is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Scoop us! - SamTrish: Anyone a huge Brad Pitt fan? Anyone at all? Question: Has a release date for Angel's return been announced? I really want to see how they wrap up his story, and how the rest of the season plays out! - HankTrish: Sources confirm that Angel is on a little longer break than expected. "Faith the Vampire Slayer is my main priority right now," Jack Malone revealed, "Angel's been a huge part of me, and I'd never let it go! Once Faith's second season comes to a close, Angel will return for its final episodes!" Hope that doesn't let you fans down too much! At least this new rumor might cheer you up -- looks like Spike and Illyria are being fitted into a mini series. Exciting? Question: What happened to Connor? I really enjoyed the latest episode it released! Any possibility the network will pick it up for a second season? - ThomasTrish: You're in luck, matey! The Network confirms possibilities of the show continuing. "The season has three more episodes to play out, that will be judged accordingly," they revealed, "If all things go as planned, the show could survive on the network. We have officially come out and cancelled the show, yes, but we are looking for what the producers have to offer us in the final three episodes to consider a possible return. There's always room for a movie..." Question: Any spoilers on the series finale of Connor? - HayleyTrish: Unfortunately, its beeing kept pretty tight. But we believe an old villain will return to play out as Connor's ultimate arch nemesis; the show still has to deal with the Eve characters, so its all going to be amazing! Everybody tune in to shoot the ratings through the roof! Question: I was really looking forward to that Story of a Girl series. Any news on that? - LilyTrish: Sources confirm that the producers are considering on releasing a film, but with the creator taking a bit of work off his back to get on with school, and concentrate on that, its not looking good for the drama series. "The characters, and stories, were very close to me. But I had to draw the line, and make a sacrifice for my educational purposes," he revealed, "If there's a chance to bring them back, I will!" Question: Thoughts Without Thinking looks great! How many episodes in the new dramedy? - JoTrish: If I'm correct, the network has purchased 15-17 episodes to start off the show. It may extend, but as of now, its got to impress the network with those first 15-17 bought! But damn, doesn't look like it'll fail, does it! I'm definately checking this one out! Question: I need a gifted scoop! Like immediately! Been dying to watch the new take for like EVER! - HarryTrish: Reports of Sam Witwer signing onto the series has been confirmed as true! He'll be playing Hybrid. However, this information is for a role in the second season, which, by the way, sounds totally awesome!! Question: I heard about the Trinity/Watchtower film. Has an official description been released yet? - JakeTrish: THE WORLD FACES TOTAL ANNIHILATION - When the Legion approach Chloe (Allison Mack) at Watchtower, she finds herself waking up in the not too distant future where the world is overrun by Dr. Emil Hamiltons (Alessandro Juliani) superior race of metahumans, known as Raiders. Coming across long time friend, Lana Lang (Kristin Kruek), she is informed of the epic battle, and how the country came into Amanda Wallers (Pam Grier) control. As the war rages near, Chloe soon uncovers the identity of Darkwatch to be Oliver Queen (Justin Hartley); and when the two cross paths, only one will leave alive. After discovering what she has to do to prevent this future from happening, she returns to the past and joins forces with Lanas gang back in Odyssey to take down Amanda and stop Emil from ever creating his superior race. But not everyone will survive to see how it ends? Christian Bale, Paul Wesley, Kayla Ewell, Michael McKean, Anna Paquin, Jamie Bamber, and Sam Jones III also star. Question: Will Lana, from Trinity, be getting a new love interest, that doesn't fly around in tights, and call themselves the Blur? - RichieTrish: Ooh. Nothing solid has come up from my research, and investigating, but I do believe Sam Jones III is reprising his role as Pete Ross, Lana's future husband. So maybe something between those two will happen. Then again, Lois has been on smallville for 6 years before finally getting with Clark! Question: Are the rumors true? Are we getting a lot of Chlollie in Watchtower? - JennaTrish: Damn straight! Allison Mack herself confirms that Chloe's main guy in her life is the Emerald Archer. "Its really fun to be stretching out the Smallville franchise with a character who doesn't even originate from the mythology of the comics," she began, excited about the show, "And to be returning with Justin makes it so much easier! I can't wait to show you the connection these two share. Its so overwhelming. Personally I've always been a Chlollie shipper." Question: I'm a huge Lois fan. Is there any chance she will show up in either show, Trinity, or Watchtower. - EricTrish: Producers are currently stretching to get Erica Durance onto Chloe Sullivan's spin off series for a possible story arc in the second season. However, they confirm that it will be a maximum of five episodes, and will be there to provide those Smallville fans a little info on what could be happening back in Metropolis, with Clark, and co. "They're both cousins, so I don't see why not" he said, "I think it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to bring her on the show; but I think if we did we'd have to oblige by the Network's rules, as it is asking a lot from them to bring in a character from the comics, tied into Superman, and not Batman, or the Green Arrow. So, yeah, hopefully its possible." That's it for this week! Hope to see you fans back for my questions on your favourite shows. Next weeks will be centered around Brian Melanson's "The Path Not Taken", "Thoughts without Thinking" and "X-Men: Legends"! So come check it out!!

