AUDITION - SEQUENCE FIVE CREATOR TALK Last sequence, we saw several developments for our characters. David officially ended things with Alisha and began a budding new relationship with Mia; Alex took the next step in his relationship with Rose; Alisha began a journey of self discovery; Rose and Robbie created a partnership for their dream; Michael found his calling in the scriptwriting craft; and possibly the most shocking of the bunch - Paula is attracted to Michael. With the expanded episode count going from 12 to 20 in the previous sequence, a lot more happened, and the fans were extremely positive as a result. It has officially been confirmed that sequence 5 will also harvest a bounty of 20 episodes, and we hope you enjoy it all the same! Now, we're going to see where we're going to meet our characters when "Audition" returns. ALEX has been lost in a sea of rejection these last couple of episodes, and it wasn't until 4.18 "Fallout" where we truly saw how it had affected him. Going forward, he will begin to try and put these feelings behind him and move on with a more carefree lifestyle. He will also continue his relationship with Rose, as they will continue to move forward with one another. David is also another character that we will see spending a lot of time with Alex. But most importantly, Alisha and Alex's relationship, much like in 4.20 "Tears, Smiles, and Other Face Activities," will be a major component of the sequence. Much like 4.03 "Baes, there will be an episode early on that really hones in on this relationship, and is said to be a part two of the sequence four finale. When we last saw her, ALISHA had finally accepted her sexuality; however, it had appeared that she waited to long to admit her true feelings for Kelsey, as it was revealed that she was dating Tina. Catching up with her in the premiere, we will see a much more confident Alisha. She'll not necessarily be over the emotions we saw from her in the sequence four finale, but she will be trying out several different things. One aspect of her life that just now came back was her relationship with David. Alisha and David, while still not entirely on the same level as they were two sequences ago, will begin to share more scenes as they try and put their past behind them. Officially being in a relationship with Mia, DAVID's character will take a fairly drastic turn early on in the sequence. We saw him begin to step out from the background and do things he wanted to do, and that's very much still a prevalent thought in his mind. The sum of money he received from the company that produced Warfare will also continue to linger throughout his story arc, because he still has absolutely no idea what to do with it. Speaking of newly formed relationships, ROSE will continue to pursue her dream with Robbie. Much like David's story, she will make a fairly big decisions early on in the sequence that will affect how she continues to move forward in her dream. She will also continue to sustain her relationship with Alex, as it has been revealed that, much like Alex/Alisha, Rose/Alex will take a forefront throughout the sequence. Several new characters yet to be cast will play a role in Rose's storyline. MICHAEL, much like that of last sequence, will continue to try and build upon his portfolio. We don't want this story to be rushed, so it's definitely going to be considered a slow burn as the new sequence progresses. Expect more writing experience to come to Michael's scenes, and while they may not be as wild as his last one with Tabbi and Yana, they will still be incredibly entertaining. Finally, the sequence came to a close with a shocking revelation for PAULA. She, after putting her relationship with Jace behind her and admitting to Michael that she went to see him, found complete solace in her bestie after he told her she did not burden him and that he would essentially do anything for her. Expect Paula to be in a heap of confusion when we meet her again, as she attempts to understand these newfound feelings. As to be expected, comedy will ensue as she attempts to figure these things out. Recurring characters returning will be: MIA, who will continue to try and let her guard down as she continues her relationship with David; ROBBIE will still be a driving force behind his partnership with Rose; KELSEY and TINA will resurface early on in the sequence five; and WYATT, who was very much thought of as a minor character, will bring with him a very large storyline. One last tidbit of information is that the sequence premiere, entitled "23 Days," will take place after a time jump of three weeks. This will give our characters time to settle into their newfound emotions and states of being, as well as be the catalyst for new drama and storylines. Other than that, expect an even more emotional sequence this time around, and stay tuned for several more spoilers on casting, story arcs, and episodes as "Audition" sequence five flies into production!

CASTING NEWS: CLASS IS IN SESSION! AGAIN! The first casting news of sequence five is here! And with it comes a new spoiler - Alex and Alisha will be enrolling in a new acting class! That's right, and already enrolled in that class are seven very peculiar individuals. Let's meet them. First we have Celina Yip, portrayed by Malese Jow, who is described as very confident, but not cocky, actress. Next are Thiago and Gabriella Preciado, portrayed by Diego Boneta and Maiara Walsh respectively, siblings with clashing personalities; one flirty and over the top, and one more reserved. Jamie Clayton will portray Livy Gordon, the oldest actor in the class with a sassy yet caring personality. Then we have Dev Gara, portrayed by Anoop Desai, who, despite being incredibly shy, has received the most awards out of the class and is rumored to quickly befriend Alisha. Gin Ando, a bubbly and quirky actress who lacks a societal-influenced filter, will be portrayed by Kimiko Glenn; however, it is clear that her skill set is a huge threat to those around her. Finally, we have Brandon Sharpe, portrayed by Carlos Valdes, who is wildly intelligent and best friends with Dev. Excited to meet these wildly different and new characters? How about for Alex and Alisha to enroll in a new acting class? More news on that later, but for now enjoy these seven new castings! And stay tuned for more Audition spoilers, coming soon!

