  On a class trip, Shy and reclusive sixteen year old Peter Parker is bitten by a radioactive Spider and given extraordinary gifts. While Peter struggles to get a hold of his gifts, he uncovers he isn’t the only one who’s been given powers and that many citizens of New York have also begun to be cursed, while Peter must learn to deal with his new found responsibility as he tries to balance a normal life and the difficult life that comes with being a hero, while trying to win a date with new girl Gwen, and avoiding his tormentor’s Flash Thompson and Liz Allen.

CHARACTERS

Peter Parker (Portrayed by Dylan O’Brien) is our main protagonist while Shy and sensitive Peter harbours a great confidence and isn’t afraid to stand up to those who mean other’s harm. He is a loner and is constantly picked on by Flash, he spends most of his time alone, until Gwen arrives and the two quickly connect intellectually, and begin to form a strong bond. He struggles with balancing a normal life and the responsibilities that come with the bite. He finds it increasingly hard to disappoint those around him, especially Gwen.



Gwendolyn "Gwen" Stacey (Portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence) is new at Midtown, she meet’s Peter in biology and becomes intrigued by him, she is fiery and independent, and she is also kind, caring and always ready to lend an ear for those who need a little help. After she rejects Liz’s offer to join her click and almost immediately the two become enemies, she aspires to be a reporter and joins the Midtown Ledger. 




Eugene “Flash” Thompson (Portrayed by Jake Abel) is Midtown High’s star quarterback, he is tuff, rude and obnoxious, he is also Peter’s tormentor, and he harbours a deep hatred towards Peter and constantly picks on him. Ironically he is a large supporter of Spider-Man and has an unwavering loyalty to him.

Liz Allen (Portrayed by Becca Tobin) is loud, bubbly, conceded and extremely shallow. She however is not mean, she simply lacks empathy she is also captain of her cheerleading team, and believes because of that she and Flash are perfect for each other, she at first shows as much of a dislike towards Peter as Flash does but slowly as he gains more confidence she begins to become smitten with him, causing Flash to torment Peter even harsher.

RECURRING

May Parker (Portrayed by Mary Steenburgen) is Peter's loving and sweet Aunt, while she may seem sweet she is also strong and often a rock for family to lean on.

Ben Parker (Portrayed by Jon Voight) is Peter's strong willed Uncle, he has an unwavering sense of moral duty and is a firm believer that those who have power should use it to do good.

Wilson Fisk (Portrayed by TBA) An crime boss who works mainly out of Hell's Kitchen, he has a deep hatred for Spider-Man and will stop at nothing to defeat him.

George Stacey (Portrayed by TBA) Father to Gwen and Captain of the New York police, he is headstrong and loyal, often putting his career before his family.

Jessica Jones (Portrayed by Willa Holland) A lonely girl from Midtown who is possibly one of Peter's few friends, she comes from a broken home and has an abusive father. A fact she tries to hide from those around her including Pete. NOTE: She is only set to appear in the pilot. It is possible she could return later on.

I like the idea of the network dipping back into the MARVEL Universe - and with Spider-Man. A very good start.

Given the plot you laid out for us, I can't do too much commenting on it because it's very much the story we already know. More originality and your own unique spin on the character would hopefully be present within the script, but it would have been nice to see some of that from the very start, with this pitch. What makes this Spider-Man VS something worth while? What makes it stand out from just being yet another origin story of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Do you have a particular tone you'd like to set for this show? One that hasn't quite been explored in other Spider-Man adaptions?

Finding a hook - something to make us go "Oh, that's a fresh take" - is the main thing I would be looking for.

Ha ha, yeah that's fair I put up just the characters pretty much, I kept trying to put episode descriptions but it never worked, I barley was able to get the character descriptions up but it was giving me headache and Becca's gif was a pain also for some reason. But for a tone I was thinking "isolation" making Peter feel as alone in the world as I possible can. When the series starts at least he has no friends, and the father figure he has dies, and he truly feels like he is alone, and build of that and realize slowly we all have someone.

When it comes to something we haven't seen, I sort of wanted to make him not be a "hero" right away, this series is about his rise to that. I called it "Spider-Man" because I didn't know if I should change the title but am considering it. I don't even want anyone to say the word... word's? Spider-Man, until like at least mid point in the series. We do see him a little bit be that hero in the pilot, but that's because of the guidance of Ben, but when he loses that, It's sort of a sets him back and it's a slow burn from zero to hero. It's not the story of Spider-Man it's the story of Peter Parker's rise too Spider-Man.

In the comics Peter will be on a date and ditch Gwen and run off to selflessly save the day and stop the villain, he may not make that choice for awhile because it's not in most peoples nature to run off and do that, because to them it's not their problem.

I originally debated including Harry but opted to not include him yet, but when I do, I plan to have Darren Chris play him, I also all ready have my M.J.

Also, you have a lot of pitches, Matthew. More recently, "Fallen". Are you done pursuing that project? You've written a pilot for it, I believe. Personally, it's very confusing when you make several pitches, because I don't know what you're actually attempting to pursue. My advice, asked for the ones you're not working on at all to be archived. Then go from there.