NEWS POSTED FEBRUARY 7, 2010. Scoop: 'Watchtower' is Officially Online! Its Official! That tagline never gets old... No, but seriously, not only has the first episode finished filming, but I managed to finally sit down with television goddess herself, Allison Mack! Here's what was to be said, spoilers below: VPtoday: Nine years as a sidekick, and now your character, Chloe Sullivan, finally gets to step out into the spotlight and show us what we've been waiting for, for so many years! How does it feel to extend the character into a whole new line of mythos?
Allison Mack: [laughs] Well its been so fun being a pivotal part to the upbringing of Superman, and being on Smallville for so long has been a great experience. I was actually set to leave that year, to go off and explore new roots of acting, and kick starting my own network with my best friend Kristin [Kreuk]. But when the producers came to me and said that a new aspiring network, the VPN, wanted to continue Chloe's story, branching her out into a whole new world, mentioned in the series run, I was excited to see what they wanted to do! I think its been amazing that Chloe has lasted so long, and its really because of the fan base that she's become somewhat of a heroic icon in television.
VPtoday: She's a very hard character to hate.
Allison Mack: [laughs] Well ... she's not everyone's cup of tea.
VPtoday: So the first episode is finally finished. What can you tell us about the series premiere?
Allison Mack: I love the first episode. We've recieved the next two scripts, but the first episode will always be close to my heart. It really jumps straight into things from the get-go, explaining most of the backstory in very important flashbacks. Chloe is in a tough place at the start, sort of shielding herself off from the rest of the world; trying to be as anti-social as possible. But she soon drops that wall, and learns to get back to the mission she planned in the beginning, before moving to Gotham.
VPtoday: How would you explain the Bruce/Chloe relationship, at its earliest stage in the season? A lot of fans, during the run of Smallville, have created many, many, many fanfics about the two forming a romantic attraction. Any of that happening this season?
Allison Mack: I don't think Chloe and Bruce ... [laughs] ... I don't know, actually. I mean, you'll definately see something, non romantic, in the series premiere, that sets up a good overal arc for the season, but Chloe's more infactuated with the man in the green tights. [laughs].
VPtoday: Ooh. So the Chlollie relationship is still going strong then, huh?
Allison Mack: That's where the writers seem to be taking them. They've spent three months apart from each other, and they're connection instantly reforms, their flame rekindled so to speak. I really love the couple! I think its got more creative flair than the Chlark pairing, as they're both in the same sort of place, both know when to put the fate of the world before everything else. And you'll get to see them slowly coming back together as the season progresses.
VPtoday: Rumors have circulated that the premiere will be very promising to those comic fans out there. With a lot of DC Characters turning up to thicken the plot. That true?
Allison Mack: Oh, of course! Gotham being a much darker, demonic like atmosphere, we really show how gruesome it really is. I think the Huntress is one of the darkest characters of the bunch, with her backstory explained. She's a very complex character, that will be thoroughly explored deeper and deeper. We have Black Mask coming into the show, the Roman Maffia, Falcone crime family, sort of the same there, but those comic fans won't be disappointed!
VPtoday: What makes this show so compelling is that the lead character, the hero, isn't a superpowered being, or dresses up to fight crime. She's human. And her ability to find the truth behind anything is what makes the character so amazing. Any big inner conflict stories popping up with Chloe, that prove to be challenging for her emotionally?
Allison Mack: Yeah, I think thats what draws me into the character so much. She's strong, independant, and more importantly human. Her curiosity does usually get her into some trouble, but she really is just seeking the truth, behind everything. This series will deal with a lot of "what it means to be a hero" stuff, and with her not being super-power-inclined, she really struggles in protecting the city. And Chloe has definately picked up a good few fighting moves along the way, throughout her time in Smallville/Metropolis, but she always seems to get hurt more so than her enemy. Its kind of ... well ... she sort of hates the fact that she's spending so much time on trying to save Gotham, that she ends up being the one who has to be saved. So she's got a hero complex there, which, again, will be explored.
VPtoday: Where would you like to see Chloe in the next five years? Would you be around that long to portray her if the opportunity still exists?
Allison Mack: Hmm... I think its too late now to pull out, after playing the character for so long, right? [laughs] Chloe is like a role model. I love playing her. I am always constantly thinking 'what would Chloe do in this situation'. I think her attributes, personality, everything, has moulded me into the woman I am today, and hey, if Watchtower reaches five seasons, or more, I guess I wouldn't turn it down. On the question of where I'd like to see Chloe in five years ... [thinks] ... Happy. I'd really like to see Chloe move out of her darker attitude, and sort of evolve back into the person I know she can be. Right now, Chloe is sort of in that place, but her dark side sometimes unleashes. I'd like to see her, five years from now, have control over her emotions, and be the kind-hearted woman I know she can be.
VPtoday: Final question, I know you've got a busy schedule! Perry White is on the show ... how long is he set to stick around, and how does he view Chloe. Will he learn of Watchtower?
Allison Mack: Ahhh! Thats a mouthful! [laughs] Yes! Michael McKean is a series regular on the show, playing a brilliant interpretation of Perry White. He is so amazing! I love him so much! As for his longevity on the show, I'm not sure. Originally he was signed on for a six episode contract, and would remain in the second half of the season, sort of pushing him towards his mythos. But at the moment, I think he's on for the full season, and could possibly return. Oh man, you'll have to see the series premiere to really grasp his view on Chloe. Its a really touching moment they share. I love shooting scenes with Michael! [laughs] But I don't think he'll learn about Watchtower. That'd be like Perry learning Clark is Superman, not gonna happen ...
VPtoday: Thank you for sitting down with me today! You're an amazing actor, a great inspiration, and I wish you the best of luck with Watchtower!
Allison Mack: Thank you so much!!
VPtoday: Watchtower premieres April 19th, 2010. Don't miss out! You can expect an exlusive clip from the premiere "Legend" next month, along with a promo that, I have viewed, and looks pretty darn awesome, if I do say so myself! And, thats a wrap! |