It seems like Alex and Alisha are both running away from their problems. I might be wrong, but if I'm right, that sounds like an interesting development and a nice way to join where they ended up last season to where they are now. I mean, Alex was defeated from all the rejected job opportunities, and Alisha was kind of literally running from Kelsey at the end there, and being in a place of defeat herself. I think it's a good form of escape though, and is more adult. I mean, back in the first season, it wouldn't be wild nights of partying, so it shows a lot of progression. This is Season 5. Holy shit.
Paula is avoiding Michael? Oh my god. I'm glad you're describing this arc as being more about Paula than anything else, and how it's her discovering feelings and not a nod towards "This is going to happen." It's exciting. I think it'll feed into the awkwardness of the character. Maybe you can add more serious elements to Paula and more dramatic things, and maintain that level of endearing awkwardness about her through these feelings for Michael and through their interactions? I'm excited.
I hope the advice for Rose and Robbie is something like, "if you guys really want to sell, then ya'll should hook up because an audience can tell what's real and what isn't, and right now, you guys aren't selling shiiiiiit," and then there's an awesome conflict and awkwardness but grit and chemistry and ugh. I ship it. I'm such trash. Nek minnit the advice is just, "You guys should get matching outfits" and I'm over here thinking it's like Jessie J belting out "BANG BANG INTO THE ROOM" at them. But okay, I'm-a exit stage left on this one.
Also: Mia and David in a comic book shop = perf. They're also perfect for each other. God dammit.

I'm seriously excited for this, I love the title as well! I can't wait to see what Alex and Alisha are up too because it seemed like at the end of S4, they were going to be heading into something big, so I cannot wait to see what is to come for their story. Maybe a bit of a strain in their friendship? Possibly? Possibly not? Also, I'm seriously excited for the Paula Arc this season. Because, as you know, Paula is my favorite character, and I cannot wait to see what is in store for her this season, I hope we finally get a big Paula episode where we just see her day and how she wakes up in the morning. I'm thinking she wakes up and sings like a Disney princess. Is that just me?
Okay, maybe it is, but I am HELLA ready for what is to come with Audition S5, I just know you're going to do great and bring it to new heights and twists. Also Mia better like that Comic book shop or David is going to have to find a new lady that would apperciate it...or man *Cough* Alex *Cough* *COUGH* *NUDGE NUDGE HINT HINT*

CASTING NEWS: NIECY NASH AND AMBER RILEY ARRIVE IN LA With production for S5 still well underway, more casting news has been released, proving that this sequence will be hitting on all fronts storytelling wise. VSGuide has learned that Niecy Nash ('Selma,' 'Scream Queens') and Amber Riley ('Glee,' 'The Wiz Live!') have been cast as Jeanie and Tiana Marks, respectively. That's right, Kelsey's family is getting introduced! Jeanie will serve as Kelsey's mother, while Tiana will be her cousin. While not specifically confirmed, it has been rumored that these two will make their first appearance in an early episode of the sequence. "It's really interesting that we get to expand upon Kelsey by introducing her family and home life," says series creator Brady Brown. "It'll really give you a sense of who Kelsey is and why she is the way she as, as well as her mother and cousin giving her some much needed advice. It's just exiting to introduce new character to allow as many characters as possible to grow and be given depth. Hopefully they can be peppered throughout the season, much like David's parents, Shannon and Mei." Are you excited to dive into more of Kelsey's character by introducing her mother and cousin? Sound off below and stay tuned for more spoilers regarding the fifth sequence of "Audition"!

This season seems like it'll focus a lot more on the friendship between Alex and Alisha, so I'm hella excited for it. Kelsey was a character that started off as someone I really liked and slowly fizzled out just based on certain choices she made and reactions she had to Alisha in the latter end of the sequence. I wasn't that eager for her to stick around, but if there's story outside of her connection with Alisha, and she becomes an important character much like Mia did outside of her conflict with the mains, then I'm all here to discover it and see what's next for her. New sequence, new story, so I wonder what bringing her family into the fold will do for her going forward, and what her S5 journey will be

I would also probably guess Paula, and it's her talking about her feelings for Michael to someone and describing it. Or it's Alisha, and something is going on there, haha! I don't know. If I'm wrong on both counts, Imma be so upset with myself, lmao!
