SYNOPSIS

It’s been 10 years since Willow Rosenberg activated all the potential slayers turning them into “Slayers.” Now ten years later most of the slayer line has been abolished. In the small college town of Rosedale, Illinois. Lily Morgan (Teegarden) arrives about to begin her freshman year of college, when she discovers she is one of the few remaining chosen. And along with her new friends Miles (Dekker), Hope (Meester) and the guidance counselor who has taken a strange interest in Lilly, the small group of friends band together to stop the spread of vampires, monsters and other demons who are slowly overtaking the small town as a greater threat loom's ever closer with a tragic past that could spell the end for all.

CHARACTERS

Lily Morgan (Portrayed by Aimee Teegarden)
An eighteen year old who is starting her freshman year at Rosedale Community College, she is shy and somewhat socially awkward around most boys except Miles who she finds she has an easy time getting to know. Lilly discovers her slayer lineage through Cassie the new guidance counsellor at the college who turns out to by Lilly’s watcher.

Miles Hanson (Portrayed by Thomas Dekker)
Miles like Lilly and Hope is a freshman at Rosedale Community College. He is kind and sweet and cares very much for the people around him. He is witty and often sarcastic which makes it difficult for most to like him; he also harbors feelings for Lilly

Hope Porter (Portrayed by Leighton Meester)
Above all else, Hope loves being the center of any party. She can be quite the bitch and although she allows others to see her as ditzy she is quite smart. She is Lilly’s roommate and is also her best friend at Rosedale Community.

Cassandra “Cassie” Armstrong (Portrayed by Sophia Bush)
Cassie has a degree in psychology and was planted at Rosedale Community College to keep an eye on Lilly who is one of the few remaining chosen; Cassie cares very much for Lilly, Hope and Miles and will do whatever is needed to keep them alive. She likes to follow the rules but isn’t afraid of breaking them if the situation calls for it.

RECURRING CAST

ROBERT CARLYE as ELIJAH BLOOM - A former Watcher and Warlock who is attempting to convert Slayers to his cause, or kills them if they refuse - Main Antagonist

JACK COLEMAN as MAYOR GEORGE HANSON - The Mayor of Rosedale and less than perfect father of Miles Hanson.

MATTHEW FOX as SCOTT KELLER - A mysterious ally of Elijah's who intentions are unclear to all.

DAN BYRD as ERIC QUINN - known as Quinn to most. Quinn is Miles's roommate and is a confident to Lilly, but can't seem to stand Hope and her often materialistic and rude attitude.

Lilly Morgan (Teegarden) arrives at Rosedale Community College and quickly discovers she is one of the few remaining “chosen” a line of powerful Slayers who fight against monsters and other demons and discovers one may be attending Rosedale and is targeting Lilly’s new roommate.

1.02 – In The Shadows
Lilly and her new group of friends join to take on a witch who is using her powers to ensure her role as president of the most powerful sorority on campus.

1.03 – Our Town
As Lilly and the gang prepare to attend the Rosedale Annual winter wonderland, a pack of werewolves descend on the town and Lilly is forced to put her party plans on hold in order to deal with them. Hope meets Parker (Matt Lanter) one of the packs members.

1.04 – Reaper
After the battle with the Werewolves leaves Hope in the hospital she discovers many patients are dying who are more or less fine so she turns to Lilly and the gang for help.

1.05 - A friend in need
Giles (Special Guest Star Anthony Stewart Head) arrives in Rosedale to inform the gang of Elijah's true intentions which could mean the apocolypse.

1.06 - Mouth of Hell (Mid-Season Finale)
Hope (Leighton Meester) and Cassie (Sophia Bush) discover the location of the hellmouth which Elijah seeks for his master plan. Well Miles and George's father/son day is cut short when a vampire attacks George.

1.07 - Full Moon
The full moon looms over as Hope struggles to face her greatest fear. Well Elijah kidnaps Miles in order to get Lilly to reveal the location of the Hellmouth

Well Elijah's plan spells the end for all, Giles (Special Guest Star) arrives in town with an old friend in order to help Lilly and the team.



NOTES: This pitch will be updated slowly with graphics and maybe some promos. I've wanted to do a supernatural series for a while and love the idea of continuing Buffy but couldn't find the right way of executing it. For a while I was thinking of doing Charmed but was worried I couldn't pull off rhyming of the spells.

I'll be updating it slowly to include some of the pilot.

Is this not just exactly the same as how Buffy started? I can say that now I've seen a lot of it!

Maybe try and approach Lily's start from a different angle - what if she was edgier, more of a Faith, just kicked out of college? Because right now, this is basically just copying Buffy S1 it seems.

When you say you've "seen a lot of it" are you referring to Buffy or your read the "Slayer" partial pilot?

As for the "Edgier" Lily -- Buffy when we met her in the pilot had all ready come into her powers and was confident, self assured and more or less knew what she wanted, she was pretty kick ass when we are first introduced to Buffy Summers, she was just struggling with her own destiny which she eventually accepts.

Lilly -- is the opposite of what Buffy or Faith was. She is shy, lonely and if anything lacks confidence. The only similarity between Buffy and Lilly is that they are both blonds which is was something I very much wanted to keep. I loved what Joss did by picking Sarah, for decades in entertainment blonds were only ever seen as the damsel in distress not someone you would expect to see be a super powered heroine.

I will give you Miles and Xander as similar.

as for "different" That's why I went with Sophia as the watcher "Cassie"-- she's a girl instead of guy -- she's young instead of being old. I even planned to give Lily a father to contrast Joyce.

And well some may argue HOPE is a blend of Willow and Cordelia - I like to think of her as more of an original character, plus the story I plan for her will take her far away either.

For the story arc of season one. The Master is not Elijah, they both have very different goals and motivations and the season will lead in a very different direction than any season of Buffy or Angel has.

I think Tony is actually right here I am sorry to say. I know you made some differences but you still essentially have the Trio of kids who help the slayer out and a school employee who is the watcher. There is still the one boy character who is pining away for the slayer, etc.

I think what I am trying to say is that a radically different way of approaching the slayer lore would be better than a somewhat tweaked version of the original show. You haven't done a bad job by any means. I would just like to see a bigger gap between BtvS and Slayer. This is a good start and I will give the pilot a read.

Matthew I can see you've changed a few characters & stuff, but fundamentally this is the same set up, character, location & ensemble as Buffy. And that means, try as you might, Buffy is what you'll end up writing and, well... you won't do it as well as Joss Whedon None of us would.

Like Kerry said, try a radically different kind of approach to the Slayer. Why not have her in a mental institution fighting nasties & struggling to overcome psychological issues? Or make it a bit Fray, lob it into the future & create an entirely different world around Lily with androids & synthetics & stuff - Buffy meets Blade Runner (hell I'd LOVE that! )

Trust me, if you make this more original, you will have SO much more fun writing it dude.

My original plan was to have it set two or three hundred years into the future, I just wasn't sure about pulling of a series set so far into the future, all though I do have a new idea -- maybe give it more of a Buffy meets Terminator vibe. All though without Buffy of course.

I have to agree that it seems sortof like the first season of Buffy.But maybe we should wait until he gives a pilot in order to determine where to go from there.

Yeah that's much fresher, more original. Creatively you'll come up with more exciting stuff if you put your characters in that kind of world.

I do agree, it's too much like the First Season of Buffy, I would want to see something more original that doesn't have something to do with the Hellmouth. We already had that. Think of something crazy, take a dive into your imagination. And don't have it set in a school with the same trio we got for seven years.

Be fresh with the idea because after season seven and how Willow created THOUSANDS of slayers, that means you could do so much.