NEWS POSTED FEBRUARY 19, 2010. Scoop: Two-Face Coming to 'Watchtower'? Sources Confirm that Mark Valley has booked a recurring role on the series 'Watchtower' as the well known lawyer, Harvey Dent, from the Batman comics. No word on if we will see him become the infamous Two-Face on screen, but Allison Mack seems to think thats where they're heading. "The character is introduced further down the season in a very Bruce-centric episode," the actress revealed.

NEWS POSTED FEBRUARY 19, 2010. Scoop: J. August Richard talks 'Angel'With Angel's final few episodes still on there way, with no release date yet to be announced, we managed to reach series alumni J. August Richards who was only set to star in half of the season. Luckily for us, he has info on what's to come, who will be showing up, and who will be leaving. "When the series returns, you will begin to see how everything sort of narrows down towards the final few episodes," he revealed, "Especially after my last arc begins to wrap up." On the topic of Andy Hallet's last episode, and appearance, he confirms a 'villainous return'. "From what I've been told, Lorne returns with some important info on this coming apocalypse," he confirms, "And the episode ends on one of the biggest shockers of the season." When questioned about his final few episodes, he willingly spill the beans on his character's sudden turn towards the dark side of the force. "The first few episodes back, we'll see Gunn struggling to come to terms with the fact that he's a vampire now," he began, "And soon his choices will be shaped around his anger towards Angel." When asked about what to look out for when the show returns, the actor reveals "Wesley returns from beyond the hell dimension they were up against in the first quarter of the season, uncovering that its bleeding into the city again." As for the rest of the season, " You can expect a lot of epic moments for the characters, a few sacrifices being made, other casualties that affects Angel personally, and Wolfram & Hart will finally arrive in its truest form."Anyone else dying for this show to finally return?

