The Cinematic Buffyverse

The Buffyverse is back with new life breathed into with the shared film universe concept made popular by Marvel. I have almost completed the first draft for Buffy and have started the drafts for Angel and Faith. I have a deifinite outline for the first 'phase' of films and have some rough ideas for a possible phase two.

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER

Following the final battle against The First Evil itself, Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Co. have made their way to Britain to meet up with the surviving members of the Watcher's Council. Buffy wants to help reshape the organisation for a new world where Slayers vastly outnumber Watchers and ensure the girls she has activated across the world don't become merely tools in the battle against evil, before she leaves Willow (Alyson Hannigan) and Giles (Anthony Stewart Head) in charge and settles down with Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg) for the 'normal life' she has craved. But a rising adversary threatens to destroy the Slayers dreams before they even begin.

Now the Scooby Gang must venture to Rome and defeat an enigmatic being known as The Immortal (Ian Somerhalder), who has been harvesting Slayer blood to fuel a ritual every hundred years to grant him renewed life. This time around he doesn't need to rely on just one Slayer at a time, there is enough in the world for him to achieve true immortality. Meanwhile Willow and Kennedy (Iyari Limon) must venture to Tibet to find a way to kill the unkillable. The war is far from over.

FAITH

ELIZA DUSHKU TAKES THE SPOTLIGHT AS EVERYONE'S FAVOURITE ROGUE SLAYER RETURNS

Faith (Eliza Dushku) Robin (D.B. Woodside), Vi (Felicia Day) and Rona (Indigo) are sent to Cleveland to take out the last of the Firsts followers who have gathered at the Hellmouth.

Upon arrival, they are met with complete and utter anarchy as the Firsts minions have set into motion a plan to reboot the apocalypse that failed in Sunnydale. Now Faith, with help from some locals (Channing Tatum, Jensen Ackles and Kristy Swanson), must prove that she's a hero in her own right and finally step out of Buffy's shadow.

ANGEL: AFTER THE FALL

Last time we saw Team Angel, they stood in an alley, broken yet undefeated, as the forces of hell descended upon them. Now, Angel (David Boreanaz), Spike (James Marsters), Illyria (Amy Acker) and Connor (Vincent Kartheiser) must figure out how to get Los Angeles back to its own dimension whilst battling against their own as a now vampiric Gunn (J. August Richards) is working with the Senior Partners to annihilate Angel

Angel comes to realise that in order to save the world and fulfil his role in the Shanshu Prophecy by sacrificing himself in order to prevent the rise of The Wolf, The Ram and The Hart.

WILLOW

With the looming threat of The Senior Partners and their apocalypse upon them, the Scoobies decide they need help from The Powers That Be so it is put upon Willow (Alyson Hannigan) sets off on an interdimensional quest to find answers.

But, her journey leads her to find out more about her own magic as she encounters Lillith (Famke Janssen) the First Witch and aided by spirit guides in the forms of Tara Maclay (Amber Benson) and Anya Jenkins (Emma Caulfield) as she tries to reach the PTB and learn more about the Senior Partners and the origins of the Scythe.

THE WOLF, THE RAM AND THE HART (CROSSOVER EVENT)

Slayers, Vampires, Witches, Old Ones and humans take a stand as the Senior Partners take corporeal form and a new apocalypse begins. Old foes return and lives are lost as all-out war is waged

I haven't read through the entire pitch, because I'm actually currently watching BtVS and Angel for the first time, but my advice would be to focus on one movie at a time. We don't need plans for the next 4 films without a complete pitch for the first one. Develop that, pitch it, and if it gets picked up, then go from there.

I'll be posting the full, detailed pitch for Buffy within the coming days. I just wanted to test the waters witih this to see what people thought and give an overall idea of what I was doing with it.

How far are you into the shows and how are you enjoying them?

I agree with Brady on this one. You should focus on ONE project at a time. If you do like 4 movies, you're going to overwhelm yourself. Also my advice would be to, yet again, flesh out your own original idea. Buffy is an already established Universe with a HUGE following with a Spin off and Comic Continuations. As much as I would love to see Buffy back on theVPN, I would do your own idea. Create your own Supernatural Drama. Or Create a Drama or Action series. Don't limit yourself, Hayden. Doing an established universe series is hard, take it from me. You should, in my honest opinion, focus your talents on creating your own universe. That way you're not limited. I would love to see an Original idea from you Hayden.

I'm enjoying both! I'm on S5 of Buffy, and S2 of Angel.

But back to the pitch, I think you're treading in waters that have been done so many different ways, in terms of fan fiction and canon comics, that it's probably going to be incredibly hard to find something original to add to such a complex universe. That's all I can really comment, but if you still plan on doing this, I think people who have watched all of Buffy and Angel would have more critique to give.

I would love to see all of these. The Buffyverse really did go out with a whimper (not counting the comics) and this does feel like a fitting end (or continuation, whichever you're planning on making it) to the franchise.