NEWS POSTED FEBRUARY 20, 2010. Scoop: 'Thoughts' without Felicity!Prison Break actress Sarah Wayne Callies has officially been cast for the role of Caroline -- a somewhat rival of Megan's who will attempt to undermine her every chance she gets. As for Felicity Huffman getting part, it was no rumor, but unfortunately, the producers went with Callies. "Felicity was an amazing choice for the character, but instantly we knew after Sarah's audition that she was the right girl," producers confirmed, "As we pitch the rest of the season to the network, we'll definately try and find a way to have Felicity on the show, whether it be now, or in the future, we love that woman!"

NEWS POSTED FEBRUARY 20, 2010. Scoop: 'Cheshire' Gets Her Claws On 'Trinity'. Looks like 'Trinity' will get in touch with its mythology as well this season, as DC Comics Character 'Cheshire' makes her way to Lana Lang's city! She is said to be portrayed by Jenna Dewan -- arriving on scene as one of Amanda Waller's hired out assassins. In the comics, she was apart of many team affiliations, but her origins prove her to be a highly skilled martial artist, with poisonous fingernails added to the mix. As for what kind of story, or origin, the producers will introduce her to have, you can expect a massive throwdown between her and the main characters!

NEWS POSTED FEBRUARY 20, 2010. Scoop: Triangle for 'Trinity'Having recieved its official release date, spoilers, and news have been flowing in fast about one of the networks most anticipated shows of the fall. Its latest, a love triangle. Just as Quentin begins to fall for the spectacular Ms. Lana Lang, she begins to set her eyes on Jake. Its not unlike Lana to get caught up in one of these triangles, but the producers reveal it'll be a lot emotional than her previous 'wash and repeat' love life that played out on Smallville. "Just as you see the opportunity for Lana and Quentin to become something more, Jake comes into their lives," they revealed, "And Jake reminds Lana so much of Clark. Problem is, with her still damaged after the last moment she shared with Clark, she sets her eyes on Jake, to find something with him that she had before." As for poor old Quentin, maybe next time young chap!

NEWS POSTED FEBRUARY 23, 2010. Scoop: Exclusive role taken by Deschanel!Sources exclusively confirm that Emily Deschanel, from the hit television series Bones, has booked herself a recurring guest role as the notorious Jean Loring -- fated to become a very dark, villainous character! The DC Comics character is set to appear somewhere in the second half of the season, setting up a rather key role in the second year of Watchtower! Rumors have circulated that if the first season, plus the two hour crossover finale event, goes well, Deschanel could very well join the cast as a series regular for the next season. "The character, Jean, has a lot of development to do before stepping into the role of the doomed Eclipso," the producers reveal, "we're hoping to have her show up in the same episode we introduce Harvey Dent!" In the comics, Jean Loring suffered from a mental breakdown, that soon led her into an asylum where a supernatural entity, known as Eclipso, manipulated her into becoming its new host! Maybe, if things go as planned, she could be the first character we see entering Arkham Asylum, seeing as the series does take place in Gotham! "There's so much we can do for this character, and hopefully, she'll be a great addition to the show!" they concluded, excited about this sudden confirmation! Expect to see Bones star Emily Deschanel in Watchtower this season, which premieres April 19th!

NEWS POSTED MARCH 1, 2010. Scoop: Actress hints 'Major Death' for 'Faith'!With Faith returning this month, we were able to track down the lead actress of the VPN's hit virtual series 'Faith the Vampire Slayer' which will be entering its third season next year, who revealed some shocking spoilers for the season finale that is on its way. "There's a major death happening in the finale," Dushku confirmed, "One in which will affect all the characters, including Faith, very personally." Earlier, it was revealed a character will bite the dust in this seasons' 16th episode entitled "On Death Row", and when questioning Eliza, she had this to say: "That's a pretty big death too, but the thing that differs is, throughout the whole episode we know that character is going to die; but in the finale, in which the script was just sent out to us, its so unexpected." She soon followed on to reveal that it will bring two particular characters together, but not romantically, and will offset a character's dark path for the premiere of season three, and that first particular arc of the year. Note: It has been exclusively confirmed that David Anders role of 'Anthony' is not in any sort of death-trouble this year at all. The actor/actress has been let in on their depature, but is trying to keep it quiet, but we have it on good authority that Anthony will not be leaving Faith.
